Even Later
To say that Chloé Bourgeois was pissed would be a massive understatement. Quite honestly, there are no words to describe how utterly ridiculous this all is.
And to think, everything was perfect a week ago! She had the world at her beck and call (no she didn’t), she was a perfect superhero (no she wasn’t), and Adrien adored her! (No, he truly didn’t.)
But then her lousy, incompetent sidekicks betrayed her! They tossed her to the curb the one time she faltered- and she only faltered because they chose not to do their jobs! Scarlet Lady was left to face that nasty Akuma all by herself, and what did Chat Noir and Marigold do?
“Go off, Scarlet Lass!” Marigold cheered, voice as high-pitched and annoying as usual. “Show her what’s for!”
They cheered on the Akuma. They laughed at her, laughed at all of her hard work and all that she had done for them! What did they know about being the leader of the team? They were just stupid little sidekicks, they couldn’t win without her! They needed Scarlet Lady!
(As it turns out, they didn’t.)
The next day, Chloé showed up to school bitter and cranky, both from a lack of sleep (the de-Akumatized ex-fangirl had yelled in her face for an hour before walking away, finally satisfied) and a lack of Miraculous. She stormed into the class, ready to complain her frustrations away to Sabrina.
She wasn’t prepared to find her class yelling excitedly, already talking about Ladybug.
And really? Ladybug? Of all things, that’s what Marigold came up with? Wow, great, superb! A thief stole her Miraculous and didn’t even use a good name. How embarrassing.
Chloé glared at the room as she walked to her seat, and her anger only grew as Alya smirked at her.
“Hey, Chloé!” Alya said, voice taunting. “Did you hear the news? Your ever beloved Scarlet Lady has been replaced!”
“You’re one to talk,” Chloé snapped back. “After all, you run Scarlet Lady’s blog-”
“You mean the Ladyblog,” Alya interrupted, brandishing her phone. “Times are changing, Chloé, and so is my blog! Now I get to focus on a real hero!”
“And Chat Noir!” Marinette piped up, all too happy to speak her mind. “Alya’s got the blog split so that there’s an equal split between the Parisian duo!”
“The real Parisian duo,” Adrien added, leaning into Marinette, which, what?! When did Adrien start getting cuddly with that, that baker’s daughter of a fashion disaster?
Chloé scowled, looking away. “As if! I doubt that new girl can take over the mantle that Scarlet Lady created! No one could be that good!”
The only response she got was laughter. Alix was the one to respond.
“Please. Ladybug is Marigold. She announced the change in position last night to Alya herself! Apparently Scarlet Lady’s identity got revealed to Hawkmoth, which, wow. You had one job, but whatever. So Chat Noir and Marigold decided that a new Ladybug had to be chosen- which, thank God- so Chat Noir gave the Miraculous to Marigold.” She shrugs. “And I don’t know what cloud you shoved your head in, but Marigold has done wayyy more than Scarlet Lady ever did.”
“She does seem to be much better at being a true hero,” Max added in, and Chloé growled.
“Please! You guys are just jealous that Scarlet Lady is so much cooler than any of you!”
“Scarlet Lady has never helped any of us,” Nino stated. “It was always Chat Noir or Marigold. I, for one, think Marigold should have been Ladybug from the start. Probably would’ve been better in the long run.” The class agreed easily, as if they were right.
“I-” The bell rang, cutting Chloé off. Huffing, the girl stormed over to her spot. “Whatever! This is just ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!”
And it got worse. Chloé couldn’t believe it! Not only was her stupid little class infatuated with Ladybug, but so was all of Paris! They followed every little thing that dumb sidekick did, praising her for whatever she did!
“Akuma battles are quicker than ever before!”
“And look at that teamwork! The two work together so flawlessly, it’s impeccable!”
“Ladybug is such a natural leader! She’s got an eye for solutions, really!”
“And Chat Noir has somehow become even greater!”
Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!
And then, get this, the two were spotted kissing. Chloé wanted to gag as the reporters had an absolute field day, raving over the new ‘power couple’.
‘Those two sidekicks deserve each other. They’re not good enough for anyone else,’ Chloé told herself, shutting off her television for the night.
The day after ‘LadyNoir’ started trending was even worse, somehow. Chloé got to school, doing her best to ignore the stupidity of her peers, when a comment threw her off of her game.
“Ladybug and Chat Noir are so cute together!” Alya raved. “I just feel bad for you, Marinette.”
“Oh?” Marinette asked, ever so stupidly. “W-why do you feel bad?” Ugh, that stupid stutter.
“Well, with Chat Noir swept up in Ladybug’s arms, you don’t get a chance with him. I’m sorry, girlie.” Alya seemed upset, which, ew? Marinette would never be good enough for a sidekick, as if she’d have a chance with someone better than an absolute fool with no money to his name.
‘Maybe she should date Nathaniel. Little artist freaks could be happy together and stay quiet,’ Chloé thought with a smirk.
