Child is Not a Mother!
This may be coming from an initially selfish point of view, but that's also what I think as a woman (I'm just feeling tired and totally exhausted).
So, let's talk about men! There is no institution more illusory and disgraceful than that of MEN. Currently, my country (Brazil🇧🇷) is going through a situation that disgusts all socially and politically conscious people. Men are voting to establish that RAPE victims, whether children, teenagers or women, continue with their pregnancy. And in the case of abortion, the MEN who are sitting in their fancy FUCKING chairs have determined that they should be IMPRISONED for up to 20 YEARS, while their ABUSERS will only be imprisoned for 8 YEARS (if they are convicted or never get out again or early for good behavior).
I just don't know what else to say about this other than just barely being able to express how disgusting this is! It's getting harder every day not to hate men just for breathing. I personally have no desire to start a family with a man who can possibly brutalize me in every possible way! I keep thinking about the novels I read, the novels I write, that the majority of the period romance community idealizes men and I feel disappointed. Sometimes, I just want to continue living in this fantasy world, romcom's etc.
Is it so wrong that I want this, when men should just be taught to be men? Respecting your mothers, sisters, girlfriends, daughters, co-workers?
So may God protect all of us who are somehow powerless under a society that glorifies violent criminals.
