Dream Work or Dream Magick can refer to a number of different things from the perspective of witchcraft and the occult practitioner. This can include but is not limited to:

Lucid Dreaming - Also known as Oneironautics. The act of becoming aware that you are in a dream. Often the lucid dreamer is able to interact with or even control their dream from inside of it to cultivate a desired experience.

Dream Interpretation - Analyzing dreams to derive meaning from symbolism and interaction that occurs while dreaming.

Dream Divination/ Prophetic Dreams - Also known as Oneiromancy. Often paired with interpretation, the act of gaining premature or previously unknown insight on a situation through dreams.

Dream Spirit Communication - Sending or receiving direct communication from or to spirits in a dreamscape. This can include meeting entities, spirits, gods, etc for the first time, hearing their voice, receiving a sign or confirmation, or even meeting with them face to face.

Dream Shadow Work- Exploring the subconscious and fears through nightmares

and Dream Spellcasting - utilizing dreams to fuel or fulfill a spell. Included in this is intentionally using lucid dreaming to astral travel or cast a particular spell in the dream world.

Cloves

 Cloves

Syzygium aromaticum

Myrtaceae

Description:

Clove comes from a coniferous tree (Clove tree) with dark green slender leaves, which grows in the tropical regions, the flower buds range from cream to red in color, and its berries are purple. Nails are actually sun-dried flower buds.

 Cloves

Medicinal Properties

Cloves are used as well as the essence obtained by steam distillation.

Internal use:

For internal use, Cloves are used to treat physical and intellectual asthenia, dyspepsia, gastric fermentation, flatulence, diarrhea, intestinal parasites, pulmonary diseases (tuberculosis), dental neuralgia and impotence .

It is also used to prepare for childbirth and to prevent infectious diseases.

For all this you can take 2-4 drops of Clove essence 3 times a day in honey or in alcoholic solution.

A few drops of clove oil added to water will stop vomiting.

You can also very simply regularly use the Nails of Cloves in daily cooking.

To prepare for childbirth, use Clove in soups during the last months of pregnancy, then before childbirth take an infusion of Clove.

Against the lack of sexual desire you can make imps also called lozenges aphrodisiacs from Naples.

For this you need 500 parts of sugar, 12 of mastic, 8 of saffron, 1 of musk, 2 of ginger, 2 of cloves, 4 of ambergris, and a sufficient quantity of infused marum. Make it into 0.50 to 1 g lozenges, and take it 4 to 5 times a day.

External use:

In external use, Cloves can be used to treat scabies, infected wounds or not, leg ulcers, corneal sores, dental neuralgia, and lupus. They are also used to repel mosquitoes and insects moths.

For this the best is to use them in the form of pure Clove oil. This gasoline pure can also be used as an umbilical cord dressing, since it is neither toxic nor irritating, and that it is also analgesic.

Cloves can also be used in the form of fumigations, lotions, or compresses.

Against dental neuralgia you can make mouthwashes with Cloves, and against corneal stains you can use fluid aqueous extract.

For lupus use the essence in dilution alcoholic between 5 and 10% in friction.

Against scabies, use Helmerich's ointment (see Lavender).

Finally, to ward off mosquitoes and moths, poke an orange with cloves.

Warning

Please note: the notes on the phytotherapeutic use of plants are purely indicative and do not replace consultation with a doctor.  Absolutely avoid self-medication.  If you are sick, go see a doctor, only he can make a diagnosis and prescribe the best treatment.

Cloves can also be burned in incense to prevent others from telling gossip about you.

Magickal Properties of: Rose

Magickal Properties Of: Rose

Scientific Names:

There are over 300 species of roses, with more than 1000 cultivars. Roses are believed to have first been cultivated in China, historically dating back to 5000 years. The following seem to be the most common varieties that are sold as oils or marketed for magickal use. However, this is only speculation and may not be entirely accurate.

Rosa Gallica - Also known as the French Rose or Apothecary Rose, it is native to southern and central Europe. It is believed that this rose variety was first cultivated by the Greek’s and Romans.

