me: hmmm. I wonder why fangs and horns feel like they'd be gender affirming? I think perhaps it's because experiencing transphobia is so dehumanizing, and knowing that people find my body monstrous makes me feel very small, and if there were something about me that were actually monstrous, something about me to fear & hate that truly isn't human, I could lean into it, revel in it even, delight in the discomfort my body causes other people and be proud of it and love myself. maybe I could learn to feel that way anyway.
