@rody-soul asked: "So... bitable asses, huh? Giving out your thoughts to everyone here?"

Katsuki was smirking. "Yeah." The smirk widened into a grin. "You want a rating too, pretty boy~?"

"That's. Certainly a response to me getting a 70%. Do as you please, I guess?"

Katsuki looked like he was about ready to bite Rody. It wasn't like he was above doing that either. "Do you want me to wreck your ass right now? Cuz I ain't fuckin' opposed."

"Do you really doubt how much I know about you, Katsuki?"

"Oi! These results don't fuckin' count if Deku told you all of the damn answers!"

“Well well, look who finally came around. Thanks, Blondie.”

“…Happy birthday to Noodle Hair, or whatever…” Katsuki grumbled.

It was hard to miss the earlier back and forth conversation, especially with Bakugou involved. It was hard to ignore any conversation the loud blonde took part in. The hero always held himself so high-up; was always so snarky and confident. It would be amazing to see him get scared something small in a supposedly ‘haunted’ house.

That something small? Pino.

Rody had taken the time to quickly prepare a small piece of fabric for Pino to be covered in. Now she had her own little ghost costume. Rody made sure to run on ahead and climb up one of the trees, checking that he was in a good position to at least hear any reaction Bakugou may have had. He had to suppress his chuckles as soon as he saw the blonde approach and enter the house.

Letting the silence and nerves build up for a good while, Pino hid as she let Bakugou get a feel for the place. When she felt the timing was right, she flew toward the blonde with a loud squawk.

Ghost Hunting with Bakugou (open starter)

How in the ever loving fuck did he let Kaminari talk him into doing this shit?! The dumbasses in his friend group were spooking each other with scary stories and, unsurprisingly, Bird Brain was the one who came up with the only legitimately creepy one. 

There was mention of an abandoned house in the forest that led up the hill to U.A. that too many people had been too scared to go to. Allegedly, it was haunted by a family that was murdered there, but there was no documented proof of it. Katsuki thought it was a bunch of bullshit. 

Pikachu and Tape Arms decided to dare him to go there at night to prove them wrong. Of course, he refused up until they challenged him and like a damn played fiddle, he gave in. 

So now, Katsuki stood in front of an old dilapidated house with nothing but a flashlight and an EMF meter in his hand (courtesy of Deku, that damn nerd). 

“…This is just gonna be a waste of my fuckin’ time…” he grumbled to himself before entering one of the busted out windows of the house.

“YOU BETTER PREPARE YOUR ASS FOR A BEATING!” Katsuki yelled, now beyond heated up to put this annoying bastard in his place. 

Rody could only smile and nod at a threat like that.

“Did you wanna do it now, or at a later time and place?” Rody was already starting to stretch his legs while waiting for the answer. “I want you at the best of your ability, of course. It wouldn’t be any fun if you’re slacking.”

Katsuki bristled predictably. It was like taunting a puppy with a dog treat. “HAHH??!?!” 

He glared outright at Noodle Hair. “Fat fuckin’ chance, Noodle Hair!” he yelled. “I can beat your ass with or without my Quirk!” 

That was exactly the reaction he had expected. Bakugou was always fun to tease; free entertainment.

“Oh, you really think so? Do you accept the challenge then?” Rody wasn’t worried about losing in the slightest. If he so happened to lose though, he was going to have to deal with a loud, boasting, Bakugou. He would rather not listen to that. But he didn’t know what he would be in for when Bakugou would lose.

The brunette narrowed his eyes at the blonde in thought. He was silent for dramatic effect as he sized up the hero.

Then his expression fell into his usual smile with a hint of snark mixed in.

“I bet I could beat you in a race. Without quirk-use, of course. Those explosions of yours would give you too much of an advantage.”

“Finally, something we can agree on.”

“I’m not ashamed to admit it…”

Katsuki sneered wide as the inkling of a blush crossed his face. “I’d let Deku crush me with his thighs.” It’d be his ideal way to die.

Katsuki narrowed his eyes as Noodle Hair approached him. “How the hell did you find out–?!” he snapped before pausing. “Did Deku tell you?!” He made the mental note to hit the damn nerd later. Why’d that dumbass always have to blab about his birthday to everyone?!

He stood in waiting, already looking weary at the very idea of a present from the bastard in front of him. 

Then, he saw it. Rody flipped him off and Katsuki wanted nothing more than to rip the finger off of Noodle Hair’s hand. He could feel his eye twitching. Several veins popped out from his forehead and his hands sparked with heat. 

Those small sparks were the only warning Rody got before the living powder keg had exploded. Katsuki’s arms shot out behind him before he unleashed two massive explosions from his hands and charged.

