In which David Dobrek falls for Natalie's best friend.
I sighed as I reread my class notes that we're scribbled on the notebook paper. My professor decided to bump up the exam and I hadn't studied yet because I took a few extra shifts at the diner.
I'm startled when 'Oath' by Cher Llyod goes off signalling Natalie calling. I quickly answer hoping that this will ease my mind a bit, "hello?" I hear her whisper to someone before talking, "hey, you busy?" I run a hand through my hair and sigh, "yeah, Mr.Collens is a dick. He moved the exams to tomorrow." My best friend laughs, "and you haven't studied?" I let out a sarcastic laugh, "yeah because I have so much free time." She pauses, "how many shifts have you worked in the last week Dalilah?" I squeeze my eyes shut knowing she's gonna yell again, "6, maybe 14," I mumble making her groan. "You can't over work yourself D, you'll exhaust your body." I nod even though she can't see me, "I know Nat, I'm sorry. I just need extra money and little shifts here and there aren't cutting it anymore." The brunette on the other side of the phone sighs, "how much longer till you graduate?" I laugh lightly knowing why she's asked, "two more months then I'll come visit." She scoffed, "visit? Bitch you know you'll be moving in." I laugh knowing it's true. Her boss, David, had said it would be cool if I stayed for a while to get on my feet. I'm getting my jornalism degree and Nat did research and in LA they have some really good jobs available for jornalism. "Yeah, yeah. Look I love you but if I want to pass this exam I gotta study." She sighed dramatically, "fine but we'll talk later. Love ya." "Love you too Nattybug."
