a relationship should be fifty-fifty. She lays me gently in the cold dark earth and I crawl home to her.
Iâve been writing on tumblr for maybe close to a month or just a bit over? Iâm not sure how long, but can I just say that I havenât had much trouble on here. Iâve had great feedback and responses to my work and I really appreciate it. So what Iâm about to say isnât about me at all, just about fic writers in general, as clearly some people need to read this.
The thing about fic writers is, we do this completely willingly. We donât get paid to sit for maybe hours at a time composing a fic that might only get 100 notes, most of which being likes which doesnât give it much reach. We donât stress over if a piece is good or not before posting to get a good grade that might help us in the future. At first, we do it for ourselves, then later on we start doing it for other people once we get reach and attention. It is fun, fic writing is so fun because you get to create ideas of your own with characters you and many other people may love.
But fic writing doesnât become fun when itâs forced. Writers shouldnât have to decide on whether to complete an important assignment or complete a fic to satisfy many angry followers mad that there hasnât been a fic update recently. Writers shouldnât have to deal with angry complaints about being denied a fic requests because they arenât comfortable with writing a certain idea or because they just donât want to. Writers shouldnât be criticised on their writing when so much effort went into it, and they did it for themselves. Writers shouldnât feel obliged to write a request because theyâll get backlash if they donât. We write for free, and we write for us, so why do so many people believe it is acceptable to demand new fics from writers or be rude to them?
Writers are people. Just like you. We have our own lives outside of writing, we have our own feelings outside of it too. And you never know what somebody is going through. So your snide comment about how a writer didnât take your request might be the straw that broke the camelâs back.
Thatâs why feedback on posts means so much to us. We spend so much of our free time writing these complex fics on our own accord, so the least someone could do is give it some feedback. Tell the writer what you enjoyed about it, reblog it so other people reach the fic instead of just liking it and not doing anything to help the writer from that point onwards.
What Iâm trying to say is, if you havenât grasped the idea yet, please be nice to fic writers. Instead of demanding a new fic, ask a writer if theyâre okay. Instead of being rude, try being nice, and if you donât have anything nice to say then donât say anything at all. We are still people, just like you.
If youâve gotten this far, thank you and I hope you have a good day. đ
no matter what happened today, you:

Modern!George Weasley x ReaderÂ
Plot: You and your fiance George get ready for and go to family dinner at the Weasley house. (Takes place in modern times, and does not feature magic or the magic world.)
Authorâs Note: My first post, so feel free to message me with requests, compliments, or any criticisms you might have. All are appreciated! Enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âGeorge, have you seen my phone?â you called out to your fiance of six months.Â
âOn the counter, love,â he replied without taking his eyes off the soccer game on television. You grabbed your cell phone off the kitchen counter, then thanked George and kissed his cheek.Â
âWeâre going to your parentsâ as soon as the game is over, so youâd better be ready,â you warned. Molly was not happy with the two of you the last time you were late to family dinner- sheâd gone on an hour long tirade and forced both of you to apologize to the entire family for pushing back their dinnertime by a whole 15 minutes. You still shudder even thinking about it.Â
As the match came to an end, you and George said goodbye to your pets and headed outside to your car, preparing for the hourâs drive to the Weasley household.Â
The home George had grown up in was nothing special; unfortunately, his family had more children than they could really afford, but they managed. Their home was far off in the country and was quite large, equally as rundown, but full of love and laughter. And you loved every bit of it.
Mere seconds after pulling into their driveway, Georgeâs twin brother Fred stepped outside the house to greet you both.
âWell, well, well...look who managed to make it to dinner on time for once,â he smirked. You gave him a light punch to the arm in retaliation.Â
âIt was one time!â You exclaimed. âAnd after what happened last time, Iâll never be late again! I still have nightmares!â Fred and George gave the same chuckle, and the three of you headed inside to say your hellos to the rest of the Weasley clan. Once that was finished, you entered the kitchen to see if Molly needed help with dinner. Based on her frantic chopping of vegetables, you assumed the answer was yes, so you grabbed a knife and started chopping carrots to go into the stew she was making.Â
âOh, thank you, dear. Iâve been trying to get Arthur to help me, but heâs off talking Harryâs ear off about who-knows-what,â she rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless.Â
âMen, right?â
Between the two of you, the vegetables for dinner were all chopped in record time, and before you knew it, dinner was ready. Everyone took their seat at the table, and (as usual) all hell broke loose. Food was being passed around from person to person, hands reached across the table to grab the salt and pepper, and the chatter was loud enough to rival that of a rock concert.Â
You and George caught up with all of his siblings and their significant others, including one of your best friends, Hermione. Within minutes (to no oneâs surprise), Mrs. Weasley interrogated you about your wedding plans.Â
âSurely you have a date in mind, (Y/N).â She continued, âAnd I say the sooner the better!âÂ
âActually, Mum,â George interrupted, âwe were thinking about next spring.â You nodded, smiling at George. He smiled back in return, his sweet, freckled smile.Â
Molly Weasley, also grinning, could not have been happier, and at this moment, neither could you.Â
