hilson wilson has been best friends with house his entire adult life. think about that house outlasted every wife. every gf. wilson has not known what actual independent grown up living was like without gregory house i think wilson would certainly try to go on. i think he would assume he wasn't as codependent on their friendship as house was and i don't think it would be the codependence that would eventually break him i think it would just be that he misses him.
