Curate, connect, and discover
Jay and Tally were alone now. “What is it?” Tally said, confused. “Follow me.” Jay simply took her into one of the rooms off the hallway, sat down, and said “Please don’t check the attic.” Tally was about to say something, when Jay said “You still owe me from the incident with Alex.” Tally closed her mouth, and asked quietly “Can I at least know why?” Jay leaned their head back and stared at the ceiling for a moment, before slowly saying “Someone loved someone else. That’s all I’ll say.” Tally almost asked who, but then realized who it was. Her eyes widened, then nodded. “I see.” Jay sighed. “Don’t let anyone know I told you.” They looked at her. “Especially not Alex.” Tally nodded again, and made her way down the stairs. “It’s clear. Anyone else find anything?” The other guards gave a ‘no ma’am.’ The three walked outside and waited. Tally turned to look Jay walking back behind the bar, winked out of sight from Alex, and walked out. Jay blinked in surprise, then smiled slightly. A voice came from the attic. “Are they gone yet?” Jay responded “They’re gone, James.” Another voice muttered something about staying up there and not putting a shirt back on, making James laugh. Alex smiled, and asked “Who e-exactly didn’t have their shirt on, Ace?” Another laugh came from the attic. “Why? Trying hook up with James?” Alex blushed and started stuttering. Jay laughed and went to open the hatch.
“Just to save you some trouble, the door on the right in there is just the bedroom Alex and I share,” Jay said to the Diamond, walking over to the door with the key. “Feel free to search the room, just maybe ask what’s in each drawer first.” The Diamond nodded as he waited. Alex just stood there, wondering what Tally was going to do. Tally turned, and noticed Alex staring at her. She sighed, and said “Listen, I’m sorry. I didn’t . . . I wasn’t thinking. I . . . I’m sorry.” Alex didn’t know how to respond, but Jay decided now would be a good time to ask if anyone wanted a drink. “I’d have one, but I don’t think the two of you trust me around alcohol,” Tally answered. The other Club shouted down the stairs “I think I found somethin’!” Tally looked up, with an eyebrow raised. She headed up the stairs, and didn’t see Alex and Jay exchange a look that said ‘well, shit.’ The Club had found that there was a semi-concealed hatch in the ceiling. Jay followed Tally, and, when she asked them about it, told her that it was just storage. “Then you won’t mind if I check . . .” Tally trailed off. Jay looked over at the other Club, and said “Can I talk to Tally? Alone?” The Club looked at Tally for confirmation, who nodded.
The room emptied faster than if someone had eaten twenty cans of beans the day before. The tall Club took off her helmet, and walked over to Jay. Jay simply tilted their head up a little bit, and smiled. “And to what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?” The Club looked down at them with a cold, unamused expression. “I don’t need the sass. I trust you remember me?” “Oh, yes! Captain Tally! How could I forget the time you tried to steal my girlfriend?” Alex tripped, realizing why Tally seemed so familiar. Tally had gotten a pretty drunk one night, and started flirting with Alex. She got way too grabby, and Jay has to escort Tally out. “I’m surprised the bruise isn’t s-still there,” Alex blurted out. Tally flushed slightly, and said “If you’re done with the snarky comments, then I’ll get to searching this place.” “Just don’t search Alex, and everything should be fine,” Jay responded, and started mixing a drink. The other Club started moving towards the stairs in the back, the Heart going for the back door, and the Diamond going for the ‘Employees Only’ door behind the bar.