Rosa Centifolia - This type of rose is also sometimes called the Cabbage Rose.

Rosa Damascena - Also known as the Damask Rose or Rose of Castile.

Most Rose oil is derived from the Rosa Centifolia and Damascena varieties. Although they differ a bit in color and fragrance, they share similar properties and uses. Rose oil is also quite expensive. For magickal purposes, it is more economical to use fresh roses or dried rose petals.

Correspondences

Energetic: Receptive

Element: Water

Astrological: Venus, Taurus

Deities: Isis, Hathor, Aphrodite, Demeter, Eros, Hulda, Aurora

Symbolism for Divination or Spell Associations: Love, Fertility, Romance, Protection, Beauty, Luck, Joy, Emotions

Uses

Use in sachets, spell bottles, teas, incense blends, anointing oils, to dress a candle, in a bath.

Use in spells for healing, love, peace, protection, beauty, to avoid conflict, to calm stress and to resolve problems peacefully.

Rose is one of the most versatile plants. Rose petals can be incorporated into any spell, ritual or meditation to enhance its effects. Rose is particularly potent in workings that focus on protection because roses protect in the energetic vibration of love and compassion. Roses have a fierce, yet gentle energy.

A single rose placed inside a glass of water on an altar can be used as a singular, but powerful focus for a spell.

Use rose petals in a bath to encourage beauty, healing and to attract love.

Carry rose petals in a sachet for protection.

Sprinkle rose petals in the home or around a space to resolve conflict and calm upheavals.

Roses planted in a garden are said to attract faeries.

Rose petals blended into a tea can induce prophetic dreams and assist with divination.

Use rose thorns to carve sigils into candles to enhance the spell.

Notes

If you are going to drink rose as a tea, or burn it as an incense, be sure to research thoroughly and buy your roses at food grade quality from a reputable source. Not all roses are grown for consumption and may have been exposed to dangerous pesticides and/or chemicals to help preserve them once cut. If you ingest roses that have been treated with chemicals, they may irritate the digestive tract.

Rose water is very good for the skin.

Roses also carry correspondences with spiritual enlightenment in some sacred traditions.

duality/gender: passive/feminine

elements: air, water

planets: moon, mercury, venus

day of the week: wednesday

astrology signs: pisces, cancer

WARNING: Eucalyptus can not be consumed. Taking 3.5 mL of undiluted oil can be fatal. Even applying too much to the skin and absorbing large amounts is dangerous. (Use it very lightly, dilute it, or use a humidifier.) Signs of eucalyptus poisoning might include stomach pain and burning, dizziness, muscle weakness, small eye pupils, feelings of suffocation, and some others. Eucalyptus changes how many medicines break down in the liver. Eucalyptus should not be applied to the face, especially the nose, of infants and young children. Avoid using it in infants.

Eucalyptus Correspondences

Eucalyptus will: Help with all forms of healing, protect your home, enhance your financial success

The plant: Eucalyptus is native to Australia, Africa, India, and southern Europe. It is a very fast-growing tree with leathery leaves that contain an aromatic oil. When the flowers bud, they’re covered with a cup-like membrane, which drops off when the flowers open. The fruit are also cup-shaped and contain numerous tiny seeds.

Magical properties: The dried flowers make a powerful stuffing for poppets to be used for healing, emotional, spiritual, and physical ailments. Sprinkle the oil around the inside of your home to raise the spiritual vibration and dispel any residual negative energy. If you’re feeling financially strapped, rub the oil on your money to ensure abundance. To ward off illness, hand the dries leaves over your front door. If you sleep with the leaves under your pillow, they will induce sweet dreams and prevent colds.

Medicinal uses: Eucalyptus oil is one of the most powerful antiseptics. It’s also believed to increase cardiac strength. When the oil is added to boiling water, the steam helps break up a chest cold.

