this post is single-handedly replacing my favorite ship in tadc (ribbun)
⭐Ragatha and Gangle: Unhealthy But Not Hateful⭐
⭐️I love Gangle and Ragatha’s codependent relationship as much as the next guy, but whenever I see the portrayal of Gangle despising Ragatha and thinking violent thoughts about her while Ragatha gives no shits for her well-being, I just stand there stunned. Like, we just witnessed multiple scenes of them caring for one other while also having suppressed negative feelings and we just jump to the conclusion of their relationship being hate-ridden? It works for an AU, but canon-wise, their relationship offers so much more than that just "Ragatha and Gangle hate each other since Ragatha's fake asf"⭐
⭐ I don’t want to be that guy, but let’s not pretend like they weren’t just making lesbian-colored bracelets on Valentine’s Day right after episode 4 happy of each other's company 😂. The girlies don’t hate each other, they just depend on each other to an unhealthy level and are dishonest about how they truly feel ⭐️

zooble is the doctor. and also secretly a mad scientist. they decided to take up this role to solve their body dysphoria but sometimes they entertain pomni's exit obsession and tries to help her too.
ragatha is the farmer. she provides the food and she also takes care of the livestock.
kinger and pomni live together. kinger is the mayor of edentown but that's just because i think it's funny. but if i have to give a valid reason it'd be because he's the oldest and that's why caine gave him the role. pomni takes care of kinger and acts as his assistant also. she secretly works with zooble.
you already know about these guys because i keep drawing them. jax's role is the stand-up comedian, and he 'asked' gangle to help promote his shows with her drawings (making posters for him n stuff) they have a love-hate relationship. oh yeah they're technically married because they started living together so that they don't have to visit eachother's houses to get their jobs done since they spend 24/7 of their time together already anyway.
i'm honestly not sure if their children will be canon to this au since i just made them as a joke. idk.

