Let’s talk about Adrien and Chloe’s personalities

I’ve seen quite a lot of people saying that Chloé doesn’t deserve a redemption arc/miraculous because of her shitty personality.

Now, while I agree that she does have a shitty personality, we have to understand why she acts the way she does. She’s a victim of child neglect/abuse.

“But what about Adrien? He’s been neglected and he’s still a good person”

Well, we need to look at their situation.

We don’t really know much about the Agreste family, but I think the most important thing is, they weren’t always like that. Emilie Agreste disappeared within the past year. From what we know, Emilie was sweet and kindhearted, and Gabriel has said that she is similar to Adrien personality wise. We also know that Gabriel was different before her disappearance, Adrien saying so himself. So we can assume that the majority of Adrien’s upbringing was in a loving environment, and things only changed after the disappearance of his mother, which put a strain on his and his fathers relationship.

Chloe on the other hand, has seemingly never had this kind of love.

Personally, I think that the reason Chloe is so desperate for Adrien’s everyones attention is because she has never felt loved, and we see in the queens battle that she is extremely insecure. Of course she is, her mother doesn’t even remember her name. We see that Chloe is constantly seeking acknowledgement and approval from her mother, doing everything she can to get on her good side, even when she’s akumatised. At the end of Queen wasp, she even asked her mother “why don’t you love me”. Unlike Adrien, who’s mother disappeared (against her own will, we can presume), Chloe’s mother willingly abandoned her. As for her father, Andre bourgeois seems to think that material objects are the only way to express love for his daughter, constantly giving her everything she wants, except real love and affection. He also doesn’t teach her right from wrong, letting her always get her way which can lead to her reckless actions.

TL;DR: Adrien’s family life wasn’t always bad since he was raised in a loving home, and losing his mother is the thing that put a strain on his relationships. Chloe however has long term abandonment issues which stemmed from her mother leaving her as a child, which meant she wasn’t raised in the same environment as Adrien with kind hearted, loving parents, meaning she was never able to experience that kind of affection, and instead sees it easier to shut people out

Character Dynamics

Okay so let's begin this post we'll talk about the more important characters of the rewrite but I probably will need to split into two posts.

Adrien Agreste

Chloe is Adrien's closest friend from his childhood. He's constantly trying to get her to hang out with his new friends but the issue is he wasn't prepared for how she acts. As a child he knew that his mom and Audrey didn't get along but it wasn't until style queen and queen wasp that he understood what kind of person Audrey was. He sees how Audrey's behavior has shaped and changed Chloe which is why he stops Chloe from leaving with her mom. Episodes like Despair Bear is Adrien trying to convince Chloe that she might have more in common with his friends than she thinks. Adrien isn't a total pushover with Chloe when Adrien sees Chloe being mean to Ivan he calls her behavior out. We will see them growing closer again as Adrien starts fixing their fractured friendship.

Juliet is Adrien's second friend he made at school. Adrien and her have a lot in common since both of them were homeschooled and currently live with one parent. They also share a love for superheros. They often feel like siblings with the way they act and joke around. Juliet is able to understand what Adrien's going through better than some of the others. That's not to say she can completely understand what Adrien's going through because she doesn't know what it's like to lose a parent both of her parents are alive and just divorced. Their similarities make her easy to approach when Adrien is having issues with his dad.

Marinette well we have the love square but Mari isn't as obsessed yes she has a crush on him but not stalking level like in the show. Mari has a crush on him and does some awkward things for example the voicemail thing still happens most of the other stuff like breaking into his house doesn't happen. Her and Adrien are friends with her crush on him sometimes getting the better of like Volpina. She does try to get over Adrien when she thinks he's not into her but failed. Adrien for his part actually started developing feelings for her in season 3 but pushed them aside since he already was dating someone and so was she. As Chat Noir and Ladybug their dynamic is mostly the same though they're on more equal footing.

Allegra is Adrien's other childhood friend she's a bit older than him already being in Lycées when we meet her. She is a student teacher in fencing. Adrien and Allegra are super happy to see each other again as Allegra had to move after her parents found out her grandmother was sick. The two reconnect as if it hadn't been years since they'd seen each other. She often acts like an older sister to Adrien. He normally brings out her more jokey side which her friend group is shocked by.

Nino is the first friend Adrien made at school. Nino quite fittingly since he has the turtle miraculous acts as a protective figure to Adrien especially considering Adrien is so new to public School. And honestly, I don't have too much to say just because it's much easier to watch it play out.