I Made A Crystal Grid And Moon Phase Tracker Tonight. I Used A Paint Your Own Mandala From Dollar General

I made a crystal grid and moon phase tracker tonight. I used A paint your own mandala from dollar general that I painted over black with blue and splatter some blue, purple, and white on it. I used metallic craft marker for the grid lines and moon stickers for the moon, I had to doctor them up a bit to make it work. Now for a clear coat of poly and then all done.

I’ve Been Doing A Lot Of Things With Beads Lately, And I Wanted To Make Something For My Hermes Altar.
I’ve Been Doing A Lot Of Things With Beads Lately, And I Wanted To Make Something For My Hermes Altar.

I’ve been doing a lot of things with beads lately, and I wanted to make something for my Hermes altar. So here’s a necklace I made, this one fits over my head too, so it’s actually wearable ʕ •ᴥ•ʔb⋆·₊˚☆

I used tiger’s eye beads, because I asscoiate it with luck and prosperity and Hermes is considered a bringer of good luck and fortune. I also made some of the tiger’s eye beads into the pupils of four eye charms with wire and string.

The eyes are meant to represent Argos, the many-eyed giant that Hermes slew. They also represent an epithet of Hermes I’ve read about that I really like, which is Euskopos (Ευσκοπος), meaning watchful or keen-sighted. (There are also so many other epithets of his that I like a lot, but this one was easier to represent in this project.)

I used some black agate beads too, mostly because I like how they brought some contrast to the whole look. The alternation actually kinda reminds me of the stripes of a bee, a very active and always-moving creature which reminds me of another one of his epithets, Poneomenos (Πονεομενος), which means busy one 。⋆·₊˚ᕕ( ─ v ─)ᕗ

I also incorporated the number four in this necklace as much as I could, since that’s a symbol if his as well. With four eyes in total and four smaller beads in between the bigger ones.

To finish it off and add more of a central point, I made a tassel out of black string, added some beads onto the top string and attatched it at the middle point with two eyes on each side.

I am very pleased with the overall look of this necklace, I’m epsecially happy with how the eyes turned out since they were kinda fiddly to make. I terms of shape and how I built the necklace, I kinda just went with what I felt like and didn’t really base it off of much else. But yeah, I really like how it turned out! <|:^)

Coloured Threads - Bracelets

Red Thread - protection against enemies, malefica, gossip, evil spirits, afflictions of health. Serves well to overcome enemies, against the evil eye, invite love, luck, joy and auspiciousness.

Blue Thread - protection against evil words, evil eye, healing melancholy, subduing fiery aspects that detriment the person (such as harsh tempers and excessive work), dark blue aids in spirituality and legalities.

Green Thread - in correspondence to my previous posts on the colour green. Darker greens seem to help more strongly with works relating to love and herbal medicine. Mixing it with red thread combines the aspect of Fauna and Flora essentially combining two aspects of the forces of Nature. Aids healers.

Black Thread - good for saturnine spells, wards off malefica, enemies, evil spirits. Bringing good fortune, honours, dominating enemeis and incredibly strong protective spells.

White Thread - protection, blessing, peace, healing. Good in combination to red in spells to remove evil and protect the person against inauspiciousness. Strengthens lunar qualities in the person.

Yellow Thread - I can't help but think of pestillence when I think of Yellow so I would view this as a colour for protection against sickness, bestowing good fortune and healing pestillence. I remember Backwoods Shamanism making reference to the colour yellow being used to petition the spirits related to the sickness to either inflict or leave the person afflicted.

Rain Summoning Spell

This spell is really easy and simple! It doesn’t take much time or setup, so its good for those that need rain in their area or want to help encourage a small storm, but don’t have much time!

Vape, for the smoke. You can also use a cigarette if you smoke. NOTE: Please don’t pick up a cigarette or vape if you don’t already smoke! You can find a substitute!

Cup

Map - If you don’t have a paper map, pull out your phone/ipad and pull up google maps in the area that you want it to rain in!

Rice

Pull your map up or out, and set your cup on top of the area that you want it to rain in. You can use any type of cup or mug, although I prefer clear glass or a copper mug if I have it available, with no stem. Just make sure the cup is well situated over the area that you want the rain in… if you want it in a bigger area a phone or iPad actually works better because you can zoom out.

