There's this trend I'm calling "Over-corrective fanon." Where you have a commonly held opinion in fandom that is seen as inaccurate. In response, a new headcanon springs out, usually designed to combat the first fanon by swinging in the complete opposite direction.

For example, let's pick an obvious one: Combating the 'Dick Grayson was the ray of sunshine" by going "Dick was actually an angry kid! Jason thought Robin was magic."

None of the Robins were "The Angry Robin" They all had varying emotions, and boiling them down to one extreme or the other is just not embracing the character in the entirety.

It's really funny that Cass and Steph patrol as a pair. Like, Cass? We all know she doesn't need back up. So everyone just assumes Steph's there BC she's weak.

Steph, trained by Cassandra, Batman, Barbara, and iirc Shiva? Stephanie Brown who Black Canary says reminds her of herself. Stephanie Brown who's the only one Cassandra will listen to at times.

Steph doesn't need Cass for patrol, Cass needs Steph there to keep her grounded to reality and not spiral into self destruction.

Okay but who would be who??? I can see Steph as Cat Noir with her quips and her general vibe, but I can’t see Cass wearing Ladybug’s bright red costume cause she just embodies all black costumes so well…

Why are there not any StephCass Miraculous Ladybug Au's??? Why is this something I've never seen before?? Guys?? Just think about it, it would make so much sense!! Pls?? It came to me in a dream and I need someone to make my vision a reality. I am not okay over this, pls and thank you

Y’know the classic “Billy de-transforms from Captain Marvel back into Billy and the JL think he’s been de-aged so Billy has to pretend to be from ancient times” thing?

I want someone to write that but with Captain Marvel and Billy being separate people like they are in the old comics.

So it’s just Billy either not knowing shit about how to act like a young Cap or Billy not giving a fuck about acting and just him leaving the JL really confused about how Cap was like this when he was young.
