I was talking to my friend about how I like to tell fake spoilers to ppl most of the time so when I do actually spoil them I can just act as if it was a joke (or sometimes I will tell a spoiler in the form of a fake-spoiler joke just to have them be like "are you KIDDING ME THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT HAPPENS.").

Me and this friend are watching Link Click together, and when I told him I wanted to tell 'em a fake spoiler but was afraid of them actually believing it, that's what they said:

“go on Camisa say it tell me that qiao ling dies in the last episode [of season one] and lu guang is kidnapped and this is the cliffhanger ur always talking about "

... WOULD YOU BELIEVE ME IF I TOLD Y'ALL I HAD TO TAKE A BREATH BEFORE ACTING AS IF "yeah lol omg bestie how did you know /s"?

Like yeah, I know they aren't right about anything that happens on that last episode, but it shocked me that they ACTUALLY GOT A FEW THINGS RIGHT. WHILE MAKING A SILLY JOKE.

Namely:

1. They guessed someone dies (allegedly, but very much believed until proven otherwise on S02)

2. They guessed LG gets kidnapped (which, again, S02)

Anyways I guess they're gonna joke about there being a time loop anytime soon pls pray for me so I won't tell them the truth accidentally 🙏

So I'm rewatching link click with a friend of mine

I have a few points I'd like to make (and can't because some of them are spoilers, first one isn't tho):

1 - WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN IF CHENG XIAOSHI ENTERED A FOTOCOPIED PICTURE Ok this may seem weird but hear me out: a photocopy of a picture is, in essence, a photo of said picture. Would Cheng Xiaoshi go back to the point in which the photo was photocopied? Would he just skip that and go to the og photo? And same question about pictures of pictures, as in when you use you phone to register an old revealed photo. Would he go to the point in which the person took the picture? Would he enter the photo inside the picture? Is there a way to choose in this case? now onto the spoilers

2 - I am so fucking sad. Whenever Lu Guang talks about death nodes with Cheng Xiaoshi he sounds so miserable. I didn't realize it before — like, I did see that he was sad, but I didn't even imagine the reason, I just thought he felt bad for Cheng Xiaoshi.

Like, look at his face while he tells Cheng Xiaoshi that he can't change what's happened, that all he's seeing is a glimpse of the past:

This is the face of a man who is not alright.

And in the next shot, when he says death is an inevitable node, he sounds so quiet. Like it pains him to think about it. Because he's trying to change the past. And if he doesn't succeed, he'll lose Cheng Xiaoshi forever.

That's why in this episode he talks so much about how innocent people could die. Because it has already happened. I suspect (not my theory but one that I saw around on tumblr) that Emma's death happened because Lu Guang is changing the past. Which makes me very worried there'll be a bad ending but I trust the authors to come up with a good Deus Ex Machina to make it work-

3 - THE FACE LU GUANG MAKES IN THE NEXT EPISODE

The dad comes into the shop asking for help to find his son and Cheng Xiaoshi is like "the past already happened and can't be changed so like lol" while Lu Guang looks at him like:

"OH SO NOW YOU'RE SAYING THAT? AFTER YOU GAVE ME THE HARDEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE AND PUNCHED ME? YOU MOTHERFU-"

(they made up afterwards tho I love lu guang's little sneeze)

That assuming he wouldn't fuck his clone

I JUST REALIZED LU GUANG LANDING ON TOP OF CHENG XIAOSHI IS NOT GAY BECAUSE LU WAS CHENG AT THE TIME. IT'S LIKE THE WOULD YOU **** YOUR CLONE MEME

OK BUT WHAT IF him being alive is what caused these people to die since the death node can't be changed (supposedly) so like. Maybe saving someone causes someone else to die. Imagine the GUILT.

no because imagine when he finds out and then he's like. i couldn't save chen bin. i couldn't save emma. i couldn't save li tianxi. i couldn't save YOU. all because of what you told me. and it was a lie

So. Everyone seems to agree that Dive Back in Time is from CXS's POV, but I don't really think so?

SO. UM. IT HAPPENED. THE THEORY EVERYONE HAS BEEN GOING APESHIT FOR.

And THAT's where I think the song is no longer meant to be in CXS's POV. I think it never was tbh, but it was always LG's song. I'm no interpreter (God I wish I was one of the theorists of Tumblr) so I'll just go through a few obvious points in order through the lyrics.

1.

"Without you, I don't know if I could take this road", "if only I had got it right before". While I think everything screams LG's POV these are the main-sentences in this part. W now know LG really cannot take "this road" (the timeline he was in) without CSX by his side. And the second one shows he's prolly very regretful for letting CXS die. Foreshadowing to it being his fault maybe? Hope not!!!

