You were in the Uber on the way home, secretly crying in the back so the Uber driver couldn’t hear you. You couldn’t help but think about seeing Colson in bed with another girl. It really got to you and you hated that it did and it shouldn’t have affected you but it did. You were in your own thoughts when you heard your phone, it was a text from Colson.

“Why did you leave?”

“I’m surprised you noticed considering you were too busy getting girls into your bed”

You put your phone on silent and put it back in your bag. You didn’t want to look at your phone in case he messaged you back. You didn’t want to talk to him. You were sick of the way he was treating you and you wasn’t going to put up with it.

You walked into your house and crashed on the sofa, kicking your heels off. You got your phone out your bag to find a couple missed calls and a few text messages, all off Colson. You didn’t want to continue this little spat you had with him, especially on his birthday. You got up from the sofa and changed out of your dress and put on some comfy clothes, you were glad to be back in some baggy clothes. You walked into your kitchen to make yourself a warm drink and you heard knocking on your door. You put the kettle down and walked over to your door and you opened it to find Colson was stood right in front of you,

“What are you doing here Colson?”

“You left my party without a goodbye… Also, I think we need to talk”

You motioned for him to come into your house and directed him into the kitchen. You sat down on a stool whereas Colson stood on the opposite side of the counter. This felt awkward and you hated it.

“What’s the matter with you Y/N? You’ve been acting strange for a while and I hate it when we aren’t talking”, he sounded quite worried. You tried to not look at him because if you did you would melt into those beautiful blue eyes but you needed to tell him how you feel.

“I am going to be straight with you now Colson because this is something that I have been keeping to myself for a while. I know we said it would just be a bit of fun between us but the more we were intimate with each other, the more I could feel myself falling in love with you”

You tried to not look at Colson because you didn’t want to see his reaction so you kept looking down at your hot drink. You heard footsteps thinking Colson was walking away but you felt his arms wrap around your waist and his head buried into your neck. You turned around on your stool and wrapped your arms around him. You needed this hug and having Colson still here with you meant a lot.

“I have to go Y/N”

You looked up at him feeling hurt. Why is he leaving after you poured your heart out to him?

“Please don’t go. I need you”, you could feel yourself welling up inside as he let go of you. He started to back away from you which then you ended getting up out of your seat to follow him.

“I am not good for you Y/N. You need someone who is going to give you what you need. I can’t do that, I’m sorry”, he opened the door and walked away. How could he leave like that? You started to cry as you felt your heart shatter into a million pieces. You sat on the floor in the hallway with your knees close up to your chest crying. You stayed like this for about half an hour but when you finally calmed, you picked yourself up and dragged yourself to bed. You couldn’t properly sleep as all you could think about was the way Colson walked out on you. You still couldn’t believe he would walk out on you like that, you two were supposed to be really close and he walked out. These thoughts kept reoccurring in your head that you didn’t realise it was 4AM but after a while you could feel yourself getting drowsy and you slowly dropped off.

It was past 12 in the afternoon and you just woke up. You couldn’t believe you slept in late but the sleep was definitely needed after a shitty night you had. You got up out of bed and made your way downstairs to the kitchen and put the kettle on. You needed a strong coffee to wake yourself up. You sat in your kitchen admiring your back garden and you heard your phone buzz. It was a text from Rook.

“Hey Y/N, would you be able to swing by the house within the next hour?”

You debated with yourself whether or not it was a good idea but you were curious to see what Rook wanted so you messaged him to say you will be there as soon as possible.

You drank your coffee and walked upstairs to your bedroom to get ready. You still had last night’s makeup so you quickly washed your face and whacked your hair up in a bun. You chose to wear a baggy shirt and a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a pair of your favourite converse. You grabbed your car keys and drove straight over to the guys house. You wondered why Rook needed you to go over, does he know about what happened between you and Colson last night? You parked in their driveway and walked up to the house. Rook saw you walking up the path from the window and he rushed to the door to open it.

“Hey Rook, what’s up? Is everything alright?”

You gave Rook a cuddle, you were glad to see him as he was also one of your closest friends.

“I’m just worried about Colson, he got back to the house last night and his eyes were all puffy and red from crying and went straight to his room. He hasn’t come out yet”

You were starting to worry so you rushed up the stairs and went straight to Colson’s room. You opened the door slowly and peeped your head in. You saw Colson sat up in bed just scrolling through his phone, you walked in closing the door behind you and walked over to his bed and sat next to him…
