Oswald is probably of German-Dutch descend!

I mean his mother is literally called “Gertrude Kapelput” (and on her grave, her German and not the anglofied version of her name was written). Furthermore it could even be that Oswald is full on half-German, considering his mother’s strong accent and in his hallucination during his therapy with Doctor Strange his mother said “Liebchen” (Darling).

And his father’s name is “Elijah van Dahl” and his grandfather’s name was “Manfred”, which is a strong hint to a Dutch heritage.

[Maybe this was already obvious and I actually didn’t discover anything new, but as a German myself it was fun to point out! ^_^]

Mine was Trouble with Tribbles! My father who is a huge Star Trek Fan made sure that his children will also become fans 😂 and hey! It worked!

Camilo Madrigals voice in German! What I love about the German version is that he is actually voiced by a singer! Álvaro Soler, who is Spanish but can speak German fluently! 😚

I recently watched two Peter Alexander movies and I felt the need to make myself a lockscreen and edits! :)

For those who don’t know: Peter Alexander is a legendary Austrian actor/singer/entertainer, who was very famous in the german-speaking world from the 1950s throughout the 1980s!

This melts my heart cause I want to become a translator and interpreter in the future! Very well said! Agree 100%!

Can we give credit to translators? My first language is not english, and i grow up reading translated works. I fell in love with the words of my favorite books, even though it was not the original. When i started reading the original versions, it occurred to me, how hard, and time consuming translation is. It’s a whole different genre, and it’s requires so much talent. They have to translate someone’s work in a way, that the readers, who speak a whole other language will understand. They have to translate in a way that they will laugh, and cry, and live in the story, and make annotations, and write out quotes, and think about it when they half asleep. They will make it their own, in their own language. That’s something so beautiful, and delicate. Translators are just as much artists, as painters, or writers. They make reading available to all, and i can’t thank them enough.
