At the request of my dad: Wolverine in a tuxedo🤵♂️😌
Progression of this drawing:
Me: *draws a wolverine head, intending to use it at practice, minding my business*
Dad: *looks over*
Dad: draw him in a tuxedo
Me (was just going to leave it at the head): ??
Dad: a tuxedo!! Draw him in a tuxedo :3
Me: is there…? A specific reason… you wanna see him in a tuxedo, or…?
Dad: nah. Just thought it be funny lol
Me: *side-eyes him* damn okay *draws the guy in a tuxedo*
[two confusing minutes later]
Me: how tf do arms work?? *grabs dad, makes him sit in front of me w crossed arms* yeah that’s better
Dad: *gets bored, does a gesture and waits for me to notice*
Me: lmfao okay you know what
Me: i’m doing that
Me: *does that*
And so, Wolverine in a tuxedo with a middle finger was born😌🤌
I like the way you think. who even needs sleep anyways hahahahahahahahahahahahahh—
there needs to be a 'next work' button on ao3 for works that aren't a series but are by the same author so when i go thru every fic in a fandom an author has written its less time between fics where i remember i should stop and go to bed
Scrolling through the Buddie tag recently (I really shouldn't do it too much 🙈😅) has been a lot of things from people writing about Buddie weddings to "how are people talking about buddie canon like that, I don't think they will happen at all..."
Feelings are valid, of course, but in both cases my personal thought is: Maybe try to chill a little, please? 😅
Pretty sure I find myself somewhere in the middle, definitely leaning towards optimistic.
Why you might ask? In my opinon, the writers aren't necessarily subtle anymore to make it clear to the general audience what they want to do. And the show is in a phase where it lets the audience hanging a little with Buck being like "In love with Eddie?", kind of defensively and weirdly denying it and then saying something like he understands T is threatened by what he and Eddie have. And some other honestly a bit crazy lines 🤭😃 But that was pretty much it for now, wasn't it? It needs to be followed up at SOME point. If they don't do that - what WAS the point of bringing it up?
This also goes for three mentions of Eddie's straightness (two times from his bi bestie in total defensiveness and one time from the mustache wearing mister himself) and the reactions to that - two from other gay men, the *scoffs* "okay" from one in specific 🤭😃
Sooo, my guess is they will have Eddie catch up a little in the remaining episodes. Or at least it's what I hope. (I've read opinions on this from several other Buddie fans and I agree that I would like to see Eddie get there before Buck realizes.)
I don't think Buddie will get together in season 8 just yet. With the renewal they will probably drag this out a bit more into season 9. Will they/won't they and more pining. Perhaps an almost kiss (I would be delighted, honestly).
I'm leaning more towards third party admission for one or both of them. I do think the audience will know, at least. (The promo has been there, too - at the beginning of the season, at New Year's, journalists see it, they were mentioned on another show (!) - to only name some.)
In my opinion, people are dooming more again (when do they not though 🙃🙂) because Eddie wasn't in 8x14 and there are only a few episodes left in season 8. Buck realized he likes men in ONE episode, right? I'm just saying. Technically it doesn't need much more for Eddie either, especially if he doesn't outright say anything, e. g. "I'm gay/into Buck/men", but they show or have him do or even say something that makes it clear.
That's where I personally stand right now. No dooming, but hardly any thoughts about a wedding yet either. I cannot bring myself to go there much when they aren't even together yet. In fact, I have barely read any fics where they get married, tbh. Engaged yes, but not married. Then again I'm not really a wedding kind of person. Happy when my ships do get there, but I won't be "screaming, crying, throwing up" about it 🙊🙈😅 (I say that now and then will probably be one of the first people to cry when Buck and Eddie, a queer slow burn ship on a network procedural show, emotionally exchange vows lolsob).
ImPatiently waiting for a first kiss (for now). 🤞🤞😇✌️🫶🌈
This… Netflix needs to see this.
I think one of the most overlooked factors in Netflix's cutthroat approach to deciding wether to renew a show is that they wholly underestimate the power of fandoms.
They seem to think that unless a show is record-breaking or award-winning it will not be profitable to renew but they fail to recognize that most people don't give a shit about the accolades as long as a show is good.
And even then, it is normal to take more than one eight-episode season to pick up real cultural traction. Plenty of now-beloved shows did not reach mainstream popularity until they were multiple seasons deep.
Netflix fails to consider the longevity of their IPs over the initial peak of interest, and have thus cultivated a self-fulfilling prophecy as people avoid starting new shows because they don't want to become invested in something that is more likely than not to be cancelled, and thus these new shows don't reach the ludicrous viewership standard they have set to justify a renewal.
Sure, they get new subscribers for new shows but what keeps them there? Maybe they'd actually stay subscribed if a new season of something they are invested in is on the way (barring the cost itself, which is a whole different can of worms).
Plenty of people subscribe only for one or two shows- I remember people cancelling their subscriptions when they took The Office off because that show alone was keeping them on the platform.
Supernatural did not get 15 seasons because of its exceptional writing or cinematography (ha), they got 15 seasons because of devoted fans who wanted more. Who kept rewatching and buying merchandise and paying for con tickets.
Daredevil is one of the best shows I have ever seen, and that was at the time where the "early" cancellation was common after three seasons (with 12+ episodes). Inside Job is one of the only adult animated series that I have ever thoroughly enjoyed, and it was lucky to have two seasons. Shadow and Bone had the potential to be a franchise based in the extended Grishaverse, and yet it also ended after two seasons.
Finally- not everyone watches shows the day they release! We don't all have that sort of time, and it's ok to discover a new show a week, a month, a year after it releases! Word of mouth and fan culture/communities have been the rock upon which lasing series are created, from Star Trek to Game of Thrones.
All this to say, @netflix yall get your act together and renew Dead Boy Detectives before you lose your captive audience 🫠
Delulu is the solulu guys trust
isha is NOT dead guys this is a dream sequence i swear
i have no idea if they plan to keep bobby dead or if they will bring him back but i know this. eddie will not be going back to el paso after the funeral. sure he’ll go back to sell the house of smth but he’s going to move back. not because of buddie (though that will be a huge win) but because eddie doesnt want to miss anything else. eddie created a life and a family for himself in la. his son spent half his life there and his second dad is there too. eddie will not move back to el paso because bobby dying will remind him of that life he built and him not being there for bobby’s death will remind him that he doesnt want to miss his family anymore
Hi hello yes i need to buy a gun. Uh-uh. Yes. Well yes I did just watch 2x13 “One Day” but I fail to see how that’s relevant.
Whoever decided to kill off Charles - WATCH YOUR FUCKING BACK. WATCH. YOUR FUCKING. BACK. YOU WATCH YOUR MOTHERFUCKING BACK.
Okay, but
The way Bucks face fits perfectly between Eddies neck and shoulder