That smirk quickly fell, however, when Adrien turned around and asked, “Well, Marinette, if you can’t pursue Chat Noir anymore…would it be alright if I pursue you?”
What. The. Fuck.
The room was silent as Marinette giggled. “I thought you’d never ask! There’s a new movie coming out on Friday, want to see it together?”
Adrien nodded like some lovesick puppy, and Chloé-
Chloé was done. Absolutely done.
Storming out of the room, she missed the knowing glance that passed between the new couple.
Slamming open the bathroom door, Chloé glares at the group of girls who gossip with one another, giggling as they apply their stupid makeup to their stupid faces. They see her and panic, darting out immediately. A smart decision, because Chloé Bourgeois is not in the mood to deal with some lowly people.
She stalks around the bathroom like a caged animal, glaring at the walls, the floor, the stalls, the door. Everything pisses her off, from the bright lighting to the dirty mirrors that reflect her glares and curled frown, the shows off her bare ears, lacking any accessories.
She looks away from the mirrors, missing the sight of the purple butterfly that phases through the wall, merging into her purse and allowing the outline of a mask to line her face.
“Scarlet Lady,” Hawkmoth cooes, voice serene and calm. “Your lousy sidekicks have thrown you to the side, betraying you for the sake of fame. Their act of treachery is befitting of a villain, undoubtedly worse, and I am aghast to see such wrongdoings being done by the ‘heroes’. I refuse to fight against such impure people, and as such I will give you the power to overthrow the new Ladybug, so that I may have a proper enemy once more. All that I ask for is Chat Noir’s Miraculous, as he is also unworthy of wielding such power, and in return I will give you the power to defeat Ladybug. Antibug, will you answer this call?”
Chloé smirks, satisfaction overcoming her. “It would be my pleasure, Hawkmoth.”
And then she’s covered in purple.
—–
Marinette always thought she’d be a normal girl with a normal life. She had dreams of becoming a designer, sure, but even those dreams were rather modest. She wanted to make a difference, sure, but she never thought that she would become somebody.
So imagine her surprise when she ended up becoming a hero of Paris not just once, but twice. First as Marigold, the Bee who rose up to fight beside Chat Noir when his own partner was lacking in, well, everything. Then to become Ladybug, the one who can reverse any damage done by Akumas and to act as Chat Noir’s other half.
It was unexpected, to say the least, but that’s not to say it is unwanted. No, Marinette loves her life. She loves being able to help people, being able to make a difference in the world. She loves patrolling with Chat Noir at night, hours of laughing and joking as they leap across the horizon. She loves the friends she’s made since this whole villainous mess started. And, of course, she loves her new boyfriend, both in and out of the mask, Adrien “Chat Noir” Agreste.
Overall, Marinette is happy. She’s really, truly happy.
So, as the universe goes, Chloé Bourgeois tries to ruin her day. Because that is simply how the world works.
A crash is heard outside of the window, and class is quickly disrupted as her peers race over to look for the source.
“An Akuma!” Kim shouts, ever so helpful. Marinette and Adrien peer out, eyes quickly trained on the rampant Akuma.
Marinette rolls her eyes when she sees the villain du jour. The blonde girl wears a black suit with red polka dots, a matching yoyo currently being swung about, hitting whatever she can. From the obvious reference to Ladybug to the ever present pout, it’s obvious.
“Chloé,” Marinette and Adrien mutter in unison, and then they sneak off to transform.
As soon as they’re suited up, the duo slips outside, speaking quietly to each other.
“Think it’s because of your popularity, or because we’re dating?” Chat asks, smile light and joking.
“Maybe both. Who knows, maybe she’s been playing hard to get this whole time, chaton.” Ladybug winks, giggling as the blond curls his nose in disgust.
“Mon Dieu, don’t even say that. We both know that she was just obsessed with the model boy.”
“Poor boy. I hear he’s got a girlfriend, though, so maybe that caused her to snap?”
“Could be. Oh well. If she’s anything like she was as Scarlet, she’ll be an easy fight.” And with that, they come face to face with the Akuma.
“Ladybug,” she sneers. “I am Antibug, and I’ve come to reclaim my Miraculous!” She shouts out the words, and Ladybug is very aware of Alya as she leans out of the window, phone catching every word.
“Definitely can’t get it back now,” Ladybug whispers, and Chat Noir snorts. Louder, Ladybug says. “The Miraculous is not yours, nor should it have ever been. I have been informed that you stole it from its rightful user, and they have granted it to me instead.” When Tikki told Marinette that she was chosen, not Chloé, the girl had been pissed.
“Please! As if that stupid Dupain-Cheng deserved it!” Antibug states, just as loudly, and now Ladybug is glad that she came up with her small lie. Otherwise, her identity would be broadcast to all of Paris, if not the whole world, by now. As it is, Ladybug can hear the whispers of her shocked classmates, surprised to hear that their friend was originally chosen to be their beloved heroine.
