Well, what about the others then? Sonora and Chatoyancy? How are they towards Rose having Steven, and the eventual reveal of Rose having been Pink?
Chatoyancy is incredibly bitter at Rose for daring to have Steven. She was always the one who could question Rose the most. After everything they went through together, everything Rose did- she thinks she can just disappear like this and it would all be okay? She was a fool to think so. But, Yancy never took it out on Steven. Steven was new, and it was never his fault. Yancy always made that clear for Steven. She never blamed him.
Sonora Sunrise always asked if Rose was sure. It seemed so silly, so final for something so finite as a human life. But, Sonora always respected Rose. Always thought of her as the first to really question the way White arranged things, and she respected her judgement and forethought. If she was sure.... She would be there. And support her and her spawn. 100%. Well.... 70%. She saw other options, but.... it was Rose. She always did what she wanted.
However, the Rose was Pink reveal? That hits Yancy the hardest, I think. Yancy was hurt by Rose killing Pink, but for her to have actually been Pink? To cause all that pain, hurt, betrayal; to watch all her friends be corrupted and shattered for her one choice to leave this a secret - and then to never tell them after? To let Yancy shout at her whenever it came up, and know she hurt Yancy with the death? That.... that was so painful. She gets it, she does. Trying to create a new identity and never wanting to look back at what they wanted or expected you to be- that was why she was even there. But it just.... Hurt to feel it from Rose.
Sonora is frazzled at the reveal. She needs to make sure Steven is okay, of course, pushes down her own feelings on the matter until Steven is somewhere safe for her to melt down. It isn't right to put this on him. It never was. She needs to make sure Yancy understands that Rose probably never meant to hurt them. Probably. Oh, what if she did? What if this was all just a Diamond trick? No, no- they would all be shattered or White's puppets by now if that were the case. No Diamond would draw out torture like this. That's what she has to tell herself. It was all just.... Just a big lie that got out of hand, yes. She has to tell Coral and- Coral. Coral, Coral, Coral- In a buzzing, frazzled attempt to gain control of the situation and make a choice for herself; Sonora asks Coral to marry her. Maybe it was rushed, but, oh wasn't it such a wonderful idea? It would be new, and exciting, and a choice not stemmed from Rose. Coral says yes.