“BET YOU WON’T BE SO SMUG AFTER I EXPLODE YOUR FUCKIN’ FACE OFF, YOU ASSHOLE!” he shouted as he continued propelling himself forward. 

Deku better watch his back. He was next.

"Hmm, maybe. Maybe not." Is all he said in response to the question about Deku.

Rody, of course, knew the risks of provoking Bakugou like this. That's why he was already standing a good distance away. He was enjoying the hero's reaction at first, but once Bakugou was actually coming for him-

That was his signal to run.

"Woah!" There was a concerned laugh as he took off, Pino flying along side him, chirping in a panic. "Come on! We can both laugh about this, Bakugou!" He called over his shoulder.

Katsuki’s stance relaxed further when Noodle Hair confirmed that the kid was okay. One less thing to worry about…

Honestly, he barely remembered shit from his stay in that hospital. He was too  busy bitching about the pain he felt from his injuries to pay much attention to anything else. He glanced between the two siblings and gave a nod. “I kinda figured it out by the hair,” he bluntly admitted. 

He would have said something else but was quickly interrupted by Burnin’ and a police car arriving on the scene. 

“Bakugou!” The hero was wrapping capture tape around the villain and helping the police lift the man up. She grinned over at him. “Nice job!” 

“Yeah, yeah!” He huffed. Though, even with his nonchalant reaction, there was a hint of a smirk on his lips. 

“You can go back to the Agency if you want!” she added before helping to haul off the robber. 

Katsuki just shrugged. Not like his shift was likely gonna get much more exiting than that. “Alright.” 

With that taken care of, he refocused his attention back on Rody. He raised an eyebrow. “So why the hell are you here?” The question was still burning in the back of his head. “Deku didn’t tell me shit about you visiting.” 

The hair? Ah, the noodle hair. Of course. How could he forget?

Rody stepped back with his siblings when the pro and police arrived. While Bakugou interacted with them, Rody continued to comfort Roro and Lala, giving them comforting head rubs and words of reassurance. It also allowed him a moment to properly breathe.

He almost wanted to tell the other off for swearing in front of the kids, but he would let it slide this time.

"Oh, Deku doesn’t know I’m here, actually.” There was a sheepish rub to the back of his head, messing up his ponytail a bit as his other arm adjusted its hold around Roro. “It’s kind of a surprise? We wanted to spend a day or two by ourselves to explore the city before meeting up with Deku.” Knowing how he was, if Deku knew he and his siblings were coming, he would have wanted to pitch in and help- but Rody wanted to do this on his own. Additionally, Deku was probably busy with school, or even with patrols like Bakugou was. Rody didn’t want to overwhelm the hero by showing up in the middle of the week. He could wait till the weekend.

Oh.

“Don’t tell him that. Or that you saw me-” Unless the three of them went to see him today instead. Which wasn’t always a bad idea, it just wasn’t the original plan.

An expected response from the hot-headed blonde, but he was happy to hear the concern after. Rody smiled gently as he analyzed his brother yet again, brushing back his hair to get a clear view of his face. "He's fine. Just really shaken up." He confirmed, glancing over at Pino on the boy's shoulder, seeing that she was still an emotional wreck. That checked out; Rody felt like his legs would give out underneath him if he allowed them to.

Lala made her way to hold onto her big brother's leg, shedding her own tears, and he could have collapsed in his siblings arms at that moment. But he wouldn't let himself right now. Not in front of the hero.

"I guess you never got to properly meet my siblings." His voice sounded a bit strained but he pushed through it. The only time Bakugou would've ever seen the two of them was in the hospital after the Humarise incident. Rody gestured to the boy in his arms with his head. "This is Roro." Then he looked down at the youngest holding onto him. "And this is Lala." She gave the hero the smallest of waves.

Katsuki knew that patrols were part of the job, but they also bored him to tears if there were no crimes happening. It was just walking around through your assigned precinct and helping old folks across the street. The most he’d done earlier was stop a dumbass purse snatcher. It was low-grade bullshit that was easily taken care of. 

He was about to radio in to Endeavor when he saw a villain zoom by out of the corner of his eye. The villain was carrying what appeared to be a sack of money and zipping between obstacles with what appeared to be... sand...? “What the fuck...?!” he exclaimed out loud before immediately jumping into action. 

A sneer crossed his face, much like the joy that would glimmer in a predator’s eyes before pouncing on their prey. “Guess I gotta kick some fuckin’ teeth in!” he exclaimed before blasting off into the air with his hands outstretched. 

He caught up with the villain in no time--

--only to be faced with said villain holding a kid up in front of him like a shield. 

“If you blast me, you’re only gonna hurt the kid!” the older man exclaimed. “Let me go and maybe I’ll decide to let the kid go free!” 

