Oh noo!! šš I can see how that might happen, though. My blog has a good bit of art under the Nie Huaisang tag, none of which should be JGY-critical (personally, Iām willing to criticise JGYās actions in an analysis sense, but I donāt do character bashing unless a character is truly despicable, and JGY is just not that! NHS wasnāt completely UNJUSTIFIED in his actions, but his actions were not inherently less ābadā than JGY. JGY simply did what he did for himself, while NHS did it for his brother. Even if you look at it from a selfish vs selfless standpoint, they both tricked the people who trusted them, endangered loved ones, and both had complex and morally grey reasons to do what they did. They would be viewed as having similar arcs and compared more often I believe, if it werenāt for the fact their conflict was WITH each other, and not someone else.)
My friend Lemon (BearFox_1022 on ao3) is also soon going to be uploading a fic in their NHS-centric series āLife With A Little Luckā that has some excellent JGY content that made me SOB (beta life is fun).

i'm also sad to say that my feelings on nhs have soured a bit in recent months--not because of the character, to be clear, but because of some really frustrating and unpleasant encounters with nhs stans here and on the mdzs subreddit, so it's not his fault, i know!--but i would like to rediscover the stuff that i did used to love about his character. so if you have any nice fanart or fic recs*, i would love to see them!
* my only request for these is that jgy isn't treated like the scum of the earth or some evil caricature of himself, since it's very hard for me to enjoy fic or fanart where i can tell that the author/artist isn't extending him the same grace or compassion offered to the rest of the cast.
