What’s it like to listen?

Cassandra did not live in a silent world when David was training. There were many sounds, fists against flesh, gunshots and blades being drawn and wielded.

It was a world she was used to. David never said he was proud, but Cassandra knew he was.

Now, she chooses not to think much about him. He had granted her these skills, but that was all he had given her beyond pain.

The world was louder now, she had to learn what voices were, what type of sound the voices were and what that meant. It was hard. Very hard. And it infuriated her. She wasn’t trained for this.

But, there was one sound she liked. Something that Barbara had given. She named them headphones. They faíce fed her ears and played a soothing tune of gentle… piano, yes.

It was easy to understand. The music was simple, she could close her eyes and focus on it. Barbara wasn’t always understanding, not knowing Cass was trying, and she wasn’t like her.

But this music was nice.

It was nice to have sounds she understood.

happy birthday to my beloved blorbo... this is late to cass cain week because as you can see it is a behemoth and i spent 2 weeks on it. first time making smth like this but phew the things i would do for cass. Song is I Am the Dog by Sir Chloe

I start with cass post shiva fight after she wins and then immediately go all the way back in time to the act of violence that put cass on her suicide mission in the first place

baby cass is holding that mans throat in her hands, the most prominent mark on her chest is his blood / adult cass is holding her mask in her hand, and the most prominent mark on her chest is the bat symbol

this wolf is a reference to the mark of cain symbol which im...pretty sure is a wolf? its really shittily drawn and not a lot of references but whatever. she is being partially covered by the mark of her father.

OK! that one scene where we see cass's birth and it says the first sound she heard was her mother and the second was a gun shot? that made me terminally insane. this is that.

then we go through a fast montage of cass's important parental people in her life in order david/babs/bruce/shiva. we end with the scene we opened with in the beginning, zoomed out, and cass seems happier. yay!

Oracle: It kills me so much to see her like this. I just... I wish I knew how to help Cass overcome her death wish. Shiva: Did you try turning her off and turning her back on again?

Superman, in the middle of a battle: *gets hit by a shard of kryptonite*

Batman: *grabs the shard and hands it to Captain Marvel*

when you dump the rats out in the front yard where do you think they go

Do you think that, if asked, Captain Marvel would tell the JL that “all the gods in my head are either screaming at each other about me or screaming at me to murder somebody to set an example” or do you think he just wouldn’t tell the truth?

i still stand by my opinion that if they bring back babs as batgirl then they absolutely should bring dick back as robin i don't give a fuck. put that grown ass man in his robin suit every time you erase oracle and babs' journey & growth as a character.

Idea: Captain Marvel (Shazam) gets knocked so hard by magic that it sends his conscience spiralling into one of the past champions.
