star trek is poetic cinema etc.
I'm listening to the first few episodes of HFTH again with my friend and was overtaken with the desire to create this.
[ID: a Hello from the Hallowoods version of the bird screaming over another bird meme. It's a four panel comic.
In the first a black bird with three white eyes is talking and saying "Not now, not now, Diggory thought, as they were pulled into an utter darkness"
In the second panel he continues "with the ghastly boy standing over them, staring down with cruel and merciless eyes." But is interrupted by another speech bubble that says "Are you missing friends or family left outside of the Dreaming Box?"
In the third one another bird is visible with heart shaped glasses and a wide red hat, that continues shouting "Try our new Recommend a Friend program!"
In the last panel the first bird sits with annoyance on its face while the speech bubble of the other bird continues with "I’m Lady Ethel Mallory with the Botulus Corporation, makers of the Dreaming Box."

what’s it called when you’re so disconnected from reality that cold water doesn’t feel like anything and you can barely taste food anymore
Jon just wants to go home and take a nap.

{ID: This is a digital comic of Michael Distortion talking to a kidnapped Jon. Michael asks, "Is your recorder running?" Jon replies, "yes" after a moment, to which Michael says, "Then you'd better go catch it!" Jon looks irritated, though Michael grins widely. }
Cosmic Grief
i had some spare time left and decided to draw a second picture for the hallowoods art competition!
You stole a kiss on a dying star. You stretched the seconds out in the gravitational collapse, as the shock waves broke from the atomic core. You were completely entwined, and all your eyes looked into all his eyes. And that was the last moment you were really, truly happy.
~ HFTH Episode 13 - Stars
[Image Description:
A realistc drawing of outer space. It shows the supernova of a brightly shining, collapsing star in red and green colors on opposing sides of the picture. There are many glowing particles on either side of the painting. The green side represents the Hello From The Hallowoods character Marolmar. There are tiny green vines amongst the stars stretching out into space. The opposite, red side of the picture represents Nikignik. Glowing eyes can be seen amongst the particles in that area.

my submission for the @hellofromthehallowoods art competition, based on story 2 of episode 11 - hearts! this is so exciting :0
there is a whole lot of symbolism packed into this artwork. to find out more about my considerations, please click here.
the ID is quite long, therefore i have decided to add a shortened one directly in the post. for the full ID, click here or look at the reblogs.
[Short Image Description
A drawing of the Hello From The Hallowoods characters Diggory Graves and Percy Reed inspired by Episode 11 of the Podcast. Diggory is a Frankenstein-esque Monster and Percy is a ghost. They are facing each other and sharing an intimate moment in the rain. At the bottom of the picture, several plants can be seen framing the artwork.

nothing funnier to me than when AI does math wrong. like I get why it happens, it's a language model that's treating the numbers you feed it as words rather than integers and then giving you an answer based on how those words typically appear in a block of text instead of actually performing a calculation. but the one thing computers are genuinely incredible at. you fucked up a perfectly good calculator is what you did, look at it it's got hallucinations

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
