i’m so??? emotional about this line. truly a passing sentence in a bigger scene that made me felt Seen and Known

i think a lot of its impact is because it wasn’t a Big Thing™️. the scene didn’t grind to a halt to mention pete’s transness, the language used wasn’t anachronistic and fits right into the historical setting.

transness is just another facet of who pete conlan is: he’s someone’s descendant, he’s quick-witted and fast-talking, he’s A Mess sometimes, and he’s trans

trans people existing as fully realised people with hopes and dreams, pasts and futures to come; it just means a lot to me