I had a really, REALLY weird dream about The Amazing Digital Circus last night!! ( @gooseworx you wanna weigh in on this?)
I have had a lot of wierd dreams but I’m usually in all of them as the main protagonist in first person view, but this is the first time that it felt like I was watching an actual episode of a series.
The cast was on some adventure and the main npc villain was actually someone who used to be at the circus, but abstracted and is now used as an antagonist npc (I think her name was Victoria? She’s themed as some giant aquatic monster with a bunch of starfish and kelp on her, think of like the Big Daddies from Bioshock, but with more sea life on her, and you could see her scarred up face).
Pomni gets paired with Jax throughout the episode and Jax FINALLY gets some character development instead of just being some kids cartoon bully with no background or character other than just annoying & torturing people. The entire cast is supposed to defeat Victoria but Pomni being the hero that she is, tries reaching out and helping her, despite Jax constantly trying to mess this up. Jax Finally gets the character development I was talking about and is still a jerk but is now more like Buford levels of jerk (still mean, but you can tell he cares and he’s a bully friend that you would invite over for a game of baseball) instead of being like Denzel Crocker (Fairly Odd Parents) or Brad (Kick Buttowski) levels of bully.
One thing I forgot to mention is that in the adventures, Caine gave the characters the ability to fuse together to become more powerful and fight through. At first, Jax simply just uses Pomni to get stronger and the fusion they start out with is like; INCREDIBLY toxic! Think of it like from Steven Universe, with Lapis and Jasper becoming Malachite and showcasing a toxic and abusive relationship. (As Garnet said; “They’re a bad match for each other”) But as time goes on, Jax starts to see how fast Pomni’s already non existent mental health is deteriorating faster and faster, even when he stops fusing (mostly because he’s annoyed with how Pomni is slowing them down and making the fusion weak with her problems) her problems starts showing on Jax. After the both of them almost abstract because of Jax trying to do something he sees as “fun”, (trapping the rest of the cast in a cave to make them panic) Jax and Pomni have a heart to heart and realize how they need to work together to complete this adventure and get back to the circus. Once Jax finally realizes that, he lets go of the controls a little bit so that Pomni can also take charge. By the end of it, they’ve bonded and their fusion relationship is more like Stevonie with the fusion even changing to show both of them equal amount.
For some reason, Caine absolutely HATES the idea of Victoria coming back to the circus, something about “it’s not up to him” and “against the rules and company policy” several times the cast has to stop him and beg for him to not turn her into confetti like he did with Gummigoo. Caine ends up putting the cast into a new adventure and sets them up with an impossible task. They all have to agree on something or team up together to let Victoria stay.
The cast is transported to some falling apart school that is floating in the middle of space with some dim sun in the center, yet it’s freezing cold. The way I can describe the school is like Elmore Junior high (from amazing world of gumball) I think I even saw some of the gumball characters here and there? But the students and teachers were more like demonic zombies…
The cast is split up and only Pomni and Kinger are the only ones who believe that Victoria should get a second chance at the circus, after all, she was human just like them. Even Ragatha doesn’t want to know what might happen when they bring Victoria back (as she’s been playing the villain for so long she doesn’t know how be a supporting role) not to mention for as long as any of them have been there, they’ve never seen Caine act so hateful towards any of the npcs or avatars. But when Jax is struck with an ultimatum, and chooses to save Pomni and the cast over himself, the rest of the cast says Victoria’s name and they are all transported back to the circus with Victoria.
Victoria’s look has changed almost entirely. I’ll do my best to describe it… she had blue skin now, blonde hair in a high bun, but she looked very abstracted (not tadc abstract! Like an abstract painting) very blocky, and chunky, and she only had one eye now and it was on her right side of her face, which still looked scarred, but no where near as bad as before.
The dream ended with the cast showing her around, and telling her to take it easy as she’s the first person to not only come back from being abstracted, but also the first so-called “npc” to come back to the circus. Caine was floating near by still glaring at Victoria like she was a piece of filth that shouldn’t be there, while bubble is annoying him. Before I wake up Pomni and Jax are wondering if all abstracted humans became npcs or if this was just something new that Caine tried like with Gummigoo ai and making something actually scary for zooble like before.
That’s when I woke up. I’ll tell you that had to be the weirdest dream I’ve had in a long while. @gooseworx you wanna say anything about this???

That scene where Gangle got hit by a truck!!! That had to mean something, maybe about her life outside of the game? I can't thi k of anything that doesn't sound stupid ARGHHH
Also she was so close to abstracting!!! I was so scared for her
And Honest Ragatha! I'm so glad we got to see that side of her, it really shows who she is as a character

Yes I’m posting this at like almost 4 in the morning. The girl kisser thoughts won and I couldn’t sleep shut up and enjoy.

You should totally ask me to elaborate on my design interpretation choices even though it’s already pretty obvious why I did what I did twirls hair
been seeing a lot of people talking about how weird jax was in the recent tadc episode, and i wanted to share my thoughts about it
to me, this whole episode was about masking, both in a literal sense and an emotional sense, and what happens when people can't mask anymore. it was mostly focused on gangle, and how she's trying to keep herself together and happy despite not feeling that way, but i also think this theme spread to the other characters as well.
there are a handful of characters that i think mask, or hide themselves more than the others. starting off with zooble, who hides in their room because they don't feel comfortable with themself, being forced to interact with the others and do the adventure.
then, ragatha, who tries so hard to make others like her and saying what she thinks they want to hear, ends up drugged or drunk or whatever which takes away her filter and causes her to say what she really thinks.
finally, jax, who i think values control, which is almost impossible to get in a place where your whole life is controlled by someone else. so he acts a certain way and he does what he can to get whatever amount of control that he can over a situation to prove that the digital circus doesn't have full power over him. sometimes i think he acts like a jerk as a way to control what others hate about him, instead of them hating him for things he can't control. some form of coping mechanism or smth, but i don't think we know enough about jax to say that for sure. he might just be a jerk for the fun of it.
but he loses that control in this episode. gangle, the one person he has the most power over out of the group, now has power over him and when he pushed back against that, she sent him to the training room where he was physically restrained and forced to watch the training video. that's why i think he was so off this episode. because his way of coping with being stuck in the circus wasn't working and there was nothing he could do about it
but hey, that's just a theory

