so... hey, i get that these new tag bans suck for content creators and in general, but can we focus for a sec on how it's going to obliterate desperately needed and sometimes lifesaving support networks for victims of assault and csa, those of us with ptsd and c-ptsd, and also appears to be targeting neurodivergent people (stimming is included on the list i saw), people with disabilities, and the lgbt+ community, among others.

antisemitism, racism, misogyny, and homophobia were also on the list i saw and those tags are, from what i've seen, largely used by people in opposition to prejudice.

trigger warnings are also on the banned list.

this is targeted censorship.

smalltalk is important. smalltalk is one of the "social glues" that hold communities together. smalltalk is a ritual of signaling to other people that you are safe to talk to. now think for a minute about being a person who is completely unable to engage in an activity that holds communities together or signals to other people that they are safe to talk to. think about how that would limit that person's ability to engage safely with their community, limit the support they get from others, lead to pervasive loneliness and isolation. think for a minute about the resentment that would build up from that type of isolation.

You created your filtering settings for a reason. My "Blur content" was and always had been OFF. It was off an hour ago, and I just found it on.

This is ridiculous.

If people want to see mature content, let them see mature content.

If people want to filter tags, they can create filtered tags.

If people want all mature content to be censored, they can do that themselves.

Stop. Censoring. Your. Users. And. Get. A. Fucking. Grip.

Both the teenagers and the adults on this app can take care of themselves and monitor their media consumption and if some can't that shouldn't be everybody's problem.

Oh and btw, it's very clear how this is mostly happening to posts from the trans community and anybody under that umbrella.
