Interacting with Spider-Woman (ft. Dating Gwen)

Warnings: fluff, angst, playful banter, fem reader, mention of death, SPOILERS

Your first interaction with the one and only Spider-Woman was when she popped in at your workplace. You were serving at the register and she just so happened to waltz in and order a honey infused tea.

You memorized her by the first three times you spoke to her and she had memorized every single freckle on your face

It's one of those scenarios where you know each other, but she hasn't necessarily told you about this alter ego of hers. Hell, she was dating you- although the relationship was fairly new (like a couple weeks)

As those weeks turned into months you began to notice just how often this Spider-Woman was coming to your work

In fact, she knew exactly when you finished work and had offered to walk you home multiple times

"you sure about that? I'm sure someone's getting robbed somewhere." You'd tease her

"I'm sure." She'd reply and under the mask would be that sweet smile that often made you swoon

She'd take you home so often that you were getting used to the fast swinging and 'thwip' of her webs

That was until it got stuck to your clothes and it took you weeks to wash it out

"Next time it sticks to my shirt, you're washing it." You'd huff in playful annoyance, "My mum was so mad when she saw it, thinks I'm in a gang or something."

Gwen would laugh so hard, practically snorting

"Oh, really? A gang, huh? Must be pretty cool being apart of the spider gang." She'd bump your shoulder, still walking you home after every shift

You don't remember ever telling you when your shift ends, it just seems like she always knew

Evantually you started to wonder about how many times Gwen would run off and Spider-Woman would rush in a few minutes after

You payed no mind to it for so long, but now things were making too much sense

You never asked, it didn't feel right to ask

If you ever did ask Gwen I think she'd be frightened. After what happened with Peter she saw to never make friends (let alone getting a partner), so she'd shut you down.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

You bring up Peter

"You have no right to bring him into this! He has nothing to do with you and me or Spider-Woman!"

"You do, Gwen! I know now- You disappear and a few seconds later she comes running in! You're the only person who knows when my shifts end and she walks me home! It makes sense. Just humour me, please."

It ends in an argument, but you come back to apologize. You didn't necessarily mean to explode like that. She was right, you had no right to bring up Peter like you did. It wasn't fair

"You are right." She'd say, "But you have to understand that I have been hiding this from everyone.. I told Peter and you saw what happened." Her voice cracks and your hands meet hers

"I know.. I'm so sorry. It wasn't fair."

After forgiving and forgetting, you both still pretend to not know each other when meeting each other as Spider-Woman

However, that doesn't stop Gwen from sneaking in small kisses on the cheek when no one's looking

Girls Like Girls

The wind blew softly as the brunette pedaled her bike along the uneven street of Indiana. Her hands gripping the handle bars tightly, careful not to ride over sharp rocks. As expected, her small yellow house came into view. Millie noticed that there were no cars in the driveway. Typical. Her parents were never home. Millie practically raised herself.

Pedaling into her driveway, Millie hopped off of her vintage looking bike and walked it to the side of her house, using her covered toes to push the kick stand down. The brunette started to make her way into the house, before she heard a voice call out her name.

"Hey, Mills!"

Whipping her head around, Millie noticed the familiar red head walking onto her lawn, making her insides tingle with erupting butterflies.

"Sadie", Millie gave her a light smile as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

Millie had always had a crush on her neighbor Sadie. They had known each other for nearly half of their lives. Millie could recall the day where she first moved to America and she needed help carrying boxes into the house because her parents ran off to an emergency meeting somewhere. Sadie was there to help and Millie swore that the first time she laid eyes on the blue eyed, freckled girl, she was intrigued.

"-maybe we could go together?"

Millie snapped out of her trance, staring at Sadie in pure confusion. "I'm sorry, what?"

Sadie playfully rolled her eyes, "I said that Caleb is throwing a party tomorrow. Maybe we could go together?"

Millie's face dropped at the sound of Caleb's name. Caleb was Sadie's boyfriend...well, he made it clear that if anyone touched her, they would surely get sucker punched in the face. Millie hated him. He made Sadie cry all the time, leaving Millie to comfort her. Millie even questioned Sadie about why she even associated herself with him, but the answer was the same every time: I don't know.

"Caleb's a dick, Sadie. No way, I'm not going", Millie shook her head as Sadie pouted, taking a step forward.

"Please? I know he's a dick, but I don't want to go alone...", Sadie pleaded with her soft blue eyes, making Millie look away momentarily. "We can leave as soon as you feel uncomfortable, okay?"

Millie bit the inside of her cheek and nodded lightly, "Okay."

