I'm a sort of felinette fan... đŠđ«đđŹđź
Hey guys! So I was getting bored and I decided to write you guys another salt request I got over on ao3 by TheREALGhostSpider who wanted a little bit of Felix and I decided why not work and post it now?
Hope you all enjoy!
Marinette is sick and tired of Cat Noir not coming to help her with akuma's because she won't go on a date with him! Is he a child in secret!? Because why else would he throw a tantrum each time she says no as Ladybug!? To hell with his claims of them being soulmates! They weren't meant to be together like he and Alya claim it to be! She was even more pissed because one night he detransformed like an idiot before her as Marinette and said that it was "fine" and that "his lady would understand that this was needed" and in the end.
He never told her as Ladybug...
As a result she was done with him, done with her crush on Adrien and done with having him as her partner... So during an akuma attack she messages him, she begs to him to come help her, how she was wrong to ignore there love for one another and how he was right about them being soulmates and that if he does come... She would kiss him so Alya could post it on her blog as the first to announce them a couple.
Of course he comes running! But he is horrified at how things turn out...
Alya livestreams as Ladybug leans in... And snatched the ring from him, she announces him retired and a bad influence to there fans with the way he acts, she also revealed that "Marinette" told her about him detransforming before her and never told her about it and that she didn't love him, never will and is done with him as her partner before telling Alya that the next lie she posts on her blog will cause it to be taken down.
As a result, Alya ignores her and posts a rant video about how stupid Ladybug was for taking the ring... With Lila talking with her in agreement and still claiming that they are friends... Not even a few minutes into posting the video... The blog is deleted and they are both sent emails about lawsuits for lying about Ladybug, this resulted in there classmates glaring at the two girls for lying about there favorite superhero.
One day, Felix who is Adrien's cousin transfers to there class... Of course none of them liked him but Marinette saw him as the partner she needed in the end, so she secretly left in his room the ring for him to put on and become her new partner named Panther, of course Alya was a Cat Noir fan and demanded for his return while Adrien tried to go after Ladybug to have her open her eyes about them.
Panther of course was informed of everything by Plagg and Ladybug who left him a letter to explain what happened before he got the ring, this made Felix not proud of his cousin... As for Hawkmoth, he began to fear Panther because he was actually listening to his partner and akuma battles began to end faster then before, as a result Hawkmoth knew that soon he would be uncovered and arrested for his crimes towards Paris.
Meanwhile... Adrien is angry at the fact that Ladybug has taken away his ring and has still rejected him, as a result... Adrien decided to go with the classes 'Everyday Ladybug' Marinette in the hopes that it will make Ladybug either jealous or realize her mistake into taking his ring away... Without knowing that Felix was way ahead of him, it turns out that while the rest of the class hated Felix for causing a trio akumatization of Alya, Rose and Juleka... Mari was joining him for things and getting to know him better, as a result Felix gained romantic feelings for her and decided to try and go out with her.
Sometimes he would help out at her parent's bakery, other times he would her with deliveries or when she is designing something, his favorite moments are when it's just the two of them listening to music that one of them enjoys and reading a book together to let time pass a bit... Those were moments that he enjoyed because the way she looked would be kept in his memory and then he would draw her, of course she knew this because sometimes he would sketch her at that very moment but she never minded at all when it happened.
After a while... He asks her out on a date, she of course accepts and goes out with him on a date to the movies... With time they begin to go out on more dates until he asks her to become his girlfriend making her smile and accept to be his girlfriend, the same happened to Panther and Ladybug because Mari revealed to Felix her identity making him happy to be trusted with this information as they became a cute couple... And Panther was titled the better partner to Ladybug which angers Adrien.
They had been dating for two weeks before Adrien began flirting with Mari and trying to take her out on a date, of course because she is dating Felix... She rejects him and walks away to be with her boyfriend which gives Lila and Chloe a chance to be with Adrien for a bit, the blonde is angry since even Mari is rejecting him, after a while Adrien is ready to really get Mari by getting her fabrics, sketchbooks and other things he was certain she would love... But sees her kissing his cousin.
