follow up to the commission question, so I’ve donated to some of the organizations aiding those in Gaza and was still interested in commissioning you, but would you prefer if people held back on doing so to instead donate to the organizations? I just don’t wanna step on your toes lol! thanks :)
you're not stepping on my toes at all, dw! I'll gladly take the commission since I'd love to write for you -- but I've decided to donate the proceeds to one of the organisations myself, if that's alright.
I started doing commissions before becoming aware of the situation so they weren't necessarily opened with donation in mind, but I think it'd be best if that's how things proceeded. I'll probably amend the announcement post to reflect this.
as for anyone else interested in commissioning me, do what you feel is best -- whether you'd prefer to donate the money yourself or donate it in exchange for my work, what ultimately matters is making a difference for palestinians and those facing similar circumstances. none of us are free until all of us are.
This is the .core gang + Vincent who is the main antagonist (name is still debatable) Their story is so convoluted that I could probably spend an hour trying to explain it and even then I'm not done yet... woops!
Then there's Devils Manor, with Emile and Nana! Emile being an aspiring photographer who goes to a manor to take pictures for his portfolio, gets himself trapped inside the manor and has to survive all the ghosts 'monsters' and obstacles while having to deal with, the reincarnation of a clown herself Nana, slowly they learn more about each other as they explore the mansion together.
and the last group is Fini and Rowan (who technically don't have as lore rich of a story but I called it Arrow to the heart! The gimmick being that Fini, who's an equivalent to cupid, is actually aro/ace and does not care for romance and they learn about what love really means and that it's not just about relationships :) Rowan is just the worlds most autistic guy trying to help Fini in their endeavours )
If you’ve had a period of basically dissociating from a hard time of your life, you’ll know that doing even the littlest thing that has an effect in the real world vs on a screen can be so profound. Something as little as you doing a favor for someone, or someone noticing something about you that you didn’t think anyone would even pick up on bc your brain is all messed up about being perceived. Your living footprint is all muddied and murky. It takes a lot to even feel like you’re inhibiting your body. So consequences that come as a direct result of you just living, whether big or small, blow you away on an inexplicable level
I made a short with my ocs in it :)
I think there’s something to be said about how depressing the presence of roach bud across all of gregor’s ids is: even when he has nothing to do with the smoke war, and his arm is implied to be lost under completely unrelated circumstances (such as in sous chef), he can’t shake the label of pest… his trauma is burned into his very being regardless of the choices he makes… it’s kind of saddening but at the same time his ability to move past that is commendable and honestly uplifting
What’s under Jevil’s hat?

i feel like gregors roach traits could be read as allegories for PTSD/trauma. obviously the way he got them was a very traumatic experience, but i wanna focus on the war shit and the other genetically modified veterans we see. Like how he grows more buggy when he gets really stressed, and the more traumatized he gets the less physically human he becomes (because trauma dehumanizes you!!). and when he survives the war and tries to live a normalish life, the one thing that keeps it from happening is his cockroach arm. It won’t go away, even if he tries to cut it off, and it lashes out indiscriminately much to his scorn and resentment. like that scene in the subway where it attacks that woman seemed to be followed by mentions of the war and thoughts of it on greg’s part. I also think that the way gregor and all the other insectoid smoke war vets who turned to enkephalin (can’t say i blame them:( ) couldn’t get their lives back and were used and thrown away is like obvs a statement on how the govt/war machine/military industrial complex treats (disabled, but that’s another text post for another time) veterans. not to mention the fact that gregor explained they were operated on without their consent!! gregor and co are seen as disposable, disgusting insects who are less than human. i also think there’s something to be said about the fact that he’s a cockroach specifically. yes, they’re viewed as gross, disgusting pests but they’re also survivors. no matter how disgusting people think they are they don’t die in water and they can literally survive decapitation. also like the way trauma makes you feel so disgusting and tainted and like how your own mind and body don’t belong to you. he can’t look at him own arm/body without remembering that his own mother decided to surgically experiment on him… he consistently talks down on himself for being a roach human hybrid or whatever. he makes me so sad. the way other people treat him like he’s gross too like omfg it makes me sooo mad. he has endured so much dehumanization on so many different fronts :( i hope he has a good support system. anyways i like gregor hes a dilf cockroach milking