Valérie is an interesting one because she's the granddaughter of Wang Fu who's not only Adrien's mentor but his Mandarin tutor as well. Val is one of the few people who knows the identity of the original 3 early on. She can be a bit critical of all of them Chat Noir especially considering how destructive his miraculous is. She does relate to Adrien a bit with having an overprotective parental figure aka her Grandpa.

Gabriel is much different than his Canon counterpart. He doesn't threaten to pull Adrien out of school and actually does care about him. He just has a hard time expressing himself especially after his wife Emilie died. Again, he's another one that's difficult to explain without showing it.

Felix is Adrien's cousin the two of them used to be really close when they were kids but Gabriel and Colt had a falling out. Which led to Felix not seeing Adrien anymore. When we meet Felix in season 2, he is rather distant. He does love his cousin but he has a lot of trust issues thanks to Colt. And he is jealous of all the friends Adrien has how people seem to love him so much. As the series goes on, we see their relationship gradually improve and Felix make friends with some of Adrien's friends.

Luka is in all honestly probably going to be the last one I explain because in all honesty this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Luka is good friends with Adrien they first became friends through having a couple mutuals then Luka was looking for a keyboardist for the Kitty section. Luka often is the person Adrien will vent to because he doesn't want to bother the others. Luka tries to always be there when Adrien needs him. He also listens to Chat Noir vent when they're on patrol.

Me trying to figure out how Gabriel Agreste secret entrance to his lair, goes down under his office but some how still has a giant ass window looking above the city buildings, as if he were high up.🤔 Also who the hell built that shit, probably the same people who built Batman's lazy susan for the batmobile and still kept that shit a secret.🤐 Is there a secret neutral company that tricks out superhero and villains lairs for them? With client confidentiality and everything, that seems like a good business but hard to get new clients since they can't tell about who've they've built for which is the whole point of the company😐

Nathalie Sancœur's name:

On one hand, Nathalie Sancœur's last name translates to "heartless". On the other hand, it's one letter away from "rancœur" which translates to "resentment", and it makes me wonder... Will she grow to resent Hawkmoth/Gabriel? Will she become a greater villain, or will she turn towards the good side. This is a bit of a stretch, but I really can't help but wonder, especially since we still have so many episodes and seasons to go. Perhaps she'll truly change into a true mother figure for Adrien. What if she discovers his secret? Will she stay silent, or tell Gabriel? Will she get a redemption arc? We've seen scenes with her where she bends the rules for Adrien, but we've also seen her fall deeper in love with Gabriel. Which will she choose?

I was todays years old when I realized the scarf "Gabriel" got Adrien was foreshadowing.......

Paris Special Fic idea I have

Despite having all of the miraculous at her disposal after completing her search and successfully stealing them, losing the dreaded butterfly put Nathalie on edge. Laying low as Gabriel Agreste’s assistant was easy enough, the mansion was as secure a place as any, but should she really stay there when it made the possibility of the Agreste family getting involved with all that resistance nonsense more likely?

But what was she supposed to do? The man she loved more than anything was hoping for a better world and she intended to give him one.

What happens when the supreme and the leader of the resistance live in the same house and try their best to not only keep their identities from each other, but their burning feelings for one another secret as well? Will they crack and allow themselves to fall for each other or will they forever wait until their version of a better world is theirs?

Happiest Day Ending

While writing all of my fics I have this in the back of my head. It’s the ending I want and what I choose to write towards

Adrinette married with Adrien working with Tom and Sabine at their bakery (his gorgeous face draws in the customers and his Chat Noir charm keeps them coming back) and Marinette working for Gabriel on the path to take over the entire company once he retires.

Gabriel willingly giving up Emilie and marrying Nathalie while devoting his energy back to where it’s supposed to be, his remaining family

Nathalie marrying Gabriel and helping ease Marinette into high society. Marinette also gets closer to both her (and slowly Gabriel) over time while working with them.

Tom and Sabine overjoyed to be working with Adrien and getting closer to him (and Sabine having someone to speak Mandarin with… she’ll insist she helps teach their kids the language as well)

Chloe becoming a movie star working for her father (now full time director) and becoming closer as a result.

Nino becoming a full time DJ and Alya a reporter. Both married and having kids before Adrinette.

The 5 heroes, Ladybug, Chat Noir, Carapace, Rena Rogue, and reformed Queen Bee (now changed looks to be anonymous) hang out outside the mask, going to the mall and enjoying a peaceful Paris
