First up we got the classic irondad/spiderson dynamic. ICONIC. Can have you punching wholes in the walls with the amount of FEELS and FLUFF and, of course, ANGST. 10/10, great way to get started. BUT. We’ve barely even scratched the surface.

My other personal favourite: Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil adopts Peter. Bonus points if it’s after No Way Home, the emotional hurt/comfort potential is IMMENSE. I just. I love that shit. I eat it up every time. GIMME!!!

Next up, one I did not think would work, but it ABSOLUTELY DOES: Bucky Barnes adopts Peter. Currently reading a fic called Anatomy In Reverse by pansley on ao3, and lemme tell ya im OBSESSED. I did not think there was potential there, BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. (Lovely fic, would 100% recommend it btw)

Oh and did you think Peters adoptableness only reached until the confinements of the MCU? THINK AGAIN. Cuz the Batfam is NOT ABOVE ADDING SPIDERS TO THE BATS AND BIRDS!! You think Batman has an adoption problem, you’ve clearly never seen the amount of fics of Nightwing adopting Peter. (I guess it runs in the family. Also, Dark Matter anyone??)

And these are just the ones I’ve come across! It’s like if you feel like writing parent-child dynamics in the mcu - or even outside of it, jesus! - you just get yourself a ready-to-adopt Peter Parker, maybe kill of some more of his parental figures i guess, and boom! You got yourself an adoptee!

okay but eddie's version of boston. somewhere in 8b eddie goes to stay with his parents for a week to look at houses and start really repairing things with chris and it's His Episode. there's the occasional call with buck or bobby and a little scene of hen and chim asking how he's doing when buck has to end their call at the station. but it's just an eddie deep dive.

i actually think it was really interesting the way that almost every character was trapped in a place of helplessness most torturous to them. like yes buck is in his worst nightmare, being trapped outside with no way in to save his family. but athena is limited to helplessness by protocol that’s above her head, something she always chafes against but this time can’t meaningfully get around. chimney is stuck on the other side of the glass unable to save his best friend. hen is stuck as the patient. maddie is stuck on the other side of the phone and forced to listen as her husband gets worse and worse. and eddie? god, eddie is trapped in texas, trying to choose his family, and he probably doesn’t even know that his real family is in mortal peril right now.

crucially the only two who aren’t restricted like this are bobby (which is likely to come up later) and ravi. and that’s what makes it such a good ravisode, because ravi is still the outsider to this little family. but he’s given that choice: save them or follow orders. and he makes the choice. because that’s what he’s learned from them, that sometimes you put yourself in danger to save someone else.

and then it doesnt even work. which puts him right into the same trapped, helpless boat as everybody else.

started watching 911. thought you guys were exaggerating this gay shit. you were, in fact, correctly reporting the quantity of gay shit. amazing.
