I honestly can believe that Shang Chao could have set-up this kidnapping for ALL the E-Soul contestants so he can outshine that version over the original to ramp-up his own business.
But I do agree.
It would absolutely funny if Shang Chao didn’t even think of Yang Cheng, even high-key hilarious if he actually HATED Yang Cheng on the down low. XD
Especially if it's that Two faced charming/arrogant rich prince.
GUYS! I know the theory of Shang Chao being behind the kidnapping in order to mold Yang Chen as a hero is popular...
But wouldn't it be funnier if he made the kidnapping request but has zero mind for Yang Chen?
Like imagine you're the ambitious type of guy who would stage a kidnapping in order to further whatever goal you had in mind and possibly raise your Trust Value
But then, out of the freaking blue, comes a Zero-Trust-Value-No name-Punk came running to play hero, manage to chase after a car with a bike, fight toe-to-toe with two armed guys, and tap into E-Soul's ability, and ruin all your carefully curated plan
And Shang Chao would just be gaping on the side and thinking, "YANG CHEN?! Fucking Yang Chen?! How did he– where did he– you know what? I'm fine. This is fine. Let's salvage this. You wanna be a hero, Yang Chen? Fine. I'll make sure you'll be MY hero "