Sadie smiled and placed a friendly kiss on Millie's cheek, causing the brunette to freeze up.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Mills", Sadie winked as she walked back over to her house.

Millie lifted her hand and used her thumb to caress over the spot where Sadie's lips once touched. A smile laid on her lips as she slowly opened the door to her empty house and walked in.

-

Millie shut the door to her locker after she placed her books inside. She walked through the crowds of people, trying not to get stomped on by the giant seniors who passed her. In the distance, she noticed her other friend Lilia who was just walking out of the bathroom.

"Lil!", Millie jogged up to the blonde, waving. "Hey."

Lilia smiled, "Hi, Millie. I was just about to head to lunch."

"Same", Millie said before she let out a chuckle. "Let's go before someone steals our table again."

Lilia nodded as they began to walk towards the cafeteria. They were early so not a lot of people were really in there. The two sat down at their regular spot which was behind where Sadie sits...with Caleb and his friends.

"Caleb's throwing a party and Sadie wants me to go", Millie sighed.

"Then don't go.", Lilia said, using her elbows to lean her upper body on the table.

Millie shook her head, "But, she begged me. And besides, I don't want her alone with Caleb. Anything could go wrong and I'll end up with her crying in my arms at three in the morning again."

Lilia raised her eyebrow, "Not that you'd mind that..."

Millie nudged Lilia's arm, "Shut up!"

Lilia was the only one who knew about Millie's secret crush on Sadie. When Lilia found out by accident, Millie made Lilia swear that she'd never say a word to anyone, and of course, Lilia would never break that promise.

"Millie, you have to tell her someday", Lilia said. "You can't keep your feelings hidden like this."

"I-I know...", Millie gulped, looking down at the table. Her fingers picked at the chipped paint that was falling off the edge. "What if she doesn't like me back? Or what if she isn't even into girls!"

Placing a hand on Millie's, Lilia sent her a weak smile. "If she doesn't like you back then she isn't worth it. There's more people out there, Millie."

"But-"

The sound of Caleb and his obnoxious friends filled the air, causing Millie to turn around and stop talking. She noticed the group making their way to their table, which was behind Millie's and Lilia's. Sadie walked aside Caleb, holding his hand. Millie clenched her jaw and looked away, meeting Lilia's eyes.

"They're not even officially together", Millie scoffed under her breath, crossing her arms. "He treats her like shit and she still hangs out with him."

Millie was red. Her eyebrows furred in pure annoyance and her fists clenched.

"We could skip the next few periods.", Lilia offered. "Lets go eat lunch somewhere else."

Millie nodded and pushed herself out of her chair. She looked back at Sadie who was laughing with Caleb and his friends, his arms secured around her waist. With a shake of her head, Millie walked out with Lilia following behind her.

-

"Mills, come on! Try it!", Sadie laughed out, showing her white teeth as she tried to persuade Millie to put on make up. The two sat down on Sadie's bed, their legs crossed and hanging off of the bed.

"Ew, I hate make up. You know that", Millie cringed at the lipstick as she pushed Sadie's hand away.

"Just this one time, okay?", Sadie said, picking up another lip stick color and examining it. "This one is good. It compliments your eyes."

Millie tried to hide her blush, but it was no use. "Fine."

Sadie smiled in triumph.

"But, I'm taking it off right after-"

"Shush, stop talking", Sadie held her finger up to Millie's lips. Millie playfully rolled her eyes. "Now pucker up."

Millie obeyed and puckered her lips. Sadie took the top off of the nude colored lip stick and held the stick up to Millie's lips, applying the sticky substance. It fell silent, but it was a comfortable silence...at least for Sadie.

Millie didn't dare to look Sadie in the eyes. Her brown eyes flickered to anything else. Sadie noticed, letting out a chuckle.

"Stop being so awkward."

"I'm not."

"Yes, you are."

"No, I'm not."

"Then, just look me in the eyes", Sadie put the lipstick back. "It's not that hard."

Millie sighed, her eyes slowly making their way over to Sadie's face. Her breathing slowed once her brown eyes reached Sadie's sparkly blue eyes, admiring her freckles that were lightly scattered on her face.

The atmosphere changed. The air was much thicker, causing Millie to have an even harder time breathing. Sadie looked down to Millie's colored lips momentarily, before she adverted her eyes to Millie's eyes again. They both slowly leaned forward until their lips nearly ghosted each other's. Millie started to close her eyes, but the sound of knocking on the door made them both jump back, Millie nearly flying off the bed.