Furious that his cousin took his princess from him, he tries to get Felix sent back to London so he can try and be with Mari... Only to watch him get taken by police with Nathalie one day as he comes home from school... Gabriel and Nathalie were sentenced to jail time for there crimes against Paris, while all this was happening, Gabriel admitted that he had Lila willingly working for him to akumatize people... His main target being Marinette as he informed the police that Lila is a liar and will more then likely claim that she didn't know that she was working for him.
Just as claimed, Lila denied working with Hawkmoth, she claimed to be working only with Gabriel and claimed that as Hawkmoth he had controlled her to work for him... Police didn't believe her and revealed Gabriel's claims of her lies causing her to claimed a threat and deported to Italy to live out her sentence there... Meanwhile, Mari was heading with Felix to London, where he would live with him and his mother Amélie while going to his school there now that Hawkmoth and Mayura were dealt with.
Felix really was the better black cat...

A certain someone bumps sees Ladybug detransform
Master Master List
(fyi, this is one of my older ones iâve written.)
A year ago, Felix accidentally caught Ladybug detransforming into Marinette. When she saw him, she made him promise not to tell anyone. He only agreed if he got to know her better.
Weeks later, after multiple hangouts every week, Felix finally asked Marinette on a date. Eventually, those two became a couple. It took some time for her classmates, who still shipped Adrienette, but they eventually got over it, and shipped them two.
Now, Ladybug and Chat Noir are patrolling the city. Lately, Chat Noir has become possessive about Ladybug, but tonight he took it too far. When they ended patrol on the Eiffel Tower, Chat asked Ladybug on a date.
"Chat, I'm sorry, but I can't go on a date with you. I-" Ladybug tried to tell him that she already had a boyfriend, but he wouldn't listen.
"Ladybug why can't you accept my feelings for you? I've done everything for you! What will make you go out on a date with me?" Chat interrupted her.
When he stopped talking, Ladybug snapped. "If what you call, not showing up during akuma battles until I go out on a date with you 'doing everything for me' then I'd rather you'd do nothing for me." Chat was about to say something but Ladybug beat him to it. "The literal only reason why I never went on a date with you is because I already have a boyfriend. But even if I didn't, I still wouldn't go out on a date with you! You are a selfish human being that only cares for himself. I wouldn't be surprised if no one went out on a date with you in your civilian life!" Ladybug voice getting angrier and angrier by the second.
She was about to go off on him more until she heard him say something that he would soon regret.
"Since I can't have you, no one will. CATACLYSM!" Chat went to her chest, only for her to move out of the way. He was running at her, but when she moved away, he couldn't stop himself. He eventually ran into the walls of the Eiffel Tower. When he used his cataclysm, Ladybug went up to him and took away his miraculous.
"Chat Noir, you have been abusing the miraculous power, stalking me to find out my identity, and just tried to kill me!" Ladybug told him, in the coldest voice anyone has heard. "You are not worthy of having a miraculous. By being the guardian, I revoke you of your miraculous." Ladybug took away his ring, only to be surprised by who formerly owned the ring. It was none other than her former crush, Adrien Agreste. She was pissed to say the least. She yo-yoed away to go give the ring to Felix. She didn't trust anyone else with the power of destruction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day at school, everyone noticed Adrien's bad mood. No one but Marinette knew why. Whenever they tried to cheer him up, he would just flick them off and walk away.
When Marinette tried to cheer him up, he hit her as hard as he could. Marinette reminded him too much of him being Chat Noir, so he wanted that to go away.
Everyone saw what Adrien did to her, they stayed as far away as possible from him. He lost his best friend, he got less and less fangirls, and his grades started slipping.
Out of nowhere, an akuma appeared. Adrien just suddenly became happy. He knew that Ladybug couldn't use her miraculous unless the black cat's was activated. He didn't think that she found his replacement.
Anger and sadness suddenly overcame his face, when he saw his replacement. King Chat, the new replacement's name, was much better than he would ever be. And with his improved abilities, they finished akumas faster than Chat Noir and Ladybug ever did.
------------------------------------
When Gabriel found out about Adrien's grades slipping and him hitting Marinette for no reason at all, he decided it was best to homeschool him again. Adrien didn't mind, because he could finally forget his past as Chat Noir, Plagg, Ladybug, and his princess.
