i know that a common aspect people explore in the wolverine comics is like. him holding back from his bloodlust and need for violence. but I create what i want to see in the world:
The base instinct of people is Empathy. Animals have empathy. It was the first sign that we as humans…became human.
So I prefer to explore his innate belief that violence is all he’s capable of. That his hands are cursed, rough, painful. He’s not a good man, but he cares so much. I want people to KNOW how much he cares.
Show the tears, show the self inflicted pain. Show the messy, emotional side to believing your whole life that no one loves you.
They all love what you can do. And you learn to scrape their compliments (their love) off the floor, avoiding the underhanded comments about his idiocy about his bluntness. All so he can pretend, for one moment, that he matters.
I also know that the x men can be dicks sometimes but i wanna redeam them so they get to be standoffish pricks that eventually learn how to be nice and realize that our boy needs therapy and a hug i am. making myself cry it's not late enough for this gd
