I think it’s finally time to share my zonai OCs with art done by the lovely @walrus-tusk-615bc! They’re part of an AU I’ve been rotating in my head.
This is Nayru “Ruru” (nonbinary) and their half-sheikah son Neberu “Nebi”!
Nayru is the last descendant of a long line of ice sages that trace their lineage back to Naydra (yes I subscribe to all the the-golden-dragons-were-once-zonai headcanons lol). Their name is ancestral, passed down from sage to sage. However, they excel more in base zonai magic than ice due to not having any family to mentor them—they lived alone for the majority of their childhood in the harsh tundras of the sky islands to the Far North (off the map).
And this is their son Neberu! His other parent is a sheikah with an also fruit-related name (that I haven’t come up with yet). Unlike Nayru, he uses an even mix of ice and zonai magic (mainly for stealth purposes). He studies rare fauna once thought extinct, specifically insects.
If Pitaya dragon has no fans, then I am dead.

Imagine your polycule’s cottagecore gf goes on a vacation, comes back as an evil sorceress and kills the majority of your kingdom’s population, then resurfaces again like 1000 years later, traumatized, but with cool fairy powers while the evil sorceress version of her is still out there somehow. Would that be fucked up or what.
Couple goals: Horrid beast tormented by voices, whose only choices are to witness/cause the death of their soulmate and a princess who’s doomed by the narrative to repeat the cycle upon their death.
A bunch of Zonai, since I’m still so mad that Rauru and Mineru were the last of their species :(

What about Dragon Sonia, Dragon Rauru and Dragon Mineru? Would they hang with Light Dragon Zelda and the fact that I'm also wondering if Dragon Sonia would be small too cause of being a Hylian and how eerie a Spirit Dragon would be! Sad too with how Mineru was effected by The Gloom in her final moment. 😱😭