Katsuki scowled at the cowardice of the villain. “What? Can’t face me head-on so ya gotta go involve kids in this shit?” he huffed. “Fuck, you’re lame--!” 

At the young boy, he shouted, “Watch your head, kid!” He leapt up into the air and aimed what were machine gun-like concentrated explosions all around the villain. Each shot hit the pavement around them, kicking up gravel and dust. Though they looked scattered, they were also highly precise strikes that destabilized the ground. One such hit was able to directly hit the back of the villain’s head and knock him entirely unconscious. 

Though, just as the robber went to hit the ground, Katsuki quickly braced the man just so he could grab the kid out of the guy’s arms. Whirling around, he placed the boy onto his feet. “You okay, kid?” he asked before pausing. He furrowed his eyebrows when one particular feature stuck out to him. The hair.

“Oi, are you related to----?”

He didn’t get the chance to finish his question because the kid was already running towards his older brother in tears.

Shit. Shit. Shit!

He was sprinting as if his life depended on it. One sibling was in his arms while the other was being chased after. This couldn’t be happening, damn it! How did this happen? Why Roro out of all kids?!

He was incredibly locked on target and nothing was going to get in his way- but what the hell was he going to do once he made it to the villain? He didn’t know but he would do whatever he could do-

Boom!

Rody’s steps hesitated at the sound as eyes set onto the hero. Oh, thank god. His running came to a brief pause as he let the hero do his job. He was holding his breath while watching the scene play out, worriedly watching his brother. The brunette was finally able to breathe once Roro was safely on the ground.

“Roro!” His voice was mixed with desperation and relief at the sight of his little brother being saved. He set Lala down carefully before running and meeting Roro half way in a very tight hug. Roro sobbed into him while Rody gave him comforting back rubs. Fuck- he hated it when his siblings cried. They didn’t deserve to experience any more sadness than they already had.

“Are you okay, Roro?” The older brother pulled away to look at the crying kid nod in response. Rody brought up his gloved hands to wipe away the tears. “Good. Good.” A big inhale and exhale to release his stress as his hands rested on tear-stained cheeks.

“I’m sorry for not paying attention more closely, but you gotta stay close to me, buddy. This is a big and unfamiliar city so you have to hold onto me and your sister. Do you understand?” The boy gave another sad nod in response as Rody proceeded to lift him up into his arms. The pink bird that seemed to follow him wherever he went had tears in her eyes as she snuggled close to the kid.

Now gray eyes finally met familiar red. The contact was held before Rody finally found his voice again.

“...Thank you, Bakugou.” That felt a little weird to say, but his words were full of gratitude. “Seriously, from the bottom of my heart: Thank you...”

Rody was personally enjoying Bakugou's reactions with how riled up he was getting over something like this.

"Sure sure, of course not." He echoed in a heavily teasing tone. Should he be flattered that the blonde was jealous of him out of all people? A strong and powerful childhood friend of Deku's, who also strived to be a hero, was jealous of Rody: a scrawny former criminal with little money and recognition to his name.

"The feeling's mutual then." Rody did trust him as a hero though. He proved himself during the Humarise situation. "Why would I ever hurt him? Geez, you really do have no faith in me." It's cause you're practically a stranger to him, Rody. "But rest-assured, you won't be kicking my ass any time soon or in the far future."

"Interesting that you're this protective of him though." He quickly mumbled out. Maybe Rody had a death wish.

"Mhm, keep telling yourself that."

Rody had to admit, not aloud of course, that the blonde did have a point. The two of them did get super close in a short timeframe. They only had each other while running from the law, which gave them an ample amount of time to learn about each other.

"Well, we were on the run. We both almost died. Going through that kind of stuff usually brings people closer together." Pino started to peek out of Rody's hair, showing interest in the conversation.

"It's funny how you don't trust me simply because I became friends with Deku. Yet Deku seems like the type of person who makes friends easily. Do you yell at all of his friends like this? Do you ask all of them if they have feelings for him?"

"What...?" So Rody did hear him correctly before.

"He's my friend and a hero. It's not unusual to look at him with admiration." Rody pointed to his own head, poking at it a few times with a sly grin. "You're imagining things. Though, you approaching me about this out of all things is quite interesting."

There was a pause for dramatic effect, Rody's grin only getting bigger.

"Are you jealous?"

"Oi, Noodle Hair--" Katsuki approached the other teen with an expression that seemed like a mix of irritation and weariness. His heated red eyes narrowed at Noodle Hair as he asked a question that had been on his mind for a long time. "--What are your feelings towards Deku?"

He stopped where he was, slowly turning around.

"Noodle hair..?" Oh, it was that explosive blonde friend of Deku's. They never had a moment alone together so this approach was definitely strange. The expression on his face was concerning though; what could have Rody done to cause that?