Adrien was watching the news when a question from the news was asked to Ladybug and King.
"Are you guys dating?" Adrien thought that they weren't considering what Ladybug told him the night he lost his miraculous
"I already have a boyfriend!"
Adrien was happy to know what the answer was going to be to that. But it turns out, he was wrong.
"Yes we are dating! I love him!"
"I love her."
Upon hearing this, Adrien's heart shattered. He had lost his lady to someone who was obviously better than him. He lost his princess to his cousin. He lost his friends because of him bullying Marinette. He had no one that loved him anymore.
He turned off the tv because he didn't want to hear anything else. That when he started to regret the night he tried to kill Ladybug. He lost everything just because of his obsession with her.
Felix slid into his seat next to Dupain-Cheng, wondering what would happen today.Â
It seemed that her new policy of dealing with Lilaâs lies and the simultaneous ire of the class was to say whatever crazy thing popped into her head whenever they accused her of something. It had been rather entertaining, to say the least.Â
The first time sheâd done it, their faces had been so comical that it had made Felix wish heâd brought his camera to school.Â
âMarinette! How could you shove Lila into the lockers?â Kim had stood in front of the crowd, his arms crossed in what was clearly meant to be an intimidating pose.Â
Marinette had looked up with a blank expression.Â
âI couldnât have, I was playing hopscotch with Hawkmoth. Heâs a really bad loser, so I had to leave before he had a full-on temper tantrum.â She had said it with the blandest tone heâd ever heard her use, which only added to the effect.Â
Everyoneâs mouths had opened and closed like a fishâs, trying to figure out how to respond to her answer. It was obviously not true, but how did someone respond to that?
Sheâd held Kimâs gaze, no trace of amusement on her face.Â
It had worked exactly how he suspected she intended; they hadnât managed to come up with anything before Bustier had come back in the room, breezily instructing everyone to turn to page 294 in their textbooks.Â
The next time, it seemed that they had come a little better prepared, allowing Alix to lead the charge. She was notorious for having a witty retort to everything, so it made sense. Unfortunately, Marinette had also come with a plan.Â
âMarinette! Care to tell us why you sabotaged Lilaâs project in the art room?â
Marinette had held up a finger, digging in her backpack. The class had watched with interest, as this was the first reaction that hadnât been outright hostile or bland.Â
Sheâd pulled out her tablet and typed something before turning it around.Â
Canât talk. I lost my voice after too much yelling at the heavy metal concert I went to last night.Â
Alix had blinked at the idea of sugar-sweet Marinette attending a heavy metal concert, but recovered quickly. âOk, so type out why you destroyed her project!â
Some more typing, then a response. Couldnât have, I was helping scientists extract DNA from mosquitoes in amber to make dinosaurs.
âThatâs the plot of Jurassic Park!â
Where do you think they got the idea from?
Alix had stared for a moment more before throwing up her hands. âThis is useless, sheâs clearly gone off the deep end!â Sheâd stormed out, leaving the rest of the class behind, unsure of what to do now that theyâd lost their ringer.
Again, Bustier had made the decision of what to do for them, coming in with a reminder of the worksheet they had due at the end of class.Â
Needless to say, Felix believed that this was a very good use of her creative mind. Watching her outsmart the idiots of the class in her own way was endlessly amusing and had quickly become his favorite part of the day.Â
Today, before the daily confrontation, Bustier had assigned them a project, a partner project with their deskmate. For Felix, that was Marinette. Since theyâd been working on the project all day, Lila hadnât had the chance to leave and lie about anything, pushing the confrontation to likely after the lunch break. Felix could hardly wait to see what she said this time. Maybe this project would allow him to get to know and understand her better.