Shaking her head, Ladybug forces herself to ignore her peers. She has more pressing matters to attend to.
Like the fact that, for an incompetent hero, Antibug is a surprisingly good villain. She plays dirty, using her yoyo to trip up Chat Noir and Ladybug, throwing random objects for them to dodge or deflect, and calling multiple Unlucky Charms in an attempt to throw them off.
“Of course she’s a better villain than a hero,” Chat Noir complains as he leaps over a car, the fight by now taking place in the abandoned street in front of Dupont. “It only makes sense, considering villains are motivated by selfishness, while a hero has to be selfless.”
“You’re one to talk about selfishness!” Antibug taunts before throwing a car at him. Ladybug catches him with her yoyo, pulling him out of reach. “You betrayed me so you could give your little girlfriend my Miraculous.”
“Your identity was revealed, and you were a lousy hero! As if we’d give you the Miraculous that was never supposed to be yours in the first place!” Chat screams back, venting out some of his anger. Ladybug takes the chance to snag Antibug’s yoyo with her own, pulling away the weapon.
“Chat!” She cries, tossing him the weapon. Without even summoning his power, the blond crushes it in his grip, letting out a small purple butterfly.
“No more evildoing for you, little Akuma!” Ladybug says, catching the Akuma in her yoyo. Quickly, she casts her Miraculous cure, letting a shower of ladybugs fill the air as all of the damage disappears.
All that is left is one pissed off Chloé Bourgeois, and Alya recording behind a car.
Ladybug sighs, stepping forwards. Now is the time where she and Chat Noir usually comfort the deakumatized victim, helping them to find a solution. And, as a hero, she and Chat should look past their feelings, right?
Nope. Ladybug quickly decides otherwise when the blonde lets out a yell, lunging at her and reaching for her earrings. Without hesitation, Ladybug restrains the girl with her yoyo, pinning her arms to her side.
“Chloé Bourgeois,” she speaks, voice cold and harsh. “As Scarlet Lady, you put Paris in danger for far too long in order to satiate your ego. You left your partner to do all of the work, letting him run himself ragged to save the city, putting twice the work on him. You never changed, allowing yourself to become even more vain and self-centered with every passing day. You were anything but a hero from the very start, having stolen the Miraculous from a girl who had the potential to save this city from the start. Instead, that girl will never have the chance to help as much as she wants, because you have broadcasted her identity without a second thought. And even though she chose me to take her place, you still try to defy her wishes, going so far as to try stealing the Miraculous from me. You are not Akumatized, either, so you have no excuses. You are a menace to society and a danger to Paris, and you will never and have never been a hero. Good bye.”
Exhaling, Ladybug retracts her yoyo and leaps out of view, Chat Noir following her. They detransform together, exhausted.
“You went off on her,” Adrien says, a small grin appearing on his face. “Mon Dieu, princess, it’s like you said everything I ever wanted to.”
“Thanks, chaton,” Marinette replies, leaning against him as they walk out of the alley. “Do you think I went too far?”
“I think you said exactly what you should have. She’s gone far too long unchecked, it was about time someone told her what’s for.”
The words relieve her of her doubt, and give her the strength to walk back into their classroom.
Chloé isn’t there, but the class speaks of her nonetheless.
“I can’t believe she was Scarlet Lady!” Alya cries out, then pauses. “Actually, no, I can. Dang. And I ran a whole blog about her. Ew.”
“It explains why she was so awful,” Kim says bluntly.
“And why she always ditched me…more so than usual, at least,” Sabrina whispers, saddened by this revelation.
“And she stole the Miraculous, too!” Rose cries. “How awful!”
Alya’s head snaps up, looking to Marinette, who still stands beside Adrien in the front of the class. “From you, right? Ladybug said it was stolen, and Chloé said it was yours!”
“You were supposed to be Ladybug!” Alix shouts, slamming her fist on her desk. “Damn, that would’ve been so cool!”
“Heheh, yeah…but when Marigold told me what had happened, I knew that I couldn’t take the title,” Marinette says, trying to look bashful.
“Why not?” Max asks. “If it was yours originally, why couldn’t you use it?”
“Because Chloé knew. And I was afraid that she would broadcast my identity in order to get ‘revenge’…and it looks like I was right to assume that.”
Alya frowns. “That’s terrible, girlie. You could’ve been a hero by Chat Noir’s side the whole time.”
Marinette shrugs, leaning into Adrien’s side even more. “Yeah, but I can’t let that stop me. I’ll still help when I can, but Marigold…I knew I could trust her to be a hero. So she became Ladybug.”
“Yeah, Mari here doesn’t need a Miraculous to be a hero,” Adrien pipes up, smiling widely. “Remember how she always threw herself into fights? She was always helping out with battles.” He laughs. “She only stopped because Chat Noir practically begged her to stay out of the way. He was worried that she’d get hurt.”
The class cooes over the statement, agreeing easily, until class starts back up at last. Marinette takes her seat once more, ready to continue the day.
