i actually think it was really interesting the way that almost every character was trapped in a place of helplessness most torturous to them. like yes buck is in his worst nightmare, being trapped outside with no way in to save his family. but athena is limited to helplessness by protocol that’s above her head, something she always chafes against but this time can’t meaningfully get around. chimney is stuck on the other side of the glass unable to save his best friend. hen is stuck as the patient. maddie is stuck on the other side of the phone and forced to listen as her husband gets worse and worse. and eddie? god, eddie is trapped in texas, trying to choose his family, and he probably doesn’t even know that his real family is in mortal peril right now.
crucially the only two who aren’t restricted like this are bobby (which is likely to come up later) and ravi. and that’s what makes it such a good ravisode, because ravi is still the outsider to this little family. but he’s given that choice: save them or follow orders. and he makes the choice. because that’s what he’s learned from them, that sometimes you put yourself in danger to save someone else.
and then it doesnt even work. which puts him right into the same trapped, helpless boat as everybody else.
the reason i so desperately need buck to have a baby girl is because i really, really need to see him cradling this tiny baby to his massive chest and eddie watching with the most insane heart eyes known to mankind
also he’s really girl dad coded okay
HC/rant that maybe someone already said, but I'm procrastinating, so anyways.
You know what? Batman's build is kinda a plot hole, specially on that one comic that he is straight up a fuckin gorilla (and you could argue that gorillas are flexible, and you're right, but this is supposed to be a human).
It's impossible that he's buff as Superman.
Yeah, his training is super hard: LOTS of cardio, agility and resistance, and it does have heavy lifting here and there, yes. But almost all of his training is in various martial arts, box from Alfred, stealth, fencing and other ninja/assassin skills.
¿Have you ever seen the bodies of professionals in these sports?
The meatiest of them could be boxers, but they're more like fit than "I'm a walking house that it's about to rip this shirt just with my titties".
The only way to get this massive is by taking supplements, but that will be mostly for aesthetic, and someone as freaking paranoid as he is, will never cause muscles that beefy will only get in his way in everything all the fucking time and, contrary to popular believe, don't really give so much extra strength nor stamina.
Besides, a fit muscle body is easy to pass as "I'm a rich douch bag that really likes the gym/do sports" than a "I'm a walking fucking truck".
"¿But what about his genetics?" I'll give you that he's tall, and has good genes, but that body builder wet dream it's simply not natural.
"¿But how can Clark have that musculature then, if he barely works out?" He's not human. He's a freaking alien power up by the sun. For all we know, this is what a Kryptonian skinny nerd looks like. And we're not body shaming him.
"¿So we just say goodbye to Clark pretending to be Batman? ¿Is that what you want, you monster?" Naw, I just said that this is actually a new chance to better his cover, because Batman and Bruce Wayne don't even have the same body type ¿Who would believe such nonsense?
It's kinda stupid say is his own body, BUT, considering he is (allegedly) a normal human regularly fighting against metas and gods.
And his suit has been said to contain anti-impact technology with a bellows system and other things built in, plus the various technology he keeps in there. Could make sense that all the extra muscle is just his armor.
And Clark impersonating Batman is just using almost simple fabric against his Apollonian body and they have nearly the same silhouette.
This way, Dick taking the mantle and Bruce going as Nightwing and nobody noticing a thing is so much less weird. Because their physical appearance isn't that far off from each other.
But we have to say goodbye to Clark pretending to be Bruce, tough, sorry about that.
isn’t it so funny (by which i mean it makes me want to cry) that for years we have been going on about the loft being wiped off the face of the earth and burning down to the very last brick so buck could be free of his industrial misery box and in the end it turns out that buck didn’t need any of that to be free of it. he simply opened the door and made the choice to step out. because eddie needed him
entering the fray: government name Evan Diaz, turnout coat B. Diaz, still goes by Buck, obviously, and does not explain why when he meets new people.
TMA Ep 177 do be hitting different😃
Leave me alone Doctor David lemme live😭😭
if I had a nickel for every time a ship I shipped had a person named Buck who the other person in the ship left I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
If this is what they do. If this is what they do i might just forgive them.
Bobby's dead, and Eddie's only back because of it, and Buck's been living in his house, and they've both been so lonely, and they know they can lean on each other, and a loss like this is something they've never faced before they don't know how to face it.
And the funeral is beautiful, Athena and the kids keep it together better than the 118 ever could, and there's fucking Tommy, and Gerrard, and all the reasons Bobby's life was made hell before he died and it's too much.
Eddie keeps himself together until they get home and Buck finally allows himself to break. They don't know what to do, there's nothing they can do but comfort each other. The hug doesn't feel close enough, doesn't let them feel alive enough, and Buck's always one to be impulsive when his emotions are too much.
And Eddie asks what he can do, a parallel to when Eddie's life was crumbling around him. He rests their foreheads together, whispers as he still clings to Buck, I'm here. What can I do? and Buck kisses him.
It's not how it's supposed to happen, but nothing about their lives or their relationship has ever been the way it was supposed to. Bobby brought them together over a grenade and it's finally traveled enough distance to go boom. They neither one care if they survive the blast.
And then Buck's phone rings, it's the only thing that separates them. He doesn't want to answer it, doesn't want to let go of Eddie for anything, but it's Maddie, he has to answer it, freaks out that it may be Chim, or the kids, or-
"Bobby's alive."
And they neither one talk about it, neither one acknowledge it, how can they sort out their own feelings when they're running to the hospital to piece back together the family they thought would never be whole again?
I am weird.I am here. I am in so many fandoms i honestly can’t even count it anymore. Also let’s go a-spec peeps!! Idfk what im doing