âSo for the project I was thinking that we make a PowerPoint-â Marinette cut herself off, staring at him with a puzzled expression. âYouâre almost smiling at me. Are you feeling alright?â
Felix immediately wiped his expression, mildly mortified that heâd outwardly shown his amusement, but forged ahead. âI see you got your voice back. Was the heavy metal worth it?â
âWhat? Oh, that. Iâm fine.â
âOh, I know. Your recent interactions with the class have been thoroughly entertaining.âÂ
âGlad youâve been enjoying it. Confusion is certainly better than outright hostility.â She sighed, suddenly looking very tired.Â
âItâs about time that you started retaliating, even if itâs just by scrambling the two collective brain cells they have left. I donât know that I couldâve put up with Rossiâs bullshit for as long as you have with the patience youâve had.â
Her eyes snapped to him. âYou know sheâs lying?â
He scoffed. âPlease, donât insult my intelligence like that. Of course I know sheâs lying.â
Marinette was silent. He could almost see the burden on her shoulders getting lighter with the realization she wasnât alone in knowing Rossi was a liar and was about to comment further on it when Marinette smiled. It was a mischievous smile that promised trouble, which immediately intrigued Felix. He hadnât seen much of her troublemaker side except for the few glimpses from her last interactions with the class, but he had a feeling there was one hell of a wicked streak somewhere underneath that cotton candy.Â
âYou wanna help?â
He considered for a moment. Was it worth getting involved in? On one hand, it was enjoyable to just be merely a spectator. On the other hand, he wanted to know more about this side of Marinette and it was always enjoyable to see idiots put in their place.Â
âIâm in.â

After school, Felix and Marinette were at their desk, waiting for the confrontation.Â
And like a bad penny, the class came back to try again. It seemed that they were shuffling who was leading the âMarinette how dare youâ brigade, and this time they had chosen Adrien. Felix knew about her crush on him, so he supposed that it was a rather strategic move on their part, if he wasnât able to see the barely hidden disdain for the boy on her face.Â
âMarinette, you know that it wasnât kind of you to throw Lilaâs backpack down the stairs while she was in the cafeteria. Thatâs not the everyday Ladybug we all know and love.âÂ
Ah, the guilt trip method. Usually foolproof on someone as empathetic as Marinette, rendered useless by Marinetteâs developing apathy towards the class.
âIt mustâve been someone else. I spent the lunch break teaching Mr. Ramierâs pigeons how to moonwalk. I wouldnât have gotten back in time if Felix hadnât realized the time and dragged me back.â
âNow, Marinette, donât lie about it.â
âIâm not. Felix?â
Felix nodded, pulling up a video on his phone and showing it to the class. In it, Marinette stood next to some pigeons, clearly demonstrating how to moonwalk. The pigeons looked on curiously, occasionally pecking at her shoes and awkwardly waddling backwards. Mr. Ramier sat in the background, alternately cheering or throwing birdseed to the pigeons. The video clearly had the timestamp of about ten minutes before their break ended, so they wouldâve had to rush to get back to class. There was no way they couldâve done anything.
Marinette looked back at Adrien and folded her arms. âWell? Iâll take my apology now.â
Felix snorted at the flabbergasted expression on Adrienâs face, casually putting his arm over Marinetteâs shoulders. He didnât really know why he did it, only that it felt right. Apparently she didnât mind, since she just readjusted to be a bit more comfortable. âGive him a minute, heâs rebooting.â
âWait, are the two of you dating?â He blurted out, then immediately looked like he regretted it.Â
This time, Marinette snorted. âBecause the only reason heâd support me was if he was my boyfriend? No, thatâs what friends are meant to do, Adrien.â The last sentence was laden with poison that Felix didnât know the context for, but Adrien did, because he flinched.Â
âIâm sorry,â he muttered, turning away.Â
As soon as the class turned away, her head fell on his shoulder, her face crumpling in pain. He didnât know what to do but hug her shoulders tighter. Heâd seen that her love language was physical touch, so maybe it would help? After a while, her face smoothed and she lifted her head, seemingly doing better.Â
âHey, thanks for backing me up.â
Felix shrugged. âIt was fun.â
She turned to look at him. âNo, Iâm serious. Itâs been a long time since anyoneâs had my back, even if itâs just to mess with someone. Thank you.â
Why did he suddenly feel all warm inside? âSo whatâs the next plan?â
Marinette looked surprised. âYou want to be involved in the next one?â
âSure, why not?â
She looked away, her cheeks turning a light pink. âMaybe we could, well, I donât know, I donât want you thinking that Iâm just saying this because Adrien said it because I promise Iâm really not, but maybe we could, um, discuss it on a date?â
âBut we hardly know each other.â What did she see in him that she liked? Sure, heâd helped her once, but that was hardly grounds for someone liking someone, was it?
