Paratober day 14 - buttons
⚠️BLOOD, MARRIED IN RED SPOILERS⚠️
The murder twins
POV: They're about to beat the shit out of you
MORE SIGVERSE FUNNIES!!!!
I love the idea that Batman has a Dad Instinct™. Like he just knows when one of his kids is in trouble! Whatever it is, it can be because of a villain or because they are causing mischief he just knows!
It can obviously be infuriating for the batkids, like he's in the middle of an important meeting with the Justice League and suddenly he just stops talking and goes in his personal comms and starts to bicker with Nightwing saying "No, you can't go bust that cartel alone. I don't care that you and Jason are fighting you are going to take him with you-" and you can hear a distinct "But daaaad!!" from Nightwing.
Or he just says "Don't you dare." when one of his kids is in the Watchtower with him and starts looking at Flash with mischievous eyes.
Or even better he starts to treat some of League members just like he treats his kids! Like "Don't touch that." when Green Lenten takes a step too close to one of the buttons near the windows (he was going to open the windows when the sun is directly hitting on said windows, probably temporarily blinding some people). Or "57 boxes of Oreos is too much even for you, my friend." when Martian Manhunter looks at the kitchen again (he eats too much of the stuff and is starting to become a problem).
Or when he looks at our baby Billy Batson and he has a feeling that he needs to take care of him but that's Marvel! And he's clearly a grown man! Right? (It doesn't help that he just can't find anything on him)
He cares too much for his on good
The no kill rule is not about Bruce just uwu not wanting to become a murderer it’s about knowing that no person is morally infallible and omniscient and you cannot be judge jury executioner and that you are allowed to keep this last bit of innocence that you do not have to live with the burden of someone else’s crime you shouldn’t have to give away a part of yourself just because someone else decides to commit a horrible crime it’s not about whether the Joker deserves death it’s about whether someone should bear the burden of becoming a murderer none of you fuckers know why the death penalty is bad
do you think a Batman who holds little kids to get them to safety can pick them up with the same two hands that took a life? Don’t they deserve better? Doesn’t he?
percy, on the phone: hi, it’s percy
sally: what did he do this time?
percy: no, mom, it’s me percy
sally: oh… what did you do this time?

Also a quick Saiki and Akechi. Changed the design of his glasses because yes.
It’s so important that tsp is a game that knows it’s a game and it asks you to keep playing it and it tells you that to keep playing it is to torment these two characters but it asks you to do it anyway.
I watched The Morality of The Shadow of the Colossus and it said “you’re involved in it but you’re not Complicit. These things would happen anyway. You’re just re-enacting it” and I feel like the Parable is SOME of that. It wants you to feel complicit but it never really blames you for what happens, except maybe in the potency of the Skip Button. And by that point you have next to no choice.
TSP asks you to play it, knowing the consequences, and says “you can save these two, but you won’t, but that’s okay, nobody blames you. This is how they’re designed. This is how we need them to be, for the game to work. Please, keep playing. Keep making them butt heads. We made them for you.
We made them for you.”
To mark my official 2025 return because it's been long overdue 😅
