i understand the sentiment behind “dont buy bunnies as easter gifts” because their survival rates after the fact are abysmal and people are heavily misinformed about rabbits and how much of a (expensive) commitment they are, but i keep thinking like. 1) i am very rabbit educated i like to think and would cry tears of joy if i got my own easter bunny, 2) branching off that idea, as long as the person knows what theyre in for, the holiday itself should be a nonissue, which 3) brings me also to the final point that people who are miseducated on rabbit husbandry should never have a bunny gifted to them PERIOD, not just the misnomer of Only on easter. “Dont gift bunnies on easter” should just be “dont gift a bunny at all unless you understand the demands of their care, period”. then we’d have every base covered.
