But seriously, Bruce Wayne’s self loathing is always so delicious. He’s so used to seeing the underbelly of Gotham, has become so entrenched in the darkness and moral decay of the criminal world, that he can’t believe someone could use their power to be good.

Then comes along Superman, an alien who isn’t as tainted. Who earnestly tries to be good. And it’s so fucking baffling for Bruce because he’s so used to ulterior motives and corruption. He can’t fit him into his world view.

And I just think that the advent of Clark Kent, who disproves everything Bruce has come to believe about power, is the moral reckoning that this version of Batman needs. He reshapes Bruce’s worldview. Is the light that illuminates the darkness that’s grown inside of him.

How can Bruce NOT grasp onto that. Clark, just by being himself, saved Bruce from his own inner darkness. And then he died. Because of Bruce’s refusal to just dig a LITTLE deeper or listen.

I can envision Bruce obsessing over this. Obsessing over being /wrong/ and failing Clark. Eventually just obsessing over Clark…

I don’t know, I’m rambling. But Clark basically saved Bruce from himself and Bruce is a lonely, single, obsessive and poorly adjusted man. How does Bruce NOT fall in love???

im not sure if anyone has talked about this but its driving me insane.

In the JLU episode “the man who has everything”, its supes birthday and diana and bruce go to visit him. bruce just gives him, like, a hundred dollar bills, claiming he doesnt know what to get him. diana, though, was going to give him a rose before it got crushed in battle. all she says is, “theres a new type of rose called ‘the krypton’” or something like that. nothing much else.

In the og comic of the same name, its bruce who gives him the rose.

not only that, he admits that he fucking INVENTED a new breed of rose for him!!! this part has been mentioned before, but thats not my point.

im not sure why they changed it, but i might have an idea.

i have a theory that the showrunners saw this shit and went “this is TOO gay even for them. we cant put this in the show, just have the woman do it. we cant have the kids getting any funny ideas” which is so fucking funny but also fucked up. let the men have their romantic gifts and i think they should revive the show and have an episode dedicated for just bruce and clark to have romantic evening to compensate for this #wakeupamerica #censored