“Just so you know,” Alya whispers, “I think you would be an amazing hero.”
Marinette simply smiles, and she knows that Alya is right.
Marinette thought she’d be a normal girl, but she’s so much more.
And now it’s Ladybug’s time to shine.
Author’s Note: At long last, I finally made a sequel to Later, which I wrote back in October. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoy zoe’s amazing comic! ~Salthaven

the quality isnt the best but whatever (and there is accidendental red marker on wallaces eye;-;)
Hm... For au Steven actually. So what lead you to seek Groudon, presumably?
*au Steven*
Well, actually when I first sought after Groudon, I was blinded by rage, fueled by Wallace's betrayal.
Ah, I can remember feeling particularily violent, I had really at first just wanted to kill, summoning Groudon for the sake of blood.
But I calmed soon enough, realizing that maybe Groudon can be used to heal and replenish our broken earth
That's all, really.
What's your relationship like with Juan then, Wallace?
-clearza
*Wallace*
Oh, very positive! Ah, as a child it was miserable knowing my parents just were too busy for me. So at first I'd hated Juan, as he was but a replacement to me.
But as time went on... I learned to open up to my mentor/guardian, appreciating that someone is there for me. Juan knew I was hurt, and allowed me to take time to heal, on my own schedule.
Now? Oh, he couldn't be prouder of me and Steven. She was so supportive of me becoming Champion too!
Also, Juan has interchangable pronouns if I confused you (He/Her/They/It)
Anywho, Me and it are on lovely terms, talking or staying in contact constantly! Them and Steven are some of my most trusted pupil.
Thank you for asking!
...what happened with Steven, if you don't mind my asking?
well for a good while steven and wallace were married and happy
they love each other very deeply they're gonna have to perfect life and so they wanted to make a team together to help make the world a better place
they had two different and separate ideas on how they wanted to do it
steven was heavily focused on his idea and he spent too much time not paying attention to his supposed love (wallace)
with time wallace began drift away from steven's ideals he believes that he could do better don't steven was doing that his ideas had a deeper and more powerful meaning than stevens... rocks
wallace began to fall out of love for steven and steven ignored it
wallace left believing he needed to leave steven and create his own new team
team aqua
wallace with his new team attacked steven's team from the shadows and making steven believe that his own husband wallace was dead
wallace let himself be seen eventually showing that he does not care for steven and that he wants steven to fail, claiming that the sea neednt be destoyed by human laziness and neglect
wallace blames steven for everything that is happened and will continue to blame steven for everything that will happen for the rest of time
*next, I'll make stevens POV
🎁 - How do they feel about their birthday/birthdays in general?
🧑🦰 - Have they ever dyed their hair? Ever cut it themself?
🎮 - What’s their favorite game?
🐒 - What’s their favorite animal? - er, Pokemon?
-clearza
*AU Wallace*
birthdays to be honest are stupid
a birthday is just a reminder that of the day that you were put into this pitiful world
on my birthday we go on like nothing's happening because to be honest it's more productive that way
no i have never died my hair if i dyed my hair i feel so it will be disrespectful to sootopolitans, and i couldnt do that...
now cutting my hair is essential though because you need to have a good hairstyle and that involves cutting your hair often so yeah
my favorite game i don't play video games at all so to be honest i don't really like video games and i don't have a favorite though i keep hearing this one game called among us and it makes me want to slam my head into a wall
favorite pokemon? kyogr- no- milotic. it is the only one that is there for me (f*cking steven)
Team magma and team aqua's ideal will differ
-
I'm curious, did you have any plans about that quite yet? What those ideals may be?
(also Abt the ship name - terminal runs off the tongue better than terminus or termination)
-clearza
to be honest i don't quite have an idea for team aqua yet
or team magma
the only thing i can say is that i am very much debating making it edgy
arceus help me, im gonna give innocent men trauma
about the ship name, I love it :>
Maybe have the aqua/magma Steven/Wallace be called termination/end shipping? Opposite of origin and all. Would fit! :)
-clearza
i never thought of that.
i don't even need to say anything because that works and i don't need to add anything
i appreciate it thank you so much
We're getting both Milotic and Metagross in the dlc - (Milotic in part 1, Metagross in part 2), and in the little screen they had showing some of the mons... Gotta wonder why Milotic and Metagross were the two BIG IMPORTANT POKEMON. They chose to show off...
(Seriouly, thank you, cleaza!)
to be honest i would not know why they would do this but i do like to think that because metagross is coming and steven stone exists and beloved character returning...
it is quite possible that steven stone will show up
Milotic though?
while my origin shipping brain likes to think that wallace may show up it is very highly unlikely
i think that they just chose this pokemon because it's a popular hoenn pokemon, unlike metagross which gets me screeching like a rabid animal at the thought of steven coming to paldea
Hm. Seeing as you brought up the Elite Four, I must ask in turn. If you wish to answer -
Your opinion, or thoughts of Steven?
-clearza
*Wallace*
Steven, hm?