"Sadie? Millie? What'd I tell you about closed doors?", Sadie's mom voice rang out in annoyance.

Sadie awkwardly coughed, "Sorry mom. I'll open it."

Millie got up from Sadie's bed and rushed over to the connected bathroom. She ran the sink water and splashed water on her lips, using a paper towel to attempt to wipe the lipstick off. After most of it came off, she turned off the water and threw away her towel, rushing back into the room to retrieve her belongings.

"I-I should head home. My mom is probably almost done with dinner and if I'm late, she'll yell at me and then I'll probably get-"

"I get it." Sadie cleared her throat.

Millie tried to search for any sign of emotion on Sadie's face, but there was nothing. "okay..."

Sadie was the one to not look at Millie this time.

"I'll see you tomorrow I guess", Millie muttered as she lifted her hand and twisted the door knob. Sadie didn't say anything, instead the nodded.

And without another word, Millie left, leaving Sadie to drown in her own world of thoughts.

-

Millie shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts. It's been almost a month since that happened. Sadie never spoke of it again, even though Millie wanted to talk about it. Every time Millie brought it up, or at least tried to, Sadie would act clueless and immediately change the subject. Millie needed to know something...like how Sadie felt. Was it a mistake? Did Sadie even like Millie in that way?

"Who am I kidding? She probably doesn't even like girls.", Millie muttered to herself as she flipped through the clothes in there closet.

Today was Caleb's party and Millie was dreading the thought of the smell of beer lingering in the air while people a bunch of people grinded against each other, drunk off their asses. Millie was definitely not the party type. Sadie knew that.

Millie ended up picking a plain t-shirt with jeans and converses, choosing a cardigan to top it off. She left her hair the way it was, not wanting to deal with it at the moment.

Millie picked up her phone and checked the time. The party started nearly a half an hour ago. After she shut off her lights, she jogged down the stairs, noticing her mom in the living room. She raised her eyebrows. Usually, her mom would be furiously working in her office or out on buisness trips with Millie's father.

"Hey, mum", Millie said. "I'm going out with Sadie. I'll be back before eleven."

"Okay", Millie's mom shrugged, keeping her eyes on the television show.

Millie slightly frowned before she turned on her feet and headed towards the front door. A cool breeze hit her face as she walked out of her house and grabbed her bike and hopped on, pedaling onto the sidewalk. Thankfully, Caleb's house was only a few blocks down so it only took Millie two minutes to reach the house.

A bunch of people were crowded outside of the house with red Solo cups in their hands, filled with only god knows what. Music blasted through the house. Millie was surprised that no cops showed up yet. With a deep sigh, Millie pulled the kick stand down and began to walk up to the house, avoiding as many people as possible.

Once Millie barely made it through the door, she started to look for Sadie. It was fairly easy since her red hair usually stood out to Millie anywhere. Pushing her way into the living room area, Millie found Sadie next to Caleb, dancing in front of everyone as a band preformed next to her. She recognized the lead singer, Finn Wolfhard. He was one of Caleb's friends.

"Sads!", Millie yelled over the music, making Sadie turn around with a smile.

"Mills, you came!", The redhead smiled, dancing her way over to Millie.

Millie's eyes crinkled as she laughed. "You're embarrassing yourself."

"Then be embarrassing with me", Sadie grabbed Millie's hands and started to sway their arms in different directions.

"Sadie!", Millie giggled, trying to stop the girl, but a pair of arms wrapped themselves around Sadie's waist. Sadie squealed and let go of Millie, turning around to face the person.

"Caleb, what the hell?", Sadie smacked his arm.

"Come on, dance with me.", He slurred, obviously in a drunken state. He started to move their bodies together, making Millie look away.

"No, get off.", Sadie shifted her body, trying to squeeze herself out of his hold. Caleb didn't listen.

Millie, on the other hand, was a ticking bomb about to go off.

"She said get off, asshole.", Millie growled, her accent more prominent then before.

Caleb raised his eyebrows and held his hands up in defense. "Don't go crazy on me, brit.'

"I'm going to get some air", Sadie ruffled her hair with a sigh, walking towards the back patio.

Millie puffed, debating whether she should follow her or not. Instead, Millie headed into the kitchen, hoping that Caleb had anything to drink besides alcohol.

To Millie's surprise, she found a jug of orange juice. She pulled it out and poured herself some in a red solo cup, taking a big sip.

"Didn't know that you had the taste for alcohol"

Millie looked up and noticed Finn leaning on the door. She furred her eyebrows in confusion before she looked down at her cup, then the vodka bottle that happened to be next to her.

