why do I never watch things with happy endings.
I've been working on a fic for a while now and if you've been in the ao3 Anderperry tag in the past few months, you've probably come across it but I just wanna say I'm here on tumblr bc it seems like most dps fans are here!!!
It's one of those "what if Neil lived?" scenarios with college life in NYC in case you haven't seen it, and it's called "Off to New York City"
my English teacher from last year showed it to our class and I remember thinking that gorgeous cheekbones boy and shy blue eyed guy were kinda into each other and now I've been stuck in this pipeline for monthsš
anyways, I'm grateful for all the love my first multi chapter and first published fic has received so far since it started off as a 1k word Drabble :)
I'd say im around halfway through publishing and writing it, so stick around for updates <333
@books-poetry-tea omg thank you for asking! So the introduction is Understanding Poetry, Pritchard is saying how good poetry is something measured by graphing itās qualities. Poetry is yk a form of art which expresses any emotion you can think of. Poetry is a deeper way of people allowing themselves to be vulnerable and all that. On the surface I am the pages. I represent a type of scale weighing the good and the bad but sometimes my ideas of bad and good are blind sided by everything around me. So the scale Pritchard made shows human excellence ļæ¼not human expression. Which like omg this scene is so important to me because it really encompasses the meaning of the film. The boys ripping out the pages is them finally allowing themselves expression over excellence. I am the pages because I have become blinded by the expectations set in the environment Iāve grown in. So when the boys rip these pages away they are essentially ļæ¼allowing the pillars(tradition, honor, discipline, and excellence) or the expectations that have been set for them to brake away which in turn relates to me by ripping away toxic traits Iāve learned and need to unlearn.
Thank you for letting me ramble (ā¢3ā¢) idek if what I said makes sense but it makes sense to me soā¦
You know everyone in the Dps fandom is like I relate to Todd or I relate to Neil or literally any of them but tbh I relate to the introduction pages.
Yk thƩ pages they rip out because it puts a box on creativity so they throw it away.
Yeah Iām those pages.
No I will not explain (unless you ask please ask I want to explain)

āI love how to movie ended with Neil at the play!ā
Stop it guys yāall are being delusional. We all know what happens⦠Neil gets dragged home by his dad and he canāt tell his dad how he feels. He goes to bed not feeling understood with the pending doom of military school. Itās about 11 by now and Neil canāt sleep and heās just so angry and sad and he doesnāt now what to do so he walks through the house and BOOM!!! Jk his dad wakes up and he explains that he was scared to tell him about theater after the events with the school paper so he lied and that heāll still go wherever his dad wants he just wants to do theater on the side (he switches his majors but his dad doesnāt know that as of right now) so his dad agrees and letās him continue at Welton and Keating keeps his job. Iām the end the poets all go to nyc and do whatever they want with their lives.