Well to be obvious first, I love Steven.
We have always been fond of each other, really. Ever since we met when we both stated our goals and passions to each other.
I wished to Master the beauty contests, whilst Steven was generic like most, daring to become Champion.
Yet I reached my goal so quickly, so I decided to train my pokemon to be there for the Gym when Juan would step down. Steven was still getting sent to the pokemon center by Wattson! I followed him to cheer him on, and he then won every battle! (He has admitted that I am why he is Champion, which is sweet of him <3)
Long story short, he took me on vacation to Alola and proposed to me there! I love him!
My apoligies for rambling.
On a different note, he is a nutjob.
Well then, by these terms!
Wallace... Hm. Your starter? Who might that have been?
thank you so much clearza!
*Wallace*
Well this is quite the question considering I have Swampert!
if not Mudkip, maybe Treeko then! (if it was a water type then in no doubt I'd have picked it!)
I think I have two issues with Torchic. One: Blazekin just doesn't have that elegance that I adore in pokemon. Two: Fire typing and Fighting typing. Can't say I like 'em.
hey I really love your bmc/lsoh crossover so uhh here's your bastard plant! thank you for smashing together my two favourite musicals

“The apartment on the far side are secure,” Boulder called down to the Griffin Rock Rescue Team as they approached the scorched shell of the building. “Just stay away from the wall. Heatwave joined them, bracing his hand beneath the exposed floor of the unstable side of the building to hopefully offer some support in case anything were to happen. Blades cupped his hands and allowed Dani to step into them, lifting her up so she could shine her flashlight into the windows. Kade, Graham, and Cody stayed outside to watch while Chief headed for the door. One of the citizens had apparently left their medicine inside, and he wasn’t going to deprive them of that.
“Dad, wait!” Chief turned to see Mic jogging over to him. “I’m coming with you.”
“Kiddo, I appreciate it, but I don’t think-“
“It’s safe? Yeah, I know,” Mic said. “You always insist we use the buddy system, and you’re no exception. That’s why I’m coming with you. Plus, four eyes are better than two, right?”
Chief let out a breath but smiled, squeezing her shoulder. “Okay. Good point. Just stay close, alright? I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Mic nodded and pulled out a flashlight, clicking it on. The two of them approached the building together, passing by Chase who was crouching by the entrance. “Please remain in my line of sight, Chief, Mic,” the police bot said, staring down at them. “Then I can assure your safety.”
“Mr. Hooten said his medicine’s in the bedroom,” Chief explained, a gentle laugh just barely audible in his voice. “We’ll be careful, partner.”
Chase still watched them like a hawk as the pair went inside. Mic glanced up at the ceiling as some dust rained down upon them, and then glanced back. Her littlest brother, Cody, had his flashlight trained upon them and was watching closely. He looked worried. Trying to ease his concern, Mic shot him a wink and a wave. Cody waved back, smiling slightly, and seemed a bit more at ease. Even so, his worry didn’t disappear completely, especially when the building’s supports groaned loudly.
Mic caught up to Chief, and both of them swept their flashlights across the room. Dust trickled down from the ceiling again, and Chief hissed gently through his teeth. “We shouldn’t stay here very long,” he said.
“In and out,” Mic said as the pair reached the bedroom door. “I’ll check the bathroom cabinets, you check the bedside table.”
“Good plan,” Chief said, smiling slightly. He watched her out of the corner of his eye as he checked the bedside table, making sure she wasn’t near any particularly unstable spots. His fingers brushed over a hard, plastic container, and he scooped it up triumphantly. “Jackpot!”
“Great,” Mic said, jogging out of the bathroom. “Let’s get out of here. This place is giving me the creeps.”
“Probably because it’s falling apart,” Chief teased good-naturedly, ruffling their hair as they joined him at the exit. “Those are your survival instincts talking.”
“At least that means I have them,” Mic joked as they walked together towards the massive hole in the wall. They could see Chase waiting just outside. “Unlike Kade.”
“Don’t bully your older brother,” Chief chuckled. “…But you’re not wrong.” Mic grinned, and Chief couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic for the times when she was just a little girl. His kid had grown up to be fearless and kind, and he couldn’t be prouder, but sometimes time just seemed to pass too fast.
Suddenly, a rumble like an earthquake shook the building, and dust and rubble began to pour down from the ceiling in earnest. Chief and Mic paused, both of their eyes widening when they saw cracks racing along the walls and ceiling. “Go!” Chief said, pushing her ahead of him as they ran through the final doorway and towards the gaping hole in the side of the building.
“Dad! Mic!” they heard Cody cry from outside, rushing closer but not daring to go inside the collapsing building. Mic looked up again, watching the cracks beat them to the exit. Her heart sank. They weren’t going to make it. Or at least not both of them.
The choice was easy. She fell back slightly, grabbing her father’s shoulders. With one mighty shove, the roar of the building crashing down filling her ears, Mic pushed him out the hole right as debris slammed down into her, completely obscuring them from sight.