A Stupid Dance
My dad saw me crying over this edit while watching it on our family tv, and he's never seen the show so that was fun to explain to him-
this right here is describing me in the fullest and that makes me realize why I personally kin her. My friend group literally call me Mom willing because I have such a caring nature when in reality… caring for people is a coping mechanism! Is that the best thing for me and my self love NO! But it’s so funny how it took me a good 5 years to realize what I was doing and another 3 years for me to attempt to even stop the cycle (fail miserably a good amount of time while trying to heal)
But over time I’ve learned that trauma can be lessons learned and/or be handle in a better way than just giving all your power away ya know

Ok you asked for it, my very long, actually serious, unfun answer.
Would ragatha be a good mom?
Unfun Answer: It's easy to confuse people pleasing/care taking trauma as 'good parent' material. But that isn't always the case and by default I don't think those qualities alone would make Ragatha or anyone a good parent. I think what actually makes someone a great parent is the ability to recognize their trauma and actively work to process and heal through it so they don't replicate their traumas with the people around them.
Everyone has emotional baggage and trauma in some form. And kids will eventually trigger you. They won't mean to, but they will. When that happens, you need the tools to give them empathy and understanding and structure, even through whatever you're dealing with at the time. Not just during the fun moments but during the times when they do unintentionally hurtful things too.
That's hard to do, and for a lot of people, they end up having kids before they even realize they have these unresolved traumas. To be clear, I don't think that makes them inherently bad parents in that case, it just makes being a parent that much more complicated when it's already one of the most difficult things a person can do.
There are a lot of parents out there who became parents because they thought it's what they were 'supposed' to do. And if they never learned how to set boundaries for themselves, or communicate their needs or wants, to hold space for themselves as a separate person not defined by what they do for others, they often unintentionally pass those habits off onto their kids. The cycle continues.
I know some truly incredible parents who come from trauma and have worked through it and the perspective it's given them is invaluable. But it's a choice. It's hard work. And it can only start when and if someone even recognizes there's something there to process to begin with.
All that is to say, I think we as humans all have the capacity to do that work. I think Ragatha as a character has the capacity to be a good parent. But I also think there is hard work involved, and it depends on if someone makes the choice to do that work. Or, to be stuck in their cycles.

Game Grinder is the complete OPPOSITE of what she is!
She's a level 20 Player (this might change in the future), which is pretty high for player standing. I would say the's the 3rd strongest player in the party (the first being Kinger and the second being Jax).
As far as the party goes consists of everyone from the main cast of Digital Circus:

Pomni (She the latest one to spawn in/ join the party )
Now for why Ragatha is so strong:
You see that heart-shaped crystal around her neck, it's not just for show.
When she first spawned in she spawned near the Kingdom of Sweet Hearts and over time the Queen... how can I put this... took a liking to her! So Ragtha ended up staying at the castle as a... pet per se. The heart-shaped crystal (called a Jelly Crystal) was like a collar more or less. I sign that Ragatha was the Queen's good-given gift! (Sad truly)
I plan to go into a lot more detail when I make the post about the World of Wonder map and kingdoms so stay tuned because I'm only scratching the surface with this kingdom!
But after her escape from the kingdom and she started learning combat in order to escape the digital world, caine gave the crystal an upgrade that kinda went wrong... (and it made Jax a lil jealous )
Though it was tricky for her to manage her newfound power, she built along with it! Learning to tricks and upgrading her Ultum card faster than ever!
