Bonus :

Buck is not a tactile person, at least not in the way we think.

I know in fanon and fanfics, many of us (especially me) love to imagine Buck as someone who constantly presses these small touches into the ones he loves. Except, he doesn't.

Don't misunderstand, Buck thrives on physical affection. Some of his happiest moments are when he receives that form of love. Except, when he gives it, it's almost always under a specific condition.

Buck waits for near-explicit consent.

Hear me out:

Buck Is Not A Tactile Person, At Least Not In The Way We Think.

It's not as if he doesn't touch people, but it's very much a needed-as situation on the job and then rare occasions such as celebrations with the team. And again, it's never those small, mindless touches of someone who just wants to physically feel someone they care for.

Even in the scariest moments, he waits.

And we can infer he accepted her permission because we see Buck this terrified for a loved one the very next season. Except, he doesn't get any request for comfort or form of consent then.

They're both obviously in critical condition. Both need medical attention immediately. Yet, Buck takes the time to hug and comfort Maddie because she asked for it.

He clearly doesn't mind either option. He's overjoyed just to see them alive. And that's the point. For Buck, these interactions aren't about him. Which is why he doesn't actively pursue them. (Not saying he shouldn't. I, personally, think he should.)

This is a perspective I think many authors can take advantage of when writing fanfiction.

I am not saying to stop writing Buck as openly tactile. I'm saying write both. Write either. Write it all. I need more of this when I search my ship.

And in case you didn't know, EDDIE is the one more openly, physically affectionate between the two of them. 100%. But that's a separate post if you want it.

Also, Buck does not hold these standards when it comes to Chris. Also another post.

Bonus :

The only time I could actively remember Buck touching Eddie without consent (when he wasn't saving his life). Season 2x14 "Broken". This wasn't the first time Eddie had been in danger, but it was the first time he was in danger without Buck there. They were ready to run into the house after he didn't respond on the radio. Eddie came out after his "Spiderman" routine, saving a child in the process. Buck couldn't help himself.

(Just gonna mention how the physical distance between these two has only grown after every time Eddie's needed help... Hmm...)

Shinarthur Headcannon’s

-Shinra uses he/they pronouns

-Arthur probs had a gaypanic when he met Shinra and mistook that for hating him.

-Totally the type of ‘friends’ to flirt with each other as a joke (but they really mean it, cause feelings)

-They both vent to ogun about their feelings. He thinks their idoits, but loves his friends dearly.

-Ogun is defo demisexual or pansexual.

-Arthur is bi or demi

-Shinra is bi

-Arthur is autistic with a special interest in Arthurian legends and myths.

-Arthur loves Shinra real happy smile and for all his insults, he loves his nervous one as well, he just doesn’t like seeing it because it means Shinra is uncomfortable and nervous.

-Arthur 100% uses old courting methods and weird medieval pick-up-lines.

-Shinra’s feet hurt after fights quiet a lot and so Arthur will either carry him or sit with him until he’s able to walk.

- Arthur’s hair continues to grow longer and Shinra really likes it.

-Shinra learns to braid from Iris and Maki, and starts braiding Arthur’s hair.

-They end up switching what bed they sleep in every couple of days.

-They always share the bed after they start dating.

-They have nightmares quiet often and since they are both light sleepers, they will always wake when the other has one.

-They comfort each other after these nightmares, whether its cuddling, getting up and sparring or simply talking.

-Shinra has ADHD.

-Both are terrible at cooking.

-Arthur likes hearing stories about Shinra’s mother and brother.

-Shinra and Arthur fight together on missions and are amazingly in sync.

-Shinra and Arthur both show love through physical touch, insults as terms of endearments and fighting together.

-Arthur calls Shinra petnames all the time, sometimes even changing the gendered term. Which Shinra likes quiet a lot.

-They fight like a married couple

-They are very big on consent, with them constantly asking and checking in with each other as they want each other to be comfortable.

here’s some cryptid pevensie headcanons because the idea lives rent free in my head:

🙧 the first year in narnia, peter quickly learns to be careful of his own strength. at thirteen years old, he can summon up the strength of a fully grown man. it’s humorous at first when he accidentally breaks a glass or throws a battle axe through the target, but as he grows older, his strength grows with him; golden hair and a blue-sky smile belie the strength of river-gods and wolf jaws. it is said that he can best the giants in sheer physical strength, and that the bones of narnia’s enemies seem to crack in two in the high king’s grasp.

🙧 it’s little children who first begin to giggle that queen susan can tell what trouble they’re going to get into before they even start it. they talk of how her eyes seem to cloud over like the the sky before a rainshower and her voice turns firm and unfinching as oak wood, giving them a little fright until she shakes her head and laughs her sunshine laugh, reminding them not to swim very far across the river. mothers know the look in her eyes; soldiers learn to watch for it, to mark the moments where disaster may come swiftly and they must trust in the gentle queen’s uncanny vision.

Real question. Do the 118 know about what happened to Buck and Christopher during the Tsunami?!!?!

Like they must know the basics, the pier, the fire truck, them being separated.

But do they know that Buck saved other people? Do they know that he played eye spy with Christopher to cheer him up? And turned him away from the dead bodies in the water? Do they know he walked for hours trying to find Christopher? That he was injured will looking for him?

More importantly does Eddie know?!?!!

Cause we see that Eddie thinks Buck lost Chris, but doesn’t blame him. But does he know that Buck jumped into the water after Chris something that was damn near suicide?! Does he know the lengths Buck went to try and get Christopher back to him?!!

Cause we never see them discuss this or mention it?!!

And I need them to discuss this. For Eddie to see that Buck will and always has gone to the extremes for Chris. I need Eddie to realise that he made the right choice in putting Buck in his will. I just… I want them to discuss this (not just Buck and Eddie but all the 118)
