I don't really play Hearthstone anymore, but I've always loved it for the different ways it portrays the World of Warcraft. I love Mean Streets of Gadgetzan so much that I wish it was a part of WoW (I'd love to make a Starcraft 2 mod inspired by it, but I'll talk about that later).

The most recent Hearthstone trailer had two great parts. The first is this Tortollan volcano city, which looks rad as hell and has a bunch of cute turtle people. The Tortollan are fine in WoW, but they look a lot livelier in their Hearthstone art.

Chromie pulling alternate-timeline versions of heroic characters has a vast amount of fan-theory potential. There were certain character skins in Heroes of the Storm that had different backstories, such as Thrall's "Ashwolf Chieftain" story. From what we saw in the trailer of pre-banshee Sylvanas and Lo'Gosh Varian, I'm certain they won't take that particularly wild direction, but who knows? There may be a mighty surprise.

I was reminded that WoW is 20 years old.

I played from 2007 to 2013 then waited to return until Legion and only stayed for the single expansion. I went back with my husband for a month to play this year and it simply... wasn't for me. WoW did not feel the same and I didn't expect it to. The game, the setting, and the players have all changed over the years and I no longer find comfort in Azeroth.

But damn... does watching the old cinematics really make me feel.

My husband, @notleriff, showed me the synopses for the upcoming WoW expansions.

And I started crying.

The good memories came flooding back and my favorite zone is going to be front and center and it just felt like "oh, that's home...". But I realize that going back might not be in the cards for me. Playing WoW was definitely the most toxic era of my life and I suffered heavily for it.

But damn... going 'home' sounds so nice.

Inktober Day 23: A character a little less known this time, but important in the history of Warcraft, she is one of the leaders during the Civil War of Gilneas, Lorna Crowley... nah nah nah! What went down in your head? ... oh wait, what was the song? xP

Inktober day 22: "Bow down before the God of death! Madness will comsume you!" The fourth Old God of this Inktober 2018, this is Yogg-Saron, Hope's End.

Inktober day 21: Ursoc and Ursol, the ancient bear brothers! We loved their story in the Druid's Campaign in Legion ;)
