It seems like there's more positivity on Tumblr than other platforms (*cough*Twitter*cough*). Like, you can say "I love you, bestie." without anyone calling you corny or childish.
Y'know what? Reblog this to let your besties know you love them.
my belovedest spore creatures, the R'rwyri!
They're small, nomadic omnivores that live on the lush natural satellite Kismet-G5 (the 5th moon of the 7th planet, a massive gas giant, orbiting the star Kismet!) They have a yearly migration path that takes them from their winter home in the central part of Kismet-G5's single supercontinent, where it's hot and dry, to the coasts in the summer.
They use their long, narrow proboscus to drink both juice/nectar from fruits/plants and blood from other creatures.
Regional dialects vary, but their language is largely high-pitched whistles and chirps, accompanied by buzzing or clicking from the spiracles along their neck. Most spacefaring r'rwyri that live in multispecies cohabitation carry a translation device where words are typed into an input and the device translates and reads the translated text aloud.
i think that every child should have unrestricted access to thick blackberry brambles or some other delicious fruit that grows encased in a painful fortress. i think wading through thorns to reach the cluster of shining ripe berries you spied through a gap between the tangled vines teaches you something important. not sure what though
Hot take: I unironically think Solarpunk should do more stuff with googie/general-50s-style aesthetics as an act of political praxis.
Cause like, specifically because of how different it is from the Default Solarpunk Aesthetic that slowly seems to be becoming A Thing.
Because there’s always a worry that solarpunk becomes appropriated as just an aesthetic divorced from the political praxis and practical design aspects that are the whole point of it.
And like, while it’d always have the inherent boundary of form-follows-function, I think the best way to head that off is to diversify solarpunk into many other aesthetics, if that makes sense?

are you nerds ready to see TOP SURGERY KIRK??
hmm
The way Trek cast members react to their characters being shipped with other characters is fascinating to me. Shatner ping-pongs back and forth between being homophobic and being Spirk’s #1 supporter so fast it gives you whiplash. Mulgrew has her hands over her ears going “LA LA LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOUUUUUU JANEWAY IS A STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN WHO DON’T NEED NO MAN but like I guess if we absolutely must then she should be with Chakotay” meanwhile, Alex Siddig and Andrew Robinson are begging the writers to let them kiss, with tongue
All social media discourse basically boils down to, "Your moral argument is based on a gross oversimplification, but if I point this out, people will accuse me if defending the bad thing"
I bought this organ off Etsy I like to jab it with my screwdriver.