Think of your intent, and don’t stop thinking of it.

Now take your vape (or whatever you are using for the smoke) and take a drag, and then exhale into the cup so that the vapor gets trapped inside. I wouldn’t exhale too hard, or you may end up causing some crazy wind and/or just blow it all out of the cup. The idea is to get it trapped inside the cup, at least for a small bit! The vapor smoke represents clouds.

Now remember your intent! Take a handful of that rice, and slowly sprinkle it into the cup through the smoke. You can say an incantation here if you like as well. If you want heavier rain, drop more rice! Its adjustable to what you want to achieve. But thats it!

Enjoy!

I thought it could be useful in spells and knot magic !

In the Celtic tradition, nettles are great to ward off spirits when worn, protect your home and may also boost your sexual performances if placed under the mattress.

Broke Witch Tips - Magic on a Budget

As capitalism sets its sights on the witchcraft community, it’s easy to get caught up in all the stuff that companies try to sell you.

Alas, not all of us have the money to spend on expensive items. If we're being honest, you probably don't need such items to begin with.

For those that are curious, however, let's talk about how to do magic on a budget.

Vintage style background with hands opening an empty wallet. Icons of a small bottle, a sachet, and mortar with pestle in vintage a vintage art style sit around words that say "Magic on a Budget".

First things first, reframe what you think magic is.

Magic is not what you buy.

It’s not pricey crystals, expensive altar tools, and pretty bottles. As fun as those are, they aren't necessary to practice magic.

All you need to create magic is yourself, your intentions, and your actions.

Still, I said I would talk about how to do magic on a budget, so here are some tips that I have picked up along the way as a broke witch.

Broke Witch Tips

Upcycle what you already have into magical tools. Plenty of the stuff you already own can be used for magic. Make a simmer pot in that old cooking pot. Use the kitchen spices as your herbs in spells.

Thrift stores are great for finding cool bottles and boxes to put your herbs and other magical items in. Also great for spell bottles/jars!

You don’t need every herb under the sun, many of the most accessible (and cheapest) herbs have similar, if not the same, correspondences as the expensive ones.

Buy herbs from the grocery store or farmers market, if possible.

If you have a green thumb, grow the herbs yourself!

Tarot cards can be expensive, but you can use a deck of regular playing cards for cartomancy if needed! There are also options such as tarot apps and websites that allow you to use their digital tarot decks for free.

Make your own tarot or oracle deck if you're artistic and have the time/energy to do so!

You don’t need to have an expensive cast-iron cauldron, just find a fire safe bowl or container. For me, I use a handmade bowl that I got at a fair in my hometown! Works like a charm.

The dollar store is a great place to find inexpensive candles, usually they’re tea lights but you might get lucky and even find some chime candles.

If you're working with deities: plenty of them like hand-made items for offerings! So you don’t need to go out and break the bank just to buy an expensive statue.

This is not a post to shame the folks who own expensive things for witchcraft. I’m sure most of us would agree that if we had the money to go all out, we certainly would! This is just a post for those of us that can’t afford costly goods but would still like to have physical items when practicing magic.

Feel free to add your tips for practicing low-cost magic!

Have a lovely day <3

Reminder, solar eclipse water!!!

If you live in America mark on your calendars that August 21 will be the solar eclipse. It will peak at 2:44pm EST ( do a bit of research to see what you’ll be able to see and your locally occurring time).

I also highly suggest you collect solar eclipse water during this time. Solar eclipse water is good for supercharging spells to give it an extra kick if you need it as well as it works very well for spells involving transformation, change, or release.

Old Gods

when was the last time when you touched the earth?

lowered your head, bent your knees, buried your hands in the life giving grass and rich dirt? close your eyes, listen closely to the rustle of leaves, the song of the wind, the heartbeats of birds. feel the sun on your back, feel as it colours you in shimmers of gold. feel the life around you, never ending and never stopping, old voices singing the same hymn since the beginning of time.

take a deep breath. open your eyes.

you’ll see them.