âThatâs the point of the date. To get to know someone. Besides, I want to see if youâre as nice as I suspect you are under that prickly exterior.â She was looking at him again, cheeks now a bright red, but with determination in her eyes.Â
Well, hadnât he wanted to get to know her better too? âSure.â
maybe I am a slut for this trope but i really wish felix and marinette kept dancing after she figured out it was him and not adrien. each one keeps trying to pull away only to be spun around or dipped by the other (furiously) because you arenât getting away that easy. (what did you do with adrien? the miraculous?) (and what business do you have with those, marinette?)
When you run out of fanfics of your ship
Sauce not an obsession
So, after coming back to this show and the fandom, I've seen theories and foreshadowing of future endgame Adrigami and Felinette, and... man, I'm feeling so much. I am definitely intrigued by this and really, kinda vibe with this idea, I can see the vision but at the same time... I do feel a bit betrayed and will feel betrayed again if this actually happens. All these years, all these seasons, all this setup and anticipation only for The Love Square to basically die a natural death and for the leads to end up with different people in the end. I think bittersweet is what I'm feeling. Thank you, whoever read my little vent. <3

A Felinette Fanfic where they never changed seats back after Chameleon, Adrien vs Felix in the next parts
- - -
Adrien was a good friend, if you asked him. Not that he had a lot of experience with friendship, but heâd read a lot about it. He could listen well. He could give advice. He was good at bringing out the best in people, at keeping the peace and harmony of the class. Madame Bustier didnât call him sunshine boy for nothing!
So when Felix Leanne was announced to be their newest student, he figured he was the perfect candidate to welcome him to class. Sure, they hadnât really gotten along when theyâd last met, but maybe Felix had changed in the last year?
âHi!â, he greeted as soon as he spotted the boy. âIâm Adrien Agreste. Weâve worked together last summer, remember?â
The older blond stilled and eyed him warily. His eyes were eerily colorless; a cool, distant grey. Adrien shivered a little.
âI doâ Felix replied after a moment of silence. Then continued to walk towards class.
Struggling to keep up with his long, measured strides, he followed suit.
âYouâve never been to school either, right?â he tried again. âWeâll be in the same class! Madame Bustier is our home teacher, sheâll probably want you to make a short introduction. Do you want to get to know our classmates? I could introduce you!â
Felix kept his eyes straight ahead, his face was devoid of any emotion. Maybe he was shy? Surely, heâd open up sooner or later.
âThat appears to be inevitable.â, was his brisk answer, confirming that the new student would need some time to warm up to them.
Alright then. He could do this!
When they entered the classroom, only a few students were already there. They looked up as soon as Felix walked in, his confident posture attracting attention even before he was fully inside.
âHey, guys!â, Adrien greeted Nino and Alya, who already looked as if she had a million questions to ask their newbie. âThis is Felix Leanne! Heâs from Great Britain, we modeled together last year.â
Alya jumped up and held out her hand to him, all but squealing in excitement.
âIâm Alya CĂ©saire, from the Ladyblog! Iâve read so much about you, you were the face of Leanne Fashionâs âLucky Lineâ! The posters of you in that Ladybug tie were all over Paris!â
She shoved her phone in his face, probably displaying said ad.
âIâm so excited to meet you!â
Felix wrinkled his nose.
âPlease take that out of my face.â
âOh, right!â
âIâm Ninoâ, her boyfriend followed up, âNice to meet you, dude! Iâm sure youâre gonna love it here.â
One by one, the other students began to crowd around Felix, greeting him and asking about his life. The answers were short, matter-of-fact and a little bit annoyed if you paid enough attention. Chloé threw one look at him and apparently decided it was best not to mess with him.
âLilaâs going to be so happy to meet you!â, Rose said cheerily, catching Adrienâs attention again. She was directly next to Felix, no chance he might have missed that. âShe told us all about you, from when she met you at that Fashion Show in London her parents sponsored.â
Felix frowned and opened his mouth, but Adrien beat him to it.
