i love gyftrot!!! Doodled and colored my au gyftrot as I'm still getting back into drawing
bit of a different style as I was mainly having fun
Two quick pen sketches I made while playing an escape board game with family. Was fun and hilarious, would argue for an hour again
totally haven’t been busy with projects and so many exams… will try to post more when I get the chance!!
* I suppose it has a nice look to it… also, why do i have eyebrows?

i saw gyftrot hiding behind the tree and my brain went- "...where do they sleep"
cause they like their peace and quiet, right? so i'd imagine they live away from the town proper, plus they stay in the underground in the true pacifist. do they got a little hollow somewhere? whatcha thinks
You caught me!! I like to believe that Gyftrot lives in the wilderness. Maybe it's because I base what I don't know off the habits of a deer, but also because this sucker just stands all alone here with two holes in the wall that are eyes. Are those eyes other Gyftrots? Or perhaps other monsters who just don't wanna show themselves? We'll never know!
Either way, Gyftrot seems to like it. Since they'll chill there and it's where you can come chat with them in the game! Must be quite peaceful.
I completely agree that they'd live away from Snowdin town. Potentially finding their own little tree hollow to relax at and call their own. Or just rest anywhere. Doesn't seem like the cold affects them much. However, I like to think they may move from time to time. They just explore around the underground until there isn't anything left to explore. Or until there's someone else and the exploration becomes less peaceful.
If I were to give them a home, I'd choose one of the big trees where they can part the leaves and cozy right on in. Since, y'know, no thumbs? Can't exactly conveniently use a door. So using the leaves as a door way would be much more convenient for them!
Canon Gyftrot in comparison to the one of my au!
Mine is just a teensy bit bigger with longer ears. As well as curved horns rather than the ones of the canon! There are also more rounded-out leaves than evergreen leaves in the original design. Same color scheme though, as much as the green burns my eyes sometimes to color in. May end up changing it but I'll leave it be for now. Also instead of false eyes, they're the real eyes! And they're green like the leaves/wool.

Alrighty, so I looked up Gyftrot for the first time and a thought occurred to me as I looked at the sprite. Feel free to fanon away.
Q: Do you think Gyftrot's antlers shed every year? If so, how long do you think they would grow (you can measure the length in trees XD)
This is mainly fanon as I believe Gyftrot's big eyes on their face are fake. Since during the fight, they do not blink once. And it would be pretty inconvenient if those were real eyes
Imagine constantly seeing without being able to blink? Yeowch. Would be a shame if I did that to one of my characters....
But I imagine that if Gyftrot were to shed their antlers as deer do, they would find a nice, peaceful area to stick around. Especially since what I consider their real eyes are on their antlers. A pretty inconvenient ordeal for them. They'd stick around that area until they've gotten their antler nubs back and regrow their eyes
They'd then have to use their other senses; hearing, feeling, and whatnot to sense if anyone is nearby or if they're in an area that they wanna be in. I think of Gyftrot as someone solitary so would definitely stick away from everyone. But maybe allow a helper if they do get lost
Anyways, point and laugh at this sucker who has to regrow their horns

I LOVE GYFTROT!!! They don't show up much, unfortunately. So gotta pick at scraps to get a clue on their character

this quick doodle doesn't do them justice but I love this sucker to bits. Design-wise, they are my all-time favorite out of Undertale
I love their big fake eyes with their real eyes being on their horns! And their angry expression to try and likely scare others off so they can have their peace and quiet. Darn those kids who keep putting decorations on them. They just want relaxation!
Love the vagueness of the Pacifist ending where it just says they've obtained their peace and quiet. Does that mean they skedaddled off into the woods and were never seen again? Who knows!
(yes I would lift someone up to heaven's gates if they discussed Gyftrot with me and tell me things I may have not picked up on)

I don’t know about you guys, but I love Gyftrot’s design so much (I have not drawn canon Gyftrot at all. I just stare at their art)
So I drew more of my au and my version of Horrortale Gyftrot! This time it’s a size comparison. Love the headcanons where Horrortale guys just become bigger so I kept that. My au Gyftrot is bigger than canon but they ain’t got nothing on Horrortale size
Back with more AU work that I wish to share!
For Snowdin, it really is snowed in. So much so that it would be difficult for Frisk to get around without sinking straight into the snow! Not only that, but it's freezing cold from the constant blizzards! Therefore, a little friend sewed their stuffing and cotton into Frisk's pajamas in an attempt to keep Frisk's travels warm as they pass through. Giving them a little hoodie to go too!
With the trouble of sinking into the snow, I had an easy solution. A friend!
In the form of Gyftrot. Simply climb abord and let the big deer-like monster carry you across with ease! And not only that, but what's this? There's even monster fruit if you get hungry? Or need some healing? What a treat!
Oh yeah, there's that ghost that follows Frisk around too. Wonder who they are?
Gyftrot for my au! They can grow fruits on their fur and trees! The example I used is only apples for now. Will branch out later.
