It's probably because of censorship but this makes the fanfics alot more sense cause in manga-wise;

Look man, I was confused when reading those fanfics because I was so sure Zoro told Luffy to commit Harakiri (which btw a quick google search told me it's a ritual suicide by disembowelment with a sword, formerly practised in Japan by samurai as an honourable alternative to disgrace or execution) instead of apologising if he ever got in his way.

Also we were introduced to nami waaay earlier which I like her outfit. She should wear that again :D