I'm not talking about the "chase you to the end of the world" lines, bc they're obvious enough. Come on.

2.

So... haha I hope it's not a surprise I'm a shiguang shipper.

Moving on: these lines are the main reason I thought the song is LG's. While the line "I'm always late to my fate" is kinda CXS coded (he's late to dying bc LG keeps saving him haha get it), the rest just screams LG and his silent love (be it wtv kind of love. Like even if you don't ship it you can't deny he loves him in some way. Would you rip the literal fabric of time and reality for someone you don't love).

"Here's to all the mistakes I never made" is pretty on the nose: he's gone back and fixed the stuff that caused CXS's death node to appear.

Now, the part that made me clarify I'm a shipper: "If it ain't for your misguided taste, I'd turn out so ordinary, fabulously un-addictively bore out my own brain". We all know LG's considered to be the more stoic rational one of the pair, and has probably always been like this. I believe CSX entering his life had such a big effect on him, he actually relaxed in some way or smth. I do not know the words to express this properly in English nor do I have any evidence of this, so I hope it makes enough sense.

Now this doesn't have to mean anything for the ship but I like being delusional.

3.

THIS. SO.

I believe he's saying this words to CXS when he's dead. He's probably like "well, I know I told you you shouldn't be messing with time and I'm gonna be a hypocrite but don't feel sorry for me I'm fine with anything as long as you're alive" (hence "I'll love where I'm going now"). " 'Cause I'm about to lose my mind" is simply him going apeshit for CXS's death to the point where he's decided to go back in time. You can't change my mind have you SEEN THE ANGER IN THIS DUDE WHEN CXS GOT SHOT ISTG-

I know I said I was going in order and then left the chorus for the end but this screenshot has the last chorus so it counts :)

I think this is the main reason ppl believe it's meant to be CXS, and this is probably meant to be deceitful. We didn't know Lu Guang could go back in time after all, so it made it seem like it was CXS's words. Especially with "something secretive hidden inside your mind", which I don't truly have a theory for tehehe. But let's get back on track.

"All the heartaches and the smiles never faded, I know you'll be by my side when we make it" kinda seems like LG's telling that everything is fine after he's gone back, doesn't it? He's rewound CXS's existence, wich got him back to happy times; but he hasn't really moved on. His heart still hurts when he remembers what's gonna happen.

"I know you'll be by my side when we make it" is simply him being hopeful that the whole going-back-in-time plan will work. And maybe foreshadow to a happy ending? (please)

I probably didn't add anything new but I need to rant about this show a little bit 'cus i'm about to lose my mind *wink wink*

Can I just add that it sent me flying when we finally discovered how Lu Guang actually escaped from the hospital. I swear I had to stop the episode so I could laugh

Everyone here was like "How did he survive a 2 story fall?????" and the show simply said "lol he didn't tf you saying"

Welp. Link Click s02ep8 has left me confused.

The other night it was like 1am and I sent to my friend (who doesn't watch link click) something along the lines of:

"People talk a lot about what happens if you go back in time and change something that would make it impossible for you to go back in time, like if you stopped your parents from conceiving you; but they never talk about the opposite. What if you're gonna die in the next five minutes but then you from the future appears and say "uhhh don't go there you're gonna die lmao" then you don't. But like. How was future you able to save you if you're supposedly dead in their timeline." and I though I was just being silly and Ovethinking™.

BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THIS EPISODE IS ABOUT FOR ME

The way this show's timeline works is like: there's the og, then cxs enters it and maybe alters stuff, and then in the future it reflects. I know time loops have happened before, like with Liu Min and the Big Plan© from s01 but there it made sense. The one that would die/be incapacitated was not cxs, so he could go back at any point and create the time loop like that. BUT WHEN IT'S HIM HIMSELF IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE

I know time travel is a topic in which you can have whatever since nothing is real so like do what you want yk. But even so, you gotta keep things consistent in order to not make it confusing/seem like bad writing. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea and I'm actually very intrigued by it, but I know we won't get an explanation as to how the time loop started (just like with the other one) so I just thought I'd dump my thoughts here.

And now that i think about it didn't zelda ocarina of time kinda do the same thing with the song of storm-

This show's gonna make me go insane fr.

(I won't even get into the topic of how that wasn't Lu Guang and that was my biggest fear bc even though they went with that and I wanna chew my chair's legs off I... kinda think it had emotional impact still? I mean he wasn't being the imprudent king like we thought but he let the imprudent king get inside his body willingly so like... I guess it works? idk man I'm just a shirt)
