He watched as her usual smile finally came back. It made him happy that he could cheer her up.
Rody couldn’t hold his own smile back as she spoke with more energy this time around. It seemed his words really did mean something to her. “There you go. That’s the mindset you should have.” He smiled bigger. “You’re exactly where you need to be to achieve the best version of yourself. It’s okay to have worries and doubts, but never forget that you will reach your end goal.”
He glanced at her fist before looking back at her, seeing the determination in her eyes. A small laugh came from him. He wasn’t used to the word ‘hero’ being directed towards him. “Yeah, you’re welcome. I’m glad I could help and thanks for... confiding in me.” It was usually hard for Rody to trust others so easily. "I...can't even make the life of my parents easier. And I don't want to feel like...like I'm not a good heroine." She sighed and opened her eyes. "It's just...I've seen how fragile this whole world is and I wish I could do more, even if I can't do anything for myself."
She put on a sad smile. "I guess that's a silly thought, huh?"
