i was thinking about these. and i wanted to see where exactly they appeared in this show and analyze what they looked like. and i started to notice some patterns.

the places i list them appearing are not the ONLY places they show up, but they are the ones relevant to this theory, because i noticed that some appear more often in some episodes than others.

EDITED AFTER LOOKING AT CONCEPT ART because i realized i had gotten some details wrong in jobs, death, and electricity. revised the symbols + added/revised description.

Dhmis theory #1

I believe that Lesley killed her son David and created the doll house and puppets to deal with her grief. We know that Lesley controls what goes on for the most part. And in episode 5 we are showed a scene of Yellow guy chasing a bird with a car approaching, Lesley's voice yells for him to be careful , then waking up right before he gets hit. Lesley hit her son David, killing him. In her horror and grief she created a doll house and three puppets to got with it. A duck like their pet, their neighbor, and a yellow child. Keeping spares so she won't lose anyone any more. Making lessons that she couldn't teach David. Family, friendship, jobs, transportation, death electricity, and etc. In episode 6 she yells at s.art Yellow guy "You're not my son." She knows none of this is real, David is gone and nothing can fix that.
