Vanitas no Carte AU
The Uchiha clan first developed centuries ago; around even right after the Babel incident - being one of the first vampires to develop from the incident.
They were fierce warriors, their speed and agility a great assets when the war between humans and vampires initially broke out. They were some of the Queen's most trusted - which made the betrayal of one of them - Madara Uchiha - trying to assassinate the Queen all the more shocking and heinous.
The attempted coup was dismantled; and for all anyone knows, Madara was beheaded for his transgression. Due to the severity of the crime, a hefty punishment was therefore laid out on the clan as a whole - all of them, including future generations, will be made in borreaus to atone for their ancestor's crime; a tool used by the Queen's court and senate to carry out executions of their own kind when commanded. To live as weapons, isolated and shunned from Vampirc Society.
This punishment has carried for several generations - still upheld even when Sasuke was born.
Except, when Sasuke turned 7, something else happened - the Uchihas as a whole were all exterminated within a single night; the alleged culprit being Sasuke's elder brother, Itachi Uchiha; leaving only Sasuke as the sole survivor.
Itachi escaped punishment - which then fell onto Sasuke, even as a youth. He was taken in by the senate, his training accelerated as a borreau. He was given to a handler to train, but he 'disappeared under mysterious circumstances' and his care was placed in the hands of Lord Orochimaru instead.
His training was more like an experiment: when he was 'needed', he was mostly locked in a secure room and bit by bit he was conditioned to rely on blood. Forced to drink it, having it added to his food - blood quickly became a concerning staple of his diet. It was long until he was addicted - which was the intended outcome.
Lord Orochimaru's borreau quickly made a name for himself as being especially violent and ruthless when at work, and notoriously difficult to control. Many kept quiet bets on how long it would be until he was rendered entirely 'unusable' and would have to be 'put down'.
-- but when Orochimaru ends up horrifically murdered with Sasuke nowhere to be found and even thought to have escaped Altus and into the human world, many think that the time has finally come; and there is a hefty bounty on his head for him to be taken care of before he causes too much havoc and damage in the human realm. We'll see how that goes -