âLetâs not bother him with work details right now!â, he suggested a little too hastily, and probably an octave above his usual tone of voice. âHeâs new to school after all, and Iâm sure he hears enough about work at home!â
Felix looked at him with raised eye brows, but didnât press the matter. Adrien sighed with relief. Another day of successfully keeping the peace of this class.
He looked around, searching for missing faces. Kim was sick with the flu, he wouldnât come today. Sabrina was with ChloĂ© as usual, Marinette was probably late again and Lila should be here any minute now.
As if on cue, the brunette Italian entered the room just as the other students began to go to their places again. With a winning smile and her usual, confident stride she headed for Felix.
âOh, hello! Youâre Felix Leanne, right? Iâm Lila Rossi, Iâm sort of new myself.â
The tall blond regarded her with hidden suspicion.
âAhaâ
Her eyes roamed over his desk and spotted the thermos in his bag.
âI heard youâre from England!â she beamed. âI lived there for a while, my grandparents are famous for their rare teas. Maybe we could go for a cup after school? Thereâs not that many places where itâs as good as in Britain, but I happen to know one or two.â
The fact that she hadnât mentioned any Fashion Show in London confirmed Adrienâs assumption that it had been another lie.
Felix eyed her for a moment, then sat down at the last table in the back.
âI hate tea.â, he deadpanned, before taking out the thermos and pouring him a cup of what was obviously coffee without breaking eye contact with Lila. Adrien swore he could see the gears in her head come to screeching halt.
âO-Oh? What a shameâ she caught herself. âThen maybe we could-â
âGood Morning, class!â, Madame Bustier interrupted her attempts. Forced to retreat for now, Lila went to her seat next to him and Adrien followed with a nod. During the lesson she wouldnât have the opportunity to make up another story, which meant for now, crisis was averted. No exposing Lila, no fights, no trouble. He smiled. Another day of perfect school time, just like heâd always imagined it!
He shouldnât have been so sure of that. It started when Marinette arrived, just in time for saying âpresentâ as Mme Bustier read her name. Since sheâd been sitting in the back for a week now, sheâd be Felix desk neighbor. He didnât think anything of it, but Lila shot her a glare that couldâve been both a warning and a threat. Or maybe heâd misinterpreted it? Maybe sheâd just been annoyed that Marinette was late again? Must be it.
Still, Madame Bustier didnât get the chance to start her lesson when Lila stood up and raised her voice.
âMadame, Felix just arrived! He shouldnât have to sit in the back by himself, does he?â
Adrien wanted to remind her that no, he wasnât by himself, Marinette was there too, but remembered just in time the last time they had changed the seats. No, it wouldnât help to speak up now.
Mme Bustier frowned.
âWe only changed the seating order last week.â
Lila wasnât that easy to shake off however.
âOh, but you have all welcomed me so sweetly when I first arrived. I couldnât live with myself if I wouldnât do the same for Felix.â
She looked down.
âIf it werenât for my disability Iâd switch with him myself, butâŠâ
Felix coughed.
âI donât-â
âOh, we could go to the back!â, Alya volunteered, drowning out whatever Felix had wanted to say, and pulled Ninoâs hand up with her. Lila smiled.
âReally? Thatâs so nice of you guys!â
âActually-â Felix tried again but Lila wasnât done yet.
âOh, but what about Marinette? We just unseated her last week, we shouldnât do so again, right? Would you sit with Marinette in the back?â
âSure!â, Alya beamed and patted Nino on the shoulder in comfort. âWe sat together before, too!â
âI-â
âItâs no big deal, really!â
âMadame Bustier!â, Marinette called out of the blue, with enough force to make the entire class jump. Her hands were planted firmly on the desk and her face was grim. He shot her a concerned glance, trying to remind her of her promise. No exposing Lila.
âYes, Marinette?â the young teacher answerd, looking startled.
âHow aboutâ, Marinette said slowly, locking eyes with Mme Bustier, âwe offer Felix the chance I didnât get the last time, and give him a say in this?â
Surprised, she nodded and looked at her latest student.
âO-Of course, yes. Where would you like to sit, Felix?â
The blond teenager sighed, frustrated.
