This was another movie I loved growing up as a kid. In fact I’m according to my mom, I had a Tarzan themed 1st birthday party all the way back in 2000. This is probably the best adaptation of Tarzan out there, as well as the definitive take on the character. It’s a movie about being one with nature and how the world of man would often clash with it. Filled with great characters and great animation, this is the movie that made my love for adventure films become more apparent.
Another Hannibal Lector movie for you guys. I know a lot of people have seen the more popular remake starring Edward Norton, but I think the original with William Petersen is far superior. The story of Will Graham and his hunt for the Tooth fairy, Francis Dollarhyde, is told a lot better in this version, as youth truly delve into the mind of a depraved manic who somehow managed to be on the same side of the law. It’s a classic crime thriller and one I’m proud to have watched.
Now this is a classic, ignoring the sequels and the inferior 2016 reboot, the original Ghostbusters is a perfect blend of raunchy 80s screwball comedy and a spooky super natural film. I think what makes the original version far superior than any of the follow ups is because ghostbusters isn’t afraid to be an adult comedy. Sure it was rated PG, but let’s be real, this isn’t appropriate for kids. And that’s what made it work, it made kids feel like we were in on the joke. Mix that in with a good story, great characters like Ray Stanz and Peter Venkman, and of course an awesome theme song by Ray Parker Jr and you get one of the greatest comedies ever.
This was the only time in which a Marvel movie managed to capture the tragedy of the Hulk. The late 2000s was a turning point in the comic book movie boom, and Hulk here was the first to truly show the world what he was capable of. A tragic tale of a scientist and a monster trapped together in one body, Hulk tells a great story about whether someone with these powers can use them for good or for evil. Definitely recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately the MCU started to become comedic after phase one so movies like the Hulk can’t be made anymore. What a shame.
Directed by Henry Selick, before he directed Coraline, this is the film that captures the imagination of childlike wonder. From the excitement and thrill of Halloween to the Joy and Happiness of Christmas. Not only that, it tells a great story about how ambition is a double edge sword. Jack’s sorry about finding his place in a world that overly celebrated Halloween makes for a great character arc, and the villain, Oogie Boogie is probably one of the best Disney villains ever. Such an underrated performance. A great movie to watch during the holidays.
2011 felt like yesterday, I miss it when I was a kid and I wasn’t overly worried about everything going on in the world. Anyways, man this movie feels like a rush. A classic throw back to westerns with a modern and meta twist. Rango is the type of movie you’d never expect to be produced by Nickelodeon of all companies. And that’s another thing, this was produced by Nickelodeon. The same company that makes SpongeBob and Dora, made Rango. Let that sink in. I love it when kids movies tell a very mature story and Rango is no exception. It’s about standing up for what’s right and helping the little man. Now time to walk into the sunset.
1999 was a really good year for animation. It’s funny how this movie would go on to predict America and Canada’s decreasing freiendship… damn you reality. Anyways, this is basically what happens when overreaction takes over society and how the act one of person can change everything… Mrs Browfloski. That’s right, she’s the real main villain of this movie. Anyways, not much to say but if you’re a fan of south park, you’re definitely gonna love this movie.
You HAD to be there during the endgame hype everyone. This is where the MCU should’ve ended, it is such a mind blowing adventure. A perfect conclusion to Tony Stark and Steve Roger’s stories and what would’ve been a great send off to a series. Unfortunately the show must go on. But hey, at least we can remember the good old days.
Surprisingly this is the only Alfred Hitchcock movie on my list, which I think is a real shame because the man has directed a plethora of amazing flicks. But if I had to choose one, it’d be Psycho. This movie was the first of what would inspire the slasher genre of movies as we tell the story of a normal looking man named Norman Bates, who is actually a cold hearted killer. This was probably the last of the traditional universal Gordo movies to be released but they went out with a bang for this. And at least it’s better than that shitty ass remake. Ugh.
Ignore the live action remake, this one right here is the true version of this story. The real deal. I remember seeing this movie as a kid and it blew my mind. Hell, it still blows my mind for how epic it is. I’m honestly stunned by how well the animation held up. Especially with its great soundtrack, story, and characters, you feel like you truly are riding a dragon here. I’m bowing down to this flick.
Well that’s all for this list. Tune in next time for movies 30-21 of my top fifty favorite movies list.

Pairing! Norman Bates x M! Reader
Summary: Confessing your feelings to Norman!
Words - 351! CW: Fluff , Angst , mentions of smut , mdni!🔞
At the beginning of July you started to work in the Bate's hotel to be able to pay for rent as you were still living with your parents at 20 years old, you didn't mind as you were family orientated anyways and loved being around them but you wanted your own independence and freedom to live how you wanted to live and do what made you happy. So why not work full time and save up some money for yourself.
As months went by you started to see new people come and go, as you were sorting out the bed linen and plumping up the pillows Norman bate's walked in "Hey man, just wanted to know how you're getting on with things, I'm just in the other room if you need anything" looking in his eyes they sparkled making heat creep up your neck "Thank you Norman" as he walked away into another room a sigh left your lips "why must he be so attractive, there's no point in telling him how I feel about him, he wouldn't feel the same".
A few days later you decided to distant yourself from Norman which wasn't intentional, it's just you couldn't deal with how you felt about him he was your friend and he only saw you at that, there wasn't any signs he liked you in that way but you were really cleaver at hiding how you felt about him.
Ignoring eye contact with him was hard, he would walk up to you as you were sat down on the bed put his legs between yours and lift your chin up with 2 fingers "why are you ignoring me, don't you like me" a sigh left your lips "can we talk" as Norman sat down next to you the air grew thick with anxiety and awkwardness "I've got to say something, the reason why I don't look at you or try to ignore is that I like you, you mean a lot to me and I can't take this anymo-" Norman's hands fell on your face and lips were connected to yours.
"I like you too".