"No,no,no", Millie shook her head. "It's actually orange juice. I don't drink"

Finn snickered and walked over to the bottle, taking a swing. "I figured."

Millie awkwardly shifted on her feet, "I like your band..."

"Everyone does", Finn said in an obvious tone.

Millie set her cup down as she noticed Finn getting closer. "Finn, I-"

"Has anyone told you how pretty you are?", Finn ignored her.

Millie stepped back. "No, but-"

"Well, I think you are...", Finn ran his fingers along Millie's arm, but Millie moved away. "We should-"

"You're not my type!", Millie blurted out.

"Then what is your type?", Finn asked.

"Not you", Millie pushed her way past him.

"Oh, come on", Finn grabbed Millie's arm, but Millie pushed him away.

"I'm not into boys, okay?!", Millie yelled at him, making his eyes widen.

Before Finn could respond, Millie ran out. Trying to get her way through the crowd of people again. She needed to get out. Looking towards her left, she found the backyard patio, rushing to it. Millie slid the door open and stepped out.

She didn't notice anyone else out there until she saw Sadie sitting on the edge of the pool, swinging her feet back and forth in the clear water.

Without speaking, Millie quietly sat down next to her. Sadie looked over and gave her a weak smile, scooting her body closer to her.

It was a comfortable silence. They both tuned out the muffled sound of the music coming from inside, and instead focused on the obnoxious sound of crickets and a near by airplane passing above them.

"Sorry, I made you come here", Sadie spoke up. "I know how much you hate parties."

Millie shrugged, "It's okay."

"And I'm sorry about earlier...", Sadie drifted off. "About Caleb."

"Don't apologize for that. He's an ass", Millie clenched her jaw. Sadie noticed and placed her hand on top of Millie's.

Millie looked down at their hands and her heart skipped a beat. Without even thinking, Millie entwined their fingers together. Sadie didn't mind it, though. She added onto the fire by placing her head on Millie's shoulder. Millie tensed up, but immediately relaxed.

"I'm glad you're my best friend, Mills", Sadie whispered against Millie's shoulder.

Millie's lips lifted up in a smile. "Me too, sads."

Sadie shifted her head so that she could look at Millie. Their faces were so close that Millie could feel Sadie's breath of the side of her cheek. Not knowing how close they were, Millie turned her head, her eyes widening. It was deja vu all over again. Sadie's lips parted as she started to slowly lean in. Millie braced herself, wetting her lips, until she felt a hard tug on her head. The side of her face meeting the concrete.

"What the fuck?!", Caleb screamed out.

Sadie abruptly stood up looking at Millie who was groaning on the ground. She was about to go check on her but Caleb shoved her back.

"I fucking knew it! You've been kissing this fag behind my back? I guess everyone was right when they were calling you a slut-"

Millie couldn't make out the rest of it, the ringing in her ears getting worse. She touched the side of her face, wincing. She could already feel the blood dripping down her face. Finally, she used her weak arms to push herself up. Caleb was still yelling at Sadie, who had tears running down her face.

Sadie's blue, glossy eyes stare into Millie's, her mouth ajar while Caleb kept shoving her shoulders, yelling insults. The truth was: Sadie didn't even care about the words that were coming out of Caleb's mouth. Her main focus was the injured brunette standing behind him. Sadie was angry at Caleb--no, angry couldn't even reach the level of hatred that she felt right now. Her teeth bit harshly on her lip, trying to hold back sobs that dared to come out.

Millie mustered up all the strength she had and balled her fist up, connecting it with the side of Caleb's face. He fell down with a gasp.

Millie was erratic. Her breathing was uneven as she let out a cry, throwing another punch towards Caleb...and another...and three more.

"Millie stop!", Sadie wrapped her arms around Millie and pulled her off.

Sadie engulfed her in a tight hug. "Millie, I'm so, so sorry. Are you ok-"

Millie crashed their lips together, the taste of salty tears didn't bother either of them. It was as if everything stopped. Nothing else mattered at the moment. Sadie caressed Millie's face as if it could break, tilting her head so that she could deepen the kiss even further. Millie smiled through her tears and ignored the throbbing pain on the side of her head, using her arms to loosely wrap it around Sadie's neck. They both could have stayed like his forever, in each other's arms, but the need for air overcame them.

Millie breathed heavily as she pulled away, staring into Sadie's glossy eyes.

"I love you"

Sadie pulled their bodies even closer, their foreheads touching. "I love you, too."

"I always have...", Millie added.

"I know. Me too"