âI am perfectly fine sitting in the back, thank you very much.â
-
Felix hated school. It was full, it was loud and people just wouldnât leave him alone. He sighed, remembering the promise heâd made to his mother. She was still in England, but sheâd called to make sure he was alright. She wanted him to have this experience, to meet other children and be normal, for a while. It was not like he didnât appreciate her care! But he really, really wished she wouldâve expressed it in other ways. Maybe take him along to one of her incentives or business trip. He was old enough to learn about the company heâd inherit, wasnât he?
But if it made her happy, heâd try this⊠school life. Heâd make an effort, learn something, and then go back to homeschooling. Preferably sooner than later.
âPresent!â, yelled a voice next to him and he looked up. He hadnât even noticed the girl sliding into the seat next to him, but now she was there. Late, obviously.
He hated unpunctuality.
She smiled at him when she noticed his stare and pushed her book over to him, showing him which page they were at. Otherwise, she didnât try to interrogate him or make Smalltalk.
Huh. He could appreciate that.
Until that Lila-girl from earlier stood up, he was almost thinking this wouldnât get so bad after all. But alas, his hopes were shattered once again.
Her repeated attempts at changing the seating were, to his surprise, not shut down by the red-haired teacher. Apparently, he had to get active himself. Great.
He coughed, trying to get their attention.
âI donât-â
âOh, we could go to the back!â, the Ladyblog girl, Alya, exclaimed enthusiastically. He blinked. Sheâd just cut him off. How disrespectful!
Shaking his head, he straightened his back. Maybe she just hadnât heard him. No need to make a fuss just yet.
âActually-â he started again, before being interrupted once again, this time by Lila. His eye twitched.
One more time, he told himself, one more time trying to do it the peaceful way. For Mum. He could still walk out after that.
âI-â really donât need to sit in the front, he wanted to say, but his third try was as successful as the other two. He sighed, almost happy. He could go home, finally. Tell Mum heâd tried, but public schools just werenât his forte. Too unprofessional. Too chaotic. TooâŠ
âMadame Bustier!â, an energetic voice pulled him out of his resignation, just as he was about to pack his bag. It was his desk neighbor, Ms Unpunctual. Could that girl even talk in any volume other than âloudâ?
âHow about we give Felix the chance I didnât get, the last time,â she said threateningly slow, and bit bitterly if he wasnât wrong, âand give him a say in this?â
âOf courseâ the teacher agreed, apparently remembering that she was supposed to be the authority here. âWhere would you like to sit, Felix?â
He sighed.
âI am perfectly fine with sitting in the back, thank you very much!â, he uttered a bit salty.
Lila, frustrated that she was ignored, sat down again and the rest of the class calmed as well.
âYou didnât have to do thatâ, he clarified to his neighbor as soon as the teacher had turned around. Better make clear that she couldnât expect any favors or benefits from him. âIâm fully capable of speaking for myself.â
Usually. In a professional environment, at least. He hated having to raise his voice, and apparently, that was the only thing that worked on these savages.
But the girl surprised him yet again by simply shrugging.
âYeah, I figured. But still.â She looked down, where Lila was currently draping herself all over Agreste. âIt can be nice to know someone has your back.â
Maybe heâd imagined it, but she sounded a little bitter at that. He turned back to the teacher, but kept stealing glances at his pigtailed classmate.
He was no stranger to people, not like Agreste had been just a year ago. And other than the younger boy, he didnât see them through rose colored lenses, and didnât mind telling them off when they crossed a line. His young age and position as the heir and face of an international fashion empire made him a regular target for people that wanted to profit off of him - his sire included. He couldnât afford to be as carefree as Adrien, who was constantly monitored by his own terror of a father.
Over the time, Felix had acquired a sixth sense for detecting warning signs of manipulators and people who used others for their own gain. Heâd seen them in Lila Rossi, and heâd seen them in his father, but no matter how hard he focused, scrutinized or analyzed⊠he couldnât find them in his mysterious classmate.
âIâm Felixâ, he eventually whispered, half hoping she wouldnât hear it. Yet her surprised smile failed to disappoint him, for some reason.
âIâm Marinette. Welcome to the back, I guess.â