Jay stretched, got out of bed, and started looking through their closet for something to wear. They debated between the gangster-movie suit and the murder-mystery dress for a moment, and went with the dress. They made sure it was one they could change out of quickly, though. Jay still remembered the time a guard threw up on them. The Hearts overindulge way too easy. At least he tipped them before ordering another drink. Jay looked back at the bed, smiling at the way Alex’s hair formed a sort of abstract flower. Jay kissed her, and went to turn on the ‘Open’ sign in the window. ——— Alex yawned, looking around. She started to reach for Jay, then noticed the time. “Shit!” She jumped up and dressed as quickly as she could. She made sure that it’d be something that Jay would like, but not too flashy. That’d draw attention away from Jay and, by extension, the bar. Jay didn’t mind if any of the patrons flirted with Alex or if she flirted back a little, as long as she wasn’t too serious. Alex hurriedly fixed her hair as she walked out into the main room. “And here’s my beautiful lady!” exclaimed Jay as they kissed Alex on the cheek. They slid someone’s drink down to them, then rolled her eyes as Alex blushed and smoothed her hair. “Alex, your hair is beautiful. You don’t need to change it.” Alex smile a little sheepishly, then said “Thanks, b-but . . ,” she winked at Jay. “We can keep doing that later.” She grabbed the serving off the counter and a few drinks, then got to work. ———— Alex was walking past the window when she noticed the guards approaching. And they didn’t look like they were here to drink. Alex quickly scanned the uniforms - two Clubs, a Diamond, and a Heart, all of them in full armor. She caught Jay’s eye, then made a few quick gestures, a sort of sign language the two of them came up with. Jay nodded, and started pulling a few specific bottles. They sighed, and made sure they had the extra suit stashed under the bar. The guards slammed the door open, and the whole of Clubs’ Tavern went quite. One of the Club guards - tall, fair tan, wavy black hair, and familiar - said “Everyone out!” She turned to Alex and Jay. “Except you two.”
don’t mind me, just looking up how to come out on wikihow i’m not nervous at all no what do you mean
One of the best ones is ‘Dogman in Barn.’
everyone needs to look at her blog because she is one of the best people i have ever seen ever
I feel really crappy about myself and Idk why. I basically do everything I do just to make other people laugh or at least feel a little better, because when I make other people happy then it make me happy. But today, it just feels like I can’t make anyone happy. I usually turn to scrolling through my dashboard, but that’s just reminding me that my posts are basically guaranteed to not even have a chance to make anyone happy, let alone be noticed. Sorry the length! Needed to get that out.
1. don’t worry about it. this blog is built for the followers and you never have to worry about annoying me with anything.
2. i’ve dealt wit some similar stuff and i’m really sorry that you’re going through this, those emotions are super tough. something that i’ve found in life is that you need to live your life for yourself. that doesn’t mean that you are selfish or ignore the needs of others, but your life is just that- yours. so try and work toward making yourself happy just as much as you would anyone else. it improves your life immensely and it actually ends up making others happier as well.
hope you start to feel better, sending you all my love💕🌸
: : : : Prologue - 19 years ago : : : : “The Ace has been born!” The first male Ace of Spades in 100 years. He doesn’t know it yet, but he is effectively a prince. He is one of the four Aces, each one assigned a Jack. When each King and Queen pair dies, the Ace will marry the Jack and replace them. : : : : 11 years ago : : : : However, the Ace of Spades was different from the others. Ace talked to a boy named James a lot. Ace really liked him, and his parents said that the two were almost never apart. What they didn’t know was that the two were in love. : : : : 3 years ago : : : : Ace had tried so many times to talk his parents, the King and Queen, into changing his who Jack was. But they were adamant that they chose correctly. They told him he would have to do something drastic to even get them to start considering it. Ace ran from home in a spectacular fashion. He always hated that stained glass window. Ace and James never looked back as they ran from the castle. The two are rarely seen, except by those they know they can trust. Like Jay, the Jack of Clubs. ~~~~Chapter 1~~~~ Jay stretched, got out of bed, and started looking through their closet for something to wear. I just realized something. One moment I basically pour my heart out into a poem, then the next I’m posting about how humans are basically just cucumbers with anxiety. If you have ever wanted a perfect description of my personality, that’s it.
Wow. I just checked my blog to see if maybe one person noticed any of my posts. I come back to what I’m pretty sure is more people looking at my poem than the rest of the posts on my little blog. I was not expecting that, and I would just like to say that I wish I could make the people around me half as happy as you guys made me. Thank you
Am I a man, a woman, neither, both or does it change from day to day?/ I honestly don’t know/ it just goes to show/ that almost nothing's as simple as it seems. / I dream of reams and reams/ of stories/ of the glories/ from a throne, from space, from a place/ in another universe./ I want to be free with my ideas. With myself/ But I can’t get them out because I’m afraid./ What will they say?/ Will they tell me to just pick straight or gay?/ Or will I be the target of their hate? Day to day, I worry. I can’t know./ Sometimes everything just sounds like a crow/ crowing “Nevermore!/ For evermore/ You will not be sure/ who your friends are./” I know I got the bird wrong/ but this is getting long/ and I haven’t even started to begin.
