Halloween is the perfect time to read the incredible works of Emily Carroll, my absolute favorite horror cartoonist and storyteller. You can read many of her works free on her website!

I especially love His Face All Red, The Groom, The Hole the Fox Did Make, and Out of Skin.

I cannot over-recommend Carroll’s short story collection Through the Woods, which is one of the best works of fiction (horror or otherwise) I’ve ever read. If you can, get a copy from your local library or bookstore!

Got to go, it’s Halloween and I’m spending my evening sitting in the dark, drinking hot chocolate, re-reading these spooky comics while the wind rattles at the windows.

Been coming to grips with the fact that im a therian or furry of some kind, still figuring out the distinct lables and trying to find what fits me.

All this to say im wearing a fox tail to the grocery store today. Fuckin wish me luck.

This is your reminder that every breath you take under a system that wants you dead is an act of defiance. If you are a woman, trans, black, brown, indigenous, AAPI, two spirit, Jewish, Muslim, disabled, poor, gay, an immigrant, or any combination of those groups or other marginalized groups I'm forgetting to mention, every piece of joy and peace you find in a country that will not protect you is revolutionary.

Give yourself time and space for your anger, channel it into donating or volunteering or even just supporting vulnerable individuals in your communities. But also give yourself time and space for joy, to take a deep breath. Take care of yourself. Brush your teeth, take a shower, eat, take your meds, check in with yourself. Honor your culture in some way, pray to your ancestors or to your deities, make cultural art, or comfort food. Go get a tattoo, or a piercing, or dye your hair. Find ways to remind yourself of your power, wherever you may draw it from. Turn off the news, at least for an hour or two. Watch a few episodes of a stupid TV show. Watch something that will make you laugh. Read a few chapters in your favorite book. Take a walk. Literally smell some roses. Anything that will give you strength to keep going, anything that will give you any small spark of hope or joy.

Activism is important. Getting in the streets is important. Donating to abortion funds is important. But you will not have the energy to do those things effectively if you do not give yourself grace. If you do not honor your emotions and the time you need to feel them. Constant exposure to stress is not healthy for anyone. Don't burn yourselves out, try to find a balance that works for you.

You are spiting the system by simply keeping yourself alive. So make that your priority first. Get your strength up, get your head straight, if you can. We need you at top condition (whatever that means for you) for what's to come. We need everyone.

God, I have been struggling so much with my trans identity recently. I dont even know what I want anymore. Am I simply GNC? Am I full transmasc? I started this because what I had would have wound up with me dead, but now that I've started and started to feel better, I just dont know what the hell to do next? And what if whatever I decide to do makes me feel worse?

What would villainous be like if it was on adult swim?

Lots of swears! Especially from Demencia and even Black Hat. Blood, cannibalism, lots of murder… Just horrible things. Part of me wishes it was actually on adult swim, but Alan seems to want the challenge of putting such a potentially scary and dark show on kid’s TV. 

Been approaching this idea for a while. We make our own enrichment, which is bard and spoons byt worth it in the end. Just wish I could find more people near me who also thought that way.