“MIC!” Chief screamed, scrambling to his feet before the dust could even settle, tearing into the debris with his bare hands even as it scraped against his skin. No, no, no, not his kid, please-!
Chase and Heatwave were at his side instantly, the firebot gently nudging him aside. “Boulder, get Chief!” he yelled hoarsely. They needed him out of the way to move the debris without risking hurting even more of their family. Boulder nodded and scooped up Chief, murmuring comfort to him as the police chief beat against his servos, begging him to let him find his daughter.
Chase lifted a beam, and Heatwave cleared away the last of the debris, and there she was. Humans were already so small compared to them, but curled up on her side and unmoving, Mic looked tiny. Chase felt his vents stop intaking as he noted the dust and blood coating her hair and clothes. Boulder and Blades leaned closer from where they had come to help, Blades’ optics instantly filling with coolant.
Was she breathing? Heatwave retracted his visor, servos beginning to tremble uncontrollably. Chief had gone silent in Boulder’s grasp, staring up at the green bot’s wide, glassy optics and praying it didn’t meant what he thought it did. Finally, Mic shuddered and coughed weakly, then spasmed as pain wracked her body.
Chase didn’t feel nearly as much relief as he thought. She was alive, yes, but the shuddering clearly meant something was wrong. He clenched his fists to force a tremor out of his servos and reached down, scooping her up as gently as possible.
There was a sharp, loud crack, and Mic gave a wheezy, shrill scream. Chase forced himself not to flinch and make things worse, having felt something in her abdomen snap. Chief redoubled his struggles in Boulder’s hands.
“Blades, transform!” Dani cried, panic audible in her voice as she waved her bot over. “We need to get them to a hospital, now!”
The entire family rushed over as Chase lowered her to the ground away from the building, but it was Kade who carefully received her. “I’ve got you, I’ve got you,” he said, cradling her as gently as he could even as Mic jerked with pain at the disturbance. Chief helped support him as the two of them rushed to Blades’ waiting alt mode, and Kade climbed in with Dani.
Cody grasped his father’s hand as Blades took off, carrying his sibling away. He had never seen his father so pale… or one of his family member’s so grievously injured. Chief’s hand shook in his, and he squeezed it. “Dad, she’s going to be okay, right?” he asked shakily.
Chief took a deep breath, pulling his composure back together. He couldn’t fall apart in front of his family. Not now. Not when they needed him most. But god, if he lost his kid… “She’ll pull through,” he said, squeezing Cody’s hand back and praying it was true. “She’s tough. Let’s get Mr. Hooten his medicine, and then we can get to the hospital.”

Meanwhile, at the Clay scrapyard, Fix-It suddenly started to wave his arms to get Bumblebee and Optimus’ attention. “We’re receiving a transmission!” He turned to tap on the console, frowning. “Huh. I d-d-d-d-didn’t even know we had a transmittor. Anyway, it’s from, uh… Griffin Rock?”
“Griffin Rock?” Bumblebee repeated, approaching with a smile on his face. “That’s great! That team is the best. What did they say?”
“Um, they said to come as fast as possible,” Fix-It said. “Apparently someone named Mic got… er… caught in a falling building?”
The smile slid right off of Bumblebee’s faceplates, and Optimus’ expression hardened in a way that it usually only did in battle. “Does it mention her condition?”
“She’s alive,” Fix-It said, worried. “But not in good shape. Are- are we leaving right now?”
“We must,” Optimus said, activating his battle mask. “This person is very important to us both. If they have been hurt, we must check on them.” He transformed, revving his engines. “Autobots, roll out!”

Alright, hope you enjoy the angst! >:D (And the slightly cliché ending, lol) Writing Chief being extra parental right before everything quite literally comes crashing down was my favorite part personally because it makes everything hurt that much worse!

Thank you @leafdragon16 you are amazing Pal 😭
A nurse was wheeling Mic out of the hospital in a wheelchair. She pushed her through some doors, and bright sunlight hit her eyes for what felt like the first time in weeks. Instantly, five people rushed towards her, slowing as they reached her and offering gentle hugs. Kade clearly wanted to hug her until she felt like her spine was going to break, but knew he would hurt her if he did. Dani and Cody were crying a little bit and holding her hands. Graham was holding her shoulders from behind and sniffling audibly. And then, Chief knelt down in front of the wheelchair to wrap her in a warm, gentle embrace.
“Hey there, kiddo,” Chief’s voice sounded thicker than usual. “How’re you feeling?”
“Like a building fell on me,” Mic smiled, sniffling a little and feeling a choked up herself.
Chief stood up and took a step back, placing his hands on her shoulders and looking her in the eyes with a serious expression. “Don’t you ever do that again.”
“Dad-“
“No. Sweetheart, I understand why you did what you did, but…” Chief ran a hand down his face. His eyes were slightly red, and there were dark circles under them. “I’m an old man. I’ve lived an incredible life. You are a young, bright kid with her whole life ahead of her. If you had died in that rubble, I- I don’t know what I’d do.”
