Before you start:

It’s a good idea to have some basic knowledge of html and css before doing anything with this page.

To install this page, go to the customize page and click “Add a page.” When the window pops up, click where it says “Standard Layout” and change it to “Custom Layout”. Then copy and paste in the entire code there and click save.

How to use:

I suggest you first install the page onto a sideblog when editing it so you can see what you’re doing instead of blindly changing the code.

HOW THIS PAGE WORKS:

This page features a really cool hover effect! When you hover over the picture, the dropdown menu slides in from the bottom to reveal your tag list. I really suggest checking out the live preview, just because the static picture doesn’t really do it any justice XD

This page is a lot of fun and is definitely easy to customize if you know your way around code. 

NOTE: Main image MUST be resized to 500px x 300px in order for this to work! Otherwise image will be cropped or shrunken down awkwardly.

VIII - SCRAPBOOK/FILM PAGE 2013 ↳ Preview: Codes Only / Example • Help/FAQ • Download: Pastebin / Ge.tt Edit: The live example at my personal blog is no longer working as I’ve customized it. New year, new resolutions, new shiny film tables. So based on the original movie table idea, I’ve tried to make keeping track of more than one media type easier. Using Isotope I was able to include the filter function which you can see in action when you click “Sort by Media” in the sidebar - there’s your different types/categories. You can obviously use this as only a film table as well. For those who have time or want to, you can add even more categories and keep track of more things (maybe albums, musicals, concerts even blog layouts) and hopefully at the end of the year we can all see where we wasted our time. Please note, this may not work (properly) on screen resolutions smaller than 1200px.

BOOKSHELF #1 BLOG PAGE ↳ Preview: Codes Only / Example • Help/FAQ Download: (Pastebin) CSS Sprites Stars or HTML Stars / (Ge.tt) CSS Sprites Stars or HTML Stars Codes taken down to revamped/updated. As promised, the bookshelf page I’m using on my own blog. Personally, I think there are quite a few flaws in this but alot of you still wanted it. Again, if you need help installing pages, there’s a tutorial here. If you need help using/editing anything, the help page is here. Please read the info carefully before you download as there are two different versions based on what rating system you want to use. The first uses CSS Sprites to Display Ratings (credit for tutorial) - as seen in the live preview on my own blog - it’s the red stars and you are unable to change the colour of that using HTML/CSS (you can remake them in Photoshop but I’m lazy), however this method allows half stars. The other version, just uses basic HTML stars - you can change the colours of these (I’ve set the default to a yellow-ish/gold) but there are no half stars. If you’re familiar with HTML/CSS you can feel free to change to whatever method you prefer. There are three categories at the top (bookshelf, currently & to read, favourites) and each time you add a new book you will need to pay attention to what category you would like that book to be under (just like the watching page). For details on how to edit colours and add books read the FAQ here.

FAVOURITES/FAMILY BLOG PAGE ↳ Live Preview • Help/FAQ • Download: Pastebin / Ge.tt So I’m not totally sure what this is, as it started off as something else I was making. I guess you can use it for a number of things like favourite blogs, family, members/mods of a blog, maybe even one of those roleplay pages? I’ve kept it simple so you can edit and customize quite easily yourself - have a look at the preview page for some options. If you need help installing pages, check here first. If you need help finding the colours, the help page is here.

Features include: - Poster Sizes: 190x280px  - Hover to reveal title/rating - Pop up box for more info on the film - Lazy load for all the images

I don’t recommend embedding youtube trailers in each pop up because I had tried that and once you have more than five the loading time slows down exponentially.

Important: To add your info you need to search in the code for “This is where you put stuff for tab 2.” etc and replace it with your own. The appearance tab links only allow so many characters which is why I can’t do it through that.

Because this is used in the redirect URL as well you MUST include dashes! ie. new blog name is very-fabulous, put very-fabulous or the link to your new blog will not work.

Mad Hatter

His words out of a book, learned by heart. Perhaps he was someone else once, but now he is this being of paper trying to be a person of flesh. The world has one dimension too many in which he doesn’t fit.

There is little to say about his appearance, and what may be said isn’t flattering. His nose is the most remarkable part of him, large and bent. Everything else is forgotten, eyes drawn to his hat. He has many, that he wears for different occasions ; a green bowler hat for dinner, a grey béret for rainy days, a blue top hat for murder, a red tricorne for holidays… His favourite is the top hat.

He makes hats for others as well. Put them on their heads and they turn docile, obedient. The world follows the story better with hats.

He smells like Earl Grey and dust, like he is a forgotten book himself. He’s missing his main character, his Alice, which he looks for in the eyes of all women, in the way they smile and in the words they speak. It takes more than blonde hair to be Alice ; he can always dye the hair. There is an essence that he seeks. An essence he never finds. The women get scared, fail, or grow old ; flesh people, changing and decaying. He curses Time and what it does ! It flows between his fingers like a stream, taking away the Alices. The world moves without him, too fast for him to understand.

It’s always 6 o’clock at his table and in his heart. The quest for an Alice never ends.
