reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru ah the eye glint!! i like how the fic prefaces it with “the right thing to say” sort of emphasising how wrong and hollow his eyes must've looked to shizuo that's a really nice crunch to the bark in that panel izaya's... deadpan expressions are a good contrast they kill the mood so well dhshds oh hey i didn't notice shizuo throwing izaya back wasn't detailed in the fic here huh well that's a nice choice for impact i love the way you draw izaya's cloud fluff even in his little silhouettes <3 he looks sooo small and pathetic in that next panel i looove also have i mentioned how much i adore the way you rounded out his design throughout the comic because i love the thick puffy look of his sleeves ooh i'm making the connection rn between the cicada panels they're both moments related to the idea of “stopping izaya for good" maybe because they're loud and annoying and leave the shape of themselves all over the place initially i just vaguely associated their symbol to izaya being at this low and having to bring himself back up from there like rebirth but maybe it's also emphasising the way shizuo neeeeds to shut up this noise and finally stop him from ever coming back also i guess izaya feeling like a shell of his ideals after killing someone having to strip off that skin and find himself proper i like the anticipation pose of izaya getting back up with blood running down his wound onto his pants flip knife woo i like the fun shape and flow of the panelling here the knife going thonk on the ground panel fits into its shape really satisfyingly and this izaya looks awesome!! his expression and the perspective on that knife woooo the tree smearing across the panel borders like that is pretty cool the pacing of these last two panels is so fun i love that brief second of silence that carries so much weight before the *chase* izaya's coat <33 love the fun shape it makes and the fluff zipping along with the motion