“I couldn’t just let you get hurt,” Mic murmured. She remembered what had happened all too clearly- the way the building shook, they way her father’s eyes had widened when he saw what was going to happen, the awful terror of knowing that he couldn’t get out of the way in time and she needed to do something-
“I know,” Chief sighed, squeezing her shoulders. “I know. But please, promise me you won’t ever do that again.” She nodded and leaned forwards and hugged him tightly. Chief hugged her back, and held her until she let go. “Now, let’s go home, huh? The Bots are gonna be over the moon.”
Chief circled around behind her to start pushing the wheelchair while her siblings walked beside her. “Heard you broke your ribs. How’s that feel?” Kade asked.
“Not great,” she winced. “It’s a lot better, but it hurts to breathe.”
Kade ruffled her hair and messed it up. “Yeah, broken ribs suuuuck. Tell you what, once we get out of here me and Heatwave will get you some ice cream.”
“Sounds great!”
“Bet you’re glad to be out of the hospital, huh?” Graham asked.
“Oh yeah. There’s nothing good on TV, and the food sucks.” Her siblings laughed at the way she scrunched up her face.
“Don’t think you’re out of the woods yet, you’re gonna be on bed rest for quite some time,” Dani remarked. “And I’ll be watching you personally to make sure you don’t try and get out of it!” Mic groaned - everyone in the Burns family hated bed rest. It mean not being in the action, and usually that meant a lot of boredom.
“It’s okay Mic!” Cody said brightly, patting her hand. “You can watch from the firehouse with me!” He suddenly looked more sad, but also relieved. “It will be really nice to have you back.”
Then, they pushed open the doors and wheeled her out into the parking lot. Instantly, four gargantuan robots bounded across it, clearing the entire thing in only a couple strides. “Mic!” Blades cried, immediately throwing himself down on his belly in front of the wheelchair to reach her level. Large beads of coolant were sliding down his face as he wrapped his servos gently around the back of the chair. “We missed you so much, and we were so worried, and-“
Mic wrapped her arms around his neck. “It’s okay, Blades” she croaked, tears stinging her eyes. “I’m right here.” Blades hiccuped a couple of times and stroked her hair. After a few minutes of checking on her, and asking if she wanted a party, the helicopter bot moved back so that Boulder could kneel down and reach her. “That was incredibly brave,” he murmured, taking her hands in one of his massive ones. “Reckless, but brave.”
“I think it should go without asking that you should never, ever do that again,” Chase said, kneeling down next to her. His hand curled around her spine, and she felt his digits reflexively seek her pulse on her back as if reassuring himself that she was alive. “Although that building defied every single building code in the book,” he huffed. “I counted.”
Mic chuckled and gave them both a hug, receiving careful and tentative hugs in return. She turned her head and looked up and the final bot. Heatwave’s face was unreadable, but his arms were crossed tightly and his shoulders were just about the most tense she had ever seen them. “Heatwave?” she asked in a small voice. Was he mad at her?
The firebot finally knelt down, optics sweeping over and checking for injuries. Then, he reached out his servo tentatively, pulling it back after a few seconds like he was afraid he would hurt her. He swallowed hard - “Mic-“ he tried to say, but his voice broke slightly mid-sentence. She leaned forwards and wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling her own tears spill over. Heatwave wasn’t angry- he was worried about her, so worried in fact that it had moved him to tears. And Heatwave wasn’t exactly the best at processing his emotions, so he tended to bottle things up and pretend he didn’t feel them.
His servos cupped around her, and a massive chin settled atop her head gently. She noticed his knuckles were torn and crusted with energon. “I’m right here,” she sobbed, surprised at the rush of emotion.
“Please don’t ever do that again,” Heatwave whispered hoarsely, rubbing her back. “We’ve already lost so much. I couldn’t bear to lose a sparkling.”
Mic pulled back and looked up at him in shock. From spending time with the Bots, she knew that a sparkling was a Cybertronian child. And that meant that Heatwave considered her his child. The massive red bot paused, seeming to register what he had just said. Then, he sucked up his pride, ignored the little voice in his head that told him to pretend to be indifferent, leaned forwards, and put his forehead against Mic’s. “I can’t lose you, kid. I love ya too much.”
She nodded and smiled, hugging him tighter. All the other Bots crowded around to give her more head-pats and hugs until Chief waved them back long enough for Blades to transform to his alt-mode. Her dad - one of her five dads, that is - lifted her out of the wheelchair and carried her into Blade’s cockpit, where Dani joined them. It jarred her ribs a little, but she gritted her teeth against it. Kade was approaching Heatwave, but turned to look at her.
“Gonna go get you some ice cream now! Mind if I get some for everybody?” He yelled. Mic nodded, and then looked up as Heatwave pulled a face.
Help me, he mouthed. It’s gonna melt and go everywhere!
