I’m working on something RR related but I feel like it’s gonna take a while. It’s possibly a bit stupid but it could also help get it recognised a bit more 👀

does spectrum have a time travel agency? it has to. or at least it’s in the works. like there are SO MANY SPECTRUMS, surely ONE of them has to be time travel, or at least will be in the future ya know??

In honour of spooky season (even though it’s not really a thing in Australia) how do you all think the RR characters would spend Halloween?
Everyday I’m amazed at how Lauren Child managed to create such a likable character as MOUSE HUXTABLE while still making her such a minor part of the story with almost no contribution to the plot-

Clancy becomes obsessed with aquariums, even though he’s still terrified of underwater creatures he just goes to get the adrenaline rush.
When Ruby’s older (like 18-21+ whatever) she, like the rest of the action agents gets trained to use a gun and everyone is terrified of her.
Crazy cops and Brooklyn 99 are like the same thing. aka Ruby would LOVE b99
I have more which I’ll add tomorrow but I’m extremely tired and I don’t think this makes sense but anyways thanks for reading them

one of my favourite things in the rr books is hitch in books 1-4 going from ‘this child is annoying as hell’ to i will look after this kid’ but then in book 5 he just goes full dad mode like he was one of the only people checking up on her & he was always trying to make sure she was the least stressed as possible and I just think that deserves a post

I’d like to say Ruby but if I’m being honest I’d probably be more like Mouse but that’s ok cause I love her
headcanon that froghorn takes over and ruby works as head of a codes department or something, kinda acts like blacker, and when froghorn is trying his best to be a tough serious boss, ruby will bring up some stupid shit froghorn did forty, fifty years ago and piss him off

I really wanna post my fancasts for all the rr characters skshakakajsk
so I was talking with a mutual right and we came to the conclusion that ruby is way more of a nerdy geeky kinda person than she claims to be.
like she has SHELVES of books about coding/codes, some about advanced maths, a bunch of comics, like she is a stereotype geek despite what she says.
i feel like lauren child did this on purpose but its just so funny to me lmao

Ok I have thought about this A LOT and I have cast a lot of the characters HOWEVER, Ruby & everyone else her age/in twinford high should be played by unknown actors period. I know like “oh but more people would watch if it was a famous person in the lead role” that’s what the other actors would help with. A RR movie could be the break through that the Harry Potter actors who hadn’t been in anything before got! Emma Watson (one of my biggest stans you’ve probably picked up on that by now) huge household name, and HP was her debut.
Anyways just a rant
Froghorn: …and that’s why the entire coding team is still here at Spectrum HQ at ten to midnight. Redfort, obviously, is here because she was the one who crashed into LB at subsonic speed and sent her flying across her office hard enough to knock a hole in the wall. Blacker is here because he was encouraging her, and everybody else is here because they were taking bets on how far she’d get down the hallway. I was not involved in the incident in the least.
Blacker: Wait. Why are you here then?
Froghorn: I am here to supervise, since everybody else here is apparently twelve years old and incapable of taking care of themselves.
Ruby: He’s actually here because he gave me the helmet before I started sliding, but he just doesn’t want anybody to know that he has fun, ever.

The whole gang is rich, excluding Red, and she is absolutely baffled by their need for huge houses and will poke fun at them all the time.
Mouse grows up to become a very well known screenwriter
Del is captain of every sports team there is, save for track, which she is definitely *not* bitter about
Elliot and Mouse are both really big nature lovers and big environmental activists
Red was the last one to make friends with the rest of them, she moved to after leaving her shitty dad in bumfack Nebaskra or something, her and her mum moved to Twinford when she was about 11 or 12.
speaking of which: fuck Red’s dad. I don’t even think this is a headcanon. I think this is canon.
anyway, Ruby, Clancy and Mouse are all friends from like, preschool or something.
Elliot showed up in kindy, Del in like, fifth/sixth grade, then Red.

Del has several *interesting* stories from the few times she volunteered to watch over Bug while no one else could
Everyone but Ruby and Clancy have this ongoing inside joke about all of the time Ruby has just gone MIA, avoiding them all, and Clancy starts acting real suspicious around the same time, and what they could be up to
Red bakes to cheer everyone up
Mouse and Red are avid tea drinkers
Ruby went through a whole week of dressing as doll-like as possible, to appease her mother and get out of a bit of trouble, and none of her friends have ever let her forget it
Elliot and Clancy are avid birthday planners
They also frequently geek out about sci-fi stuff together
When Mouse runs for class president (becuase you know she totally would) Ruby gets Hitch on board to come up with an elaborate plan to figure out how likely each candidate is to win and why, so she can help out Mouse a little, she deserves it. Ruby was feeling generous. Also she owed Mouse one.
Del and Ruby are RIVALS when it comes to ping pong, no one but the other can beat them and they’re ALWAYS neck to neck
Del will help patch up her friends if they’ve been hurt while skating, playing sport, in a fight, whatever, she’d gotten good at doing that for herself with all the sport and fighting she does
Red is a very talented artist
Clancy is the designated driver of the group once they turn sixteen
He also has the house that's most frequently used for parties, sleepovers, etc on account of it being SO HUGE
Red is constantly changing her hair
Elliot will help her. no one knows why. he just does.
Clancy is probably a renaissance faire nerd
Ruby laughs at him for it but not as hard as Minny does
