i am blaming satoru iwata's death for nintendo becoming bland and soulless
Video games are what inspired me to be a programmer today. Nintendo was the largest part of that inspiration. It's inspired the music I make, how I think, how I see things, and a lot more. (Some of the biggest being the Kirby series, GameBoy Camera and Pokemon Gold and Silver) When the Nintendo DS came out I was excited as hell to get around to hacking it to learn the in's and outs of the thing and someday code a licensed game for it or whatever the future Nintendo thing was going to be. When Nintendo released the Wii and mentioned "Blue Ocean Strategy" as apart of what influenced their business decisions I quickly grabbed up a hard cover copy of the book and read it multiple times (even later bought a digital copy).