Mic giggled. Good luck, Dad she mouthed back.
Heatwave looked playfully annoyed at first, but his face morphed into shock and then helpless joy as he processed what she had said. Blade’s canopy closed, and Mic waved at the rest of the Bots as they lifted off the ground. She was happy to be home.
(Sorry for not adding more dad and daughter fluff with the other Bots. I kinda ended up fixating on Heatwave bottling up his emotions and I kinda figured he’d be the last one to tell Mic he considered her his kid because he hates talking about feelings. Either way, enjoy the fluff to counteract the angst! -Leaf)
OMG I LOVE THIS 🥹🥹❤️🧡💚💙💖
Heatwave is torn apart. They all are, but as the most aggressively protective of the Rescue Bots, he shows it the most violently. Throughout the entire time Mic is in the hospital, he spends his time either on patrol or beating the hell out of the metal training log, furious at himself for not being fast enough and furious at the world for putting her in that situation. Mic was so bright and full of life. She looked so small when Chase lifted her bleeding body out of the rubble. He turns his worry, fear, and despair into inconsolable wrath because it’s the only way he knows how to cope. It’s the only way he knows how to protect himself from pain. He’s lost loved ones before, and he doesn’t know what he’ll do if he loses the little human that’s like his daughter. That he’d gladly die for. It should have been him.
Chase is numb. The shock should have worn off by now, but it hasn’t. His servos still twitch and clench as if he can still feel the tiny warm body cradled in them and see the red liquid spattering his fingertips. He doesn’t sleep, doesn’t stop working, because of he does his mind will wander. He’ll see how pale and still she was and wonder if her eyes would ever open again. Whenever Chief orders him to rest, which he does - “You need to rest, partner, you won’t be able to function if you don’t” - he replays the accident over and over and over again in his head, visualizing how it could have gone better… and how it could have gone worse. Could he have gotten there quicker and saved her? Could he have held the ceiling up? What if she hadn’t gotten Chief out of the way and they had both been hurt? What that ceiling beam had fallen at a different angle and crushed her spine? The questions spiral endlessly, and all Chase can do is wait for news while worry ruthlessly clenches his spark like a vice.
Blades is distraught. He has always been the most anxious ‘Bot on the team. He follows Chief around constantly, asking questions rapid fire whenever the older human gets a call - Was that the hospital? Is she okay? Is she going to live? When is Mic coming home? - to the point where he worries Chief is two seconds from kicking him out of the firehouse. But he can’t help it. He paces around constantly, unable to sit still, unable to stop moving due to nerves. It’s horrible to have to wait, so he tries to occupy his mind. Would Mic like a welcome home party when she gets back, or will she be too tired? Will she be the same? Will she recover? He wants to see her again - see her smile, make her laugh with his (usually poorly timed) pop culture references - but they don’t know when Mic is coming home yet. Humans are so fragile compared to Cybertronians, and while he knows Mic is strong, he worries that irreparable damage was done. He worries she might not come home at all.
Boulder watches the others, human and Cybertronian alike. He’s always been the rock of the team, always coped with traumatic situations the best. He was a construction bot in Kaon before he was a Rescue Bot, so he’s seen his fair share of hell. Heatwave lashes out when he’s hurting, Chase shuts down, and Blades can’t sit still. Boulder developed healthy coping tactics. So he tries to help the others, tries to drag them away from their vices. But sometimes, when he’s soothing himself - painting, or calmly and logically negating anxious thoughts - he remembers how Mic’s breath faltered and how she barely opened her eyes even as Dani lifted her into Blades to rush her to the hospital. The paintbrush falters, and his throat burns. But Boulder keeps forging ahead, trying to keep the others from spinning out of control, because he has to. He’s their rock, and if he’s not doing it for them, he’s doing it for Mic. She wouldn’t want them to fall apart like this. But how can one not fall apart when someone they love so dearly is so badly hurt?
Here ya go! Some freshly served Rescue Bots angst :D - Leaf

FUCKING SOBBING MY PALS

Hey! What about canon vs fanon hawks seeing that the reader is about to fight outside their school against a delincuent who was harrassing them. Would hawks try to stop the fight?
Canon would more than likely stop the fight, mostly to keep up his image, and to prevent anyone from getting hurt. He would have the delinquent sent to the principals office and get them sorted out there, then quickly check in the reader and make sure they are okay.
Fanon would very much watch the fight before intervening. He is very curious if the reader is able to hold their own again't the delinquent, or if the fight would be very one sided. In the end, he would stop the fight before anyone reaches the point of hospitalization, and check on the reader to see if they are okay. He cares, but also wants to see if the reader is capable to hold their own in a fight.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUU!!! hope you have a wonderful birthday! here’s your cake :)
Mmm tasty cake. I love it! ❤❤❤🐤🐤🐤
How I imagine the reader being a half human half demon baby in Obanai section. Just you wait there more where that come from. Also keep the photo I want no credit of it
