the real tragedy of star wars is people will ship obi wan with whoever he shares screentime with , literally anyone, except for dexter jester. his love his life his literal 50s diner operating bff who somehow knew about a secret planet . that was romance and it’s just so fucked how obi/dex shippers are sidelined. obi/dex shippers are taught to be small, to shrink themselves,, well not anymore. i’ve decided to start a movement,
Free my girl she did nothing wrong, except make terrible choices, which girls are allowed to do! Without consequence!
"Nice characters are boring" to YOU. I love characters who no matter what, will always have genuine love for humanity in their heart. Characters who dance and laugh and sing with sincerity. Characters who believe in others, and are willing to extend a helping hand to people when no one gave them the same luxury. Characters who have gone through so much but believe, no matter what, that humanity and life is something beautiful and worth protecting

"I never believed she was real, she seemed so fake" ??? If that's ur criticism, fine whatever, but isn't it more interesting to think about why this character might maintain a false persona, a stiff mask, in order to conceal a true self? The possibility that she does not and has never known her true self because she's never had the opportunity?? That that repression might affect her choices throughout her life? Maybe more of that complexity could have actually been shown in the movies, but no one's stopping you from reading between the lines a little, getting a lil imaginative with it? But no let's just say she's boring
ok, phrasing my objections a bit better: this is a reblog on an old web weave i did paralleling padme to lolita, talking about natalie portman being sexualized at a young age, how this may have bled into her taking on of an "adult" role, and at the end being critical of padme's positioning in the larger star war saga. it's an old post & ive now deleted it. because as much as i think padme's writing could've stood more complexity, i don't think there's any less imaginative or simple a viewpoint than "a CHILD as a QUEEN? NONSENSE. boring!!". like idk how the takeaway on a female character being a little inconsistent or having some flaws in her foundation is always that she should be wiped out completely & hated nonstop. im tired!
i've never seen star wars and i'm just wondering is luke gay?
i’ll let you decide
Loving star wars is a curse and perhaps a mental illness of some kind
Sith!Obi-Wan, holding a detonator: I’ll give you thirty minutes to say your goodbyes before I blow you to smithereens Cody: Can I get a different kind of blow? Fox: *turns and stares at him* Cody: … I said that out loud- Fox: YOU SAID THAT OUT LOUD Rex, to Sith!Obi-Wan: You can skip the countdown, just kill us
