Hi I read Near to the Wild Heart by Clarice Lispector because of your fic Roses in a Flatbed lol and I loved it! Both the book and the fic :) Just wondering if you have any other book recs
Hi! Thank you for reading one of my oldest stories, and I am honored that it inspired you to pick up Clarice! I love her very much. I’ve read and enjoyed quite a few of her books—The Hour of the Star, Agua Viva, The Passion According to G.H., A Breath of Life, The Apprenticeship or the Book of Pleasures—and I am working my way through Too Much of Life. All the above books I recommend.
Now, for other books: I both love and dread giving recommendations, because I care too much about what my tastes say about me, and I also struggle to curb my impulse to list every book I have remotely liked in recent memory.
Below are my list of recommendations, in no particular order. What they all have in common is that they are written by women, and they all changed my brain chemistry for the better.
Northwood: A Novella by Maryse Meijer
This Woman’s Work by Julie Delporte
Walking Through Clear Water in a Pool Painted Black by Cookie Mueller
Cursed Bunny by Bora Chung
The Pisces by Melissa Broder
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
Winter in Sokcho by Elisa Shua Dusapin
The Ballad of the Sad Cafe by Carson McCullers
A few of these books have content that could be upsetting, so check Storygraph or Goodreads before taking them out at the library or purchasing. Thanks for dropping by and happy reading!
The mood lately. Here're some updates:
wholly mad and half undressed - xxxHolic/Tsubasa. KuroYuko. Rated E.
Lovesickness - Naruto. Multiship, focused on the older jounin. Rated E.
SatoShoko Trash Heap
SatoShoko is the first JJK ship I ever wrote for. It was sort of an accident - I have a v. kind reader who was into the series, and I wanted to write about a character that they like. Shoko was in the first few episodes and her laidback energy is an excellent foil to Satoru's bananas behavior, and that was enough, apparently.
Please note the rating at the end of the description. All adult situations depicted are between consenting adults. There is also drug use, mental health issues, and violence in a few of the stories. Please mind the tags of each story - I go out of my way to ensure that readers know what they are getting into.
And now, the stories:
Never to be disassociated from the dark: Love means not wanting to be without each other. M.
Shiny Pink Bubblegum Psychopathic Sweetheart: Making it real far. M.
Hard Candy and Sour Hearts: The world sucks, but at least Shoko and Satoru have each other. E.
Terrible, No Good, Awful: Shoko is left with the kids for ten days. Chicken pox strikes, and suddenly, those ten days turn into a trial. T.
Listen I love you joy is coming: Shoko tells Satoru about the woman crying uncontrollably in the next stall. E.
Bridges: Satoru and Shoko’s relationship is full of the gaps that they think others have left behind. E.
And the SatoShoko BROTP:
The Spins: Shoko goes out of her way to avoid talking about her life; Satoru goes out of his way to get her to talk about it. T.
Displacement: For all of his strength, Satoru can’t protect people from themselves (nor does he try). M.
hi! i love everything you've ever written ever - your naruto fic was so moving it made me reread the whole series bc it's been so long and i didn't remember half of the characters and then i realized YOU should've been writing naruto from the jump. i love your characterizations, espescially for for your jujutsu kaisen fics. i don't think there's anyone else who's landed on how sweetly sickening sashisu is ... would you ever write them romantically? or even just suguru and shoko? just wondering!!
Gosh, I have written so many Naruto stories that I judge myself lol. Lovesickness is the most recent one, so I assume that's the one you're referencing? The power I would have if I could turn that specific story into a manga! It's probably my favorite.
Thank you for your sweet compliments about my writing! I've started reading Naruto and am a third of the way into the series (I watched the anime and fell off right before Five Kage Summit), and honestly, I couldn't have written it. I don't have the vision that Kishimoto had. However, I will gladly write fan fics about Naruto, especially the older jounin!
I have written too many Jujutsu Kaisen stories. The people in the GetoHime tag must be sick of me! I hint at past SaShiSu in Fathers and Mothers and Daughters and Sons, in the fourth and fifth chapters. I love writing about SaShiSu as friends, since they were totally the kids who played car accident, but I don't know if I could do a poly story justice. SuguShoko is a ship I have thought about, but idk, I kinda want to just focus on stories set in other fandoms. You have planted a seed though.
Thank you so much for reading my stories and leaving me such a sweet message <3
I literally went through the depths of my phone to find the memes that inspired Shiny Pink Bubblegum Psychopathic Sweetheart (it's NSFW and rated M). In conclusion, my life is hell and the memes on my phone create a swamp of misery. But at least it gives me inspiration!!!! And you can't tell me that there isn't an uncanny resemblance to SatoShoko I simply SHAN'T HEAR IT!!!!
Let this be a reminder that true love is sending each other ridiculous memes that may only be funny to your special person <3
P.S. I definitely described the top meme incorrectly but alas, no one is perfect, especially not me!
hiii!!! i wanna say i’m a huge fan of your works. i fell down the rabbit hole of nanamei and your works are like an oasis in the middle of a desert. i read the getohime fic where he cheats on manami and goddd its my absolute favourite!! reading it from manami’s pov with mitski/lana songs in the background makes me cry all the time.
while reading it the idea of gojo and manami dating felt so cute and the fanart i saw of them didn’t help a bit. i would love it sm if you gave the ship a thought xoxo
Thank you, you are too kind! Idk if my stories are an oasis but they are something lol. I listen to so much Lana and Mitski, and it's such an honor for my dumb stories to be in anyway associated with them! I feel bad for Manami in that story lol she did nothing to be played that way.
Hmm, Gojo and Manami. A ship I have not thought of, admittedly. I'll have to think more on it but I make no promises!
Found my Skins DVDs and high school paintings and now I miss my old cup size and having time to just paint eight hours a week.
My sad girl mood forever and ever.
Updates:
Lovesickness - Love makes you do crazy things with no regrets. Naruto, Older Jounin, E.
Sharp Stick in the Eye - eat me! drink me!. Bleach, Nemu/Byakuya, E.
Meme not mine - I don't have such genius.
My GetoHime Trash
When I die and go to heaven, no doubt an angel will ask why I put so much GetoHime content onto the internet. I shall have no good response, other then things just played out this way. My head, heart, and gut all say ShokoHime, but GetoHime is too conceptually entertaining for me to ignore.
Below is a master list of my GetoHime stories. They are all on ao3. Please note the rating at the end of the description. All adult situations depicted are between consenting adults. There is also drug use, mental health issues, and violence in a few of the stories. Please mind the tags of each story - I go out of my way to ensure that readers know what they are getting into. It is all NSFW, lol.

I really love your work on ao3, especially your naruto and jjk ones! I had so much fun reading When the Birds Began to Die and was wondering if you ever thought about expanding that universe. I think a satoshoko spin off could be really fun, or even a sashisu high school focused one! Hope this doesn’t sound pressuring or anything :’)) Your writing is amazing 👌
You're too sweet! It's been a minute since I have considered that story. I have two other stories that I'm trying to make headway on right now. Thank you for giving me something to think about, and for reading my stories. It means the world!
She/Her. Pls don't bully me on the internet. Known as antioedipus on ao3.
